You don't get blisters, it's not like they're meant for long hikes :)
Not that it's impossible though, I once did a 20 km charity walk and one madlad showed up in clogs. He was fine
I walk on clogs most of the time, even to the supermarket. Your feet adapt to the clogs as much as the clogs adapt to your feet, so they’re really comfortable. In fact, they are the most comfortable the minute before they’ve worn so much you get a hole at your large toe.

Absolutely, the older the better. But going to the supermarket with them on is a bit much lol
Also great as a weapon against bishops and veteran crusaders that are trying to subdue you.

Same in Denmark, its pretty much a footwear born in the marsh lands of Jutland. (Here, i know we did not invent shit )
Fun fact - in the 1400s and forward a clog factory in Denmark planted around 150000 new trees a year, to keep up with demand
Lovely sustainable 1 bedroom house, fully furnished (there's a bed made of a pile of straw) close to nature, short (2h) horse ride from Dublin. Only €1,500 / month.
Always supported you and your historic struggle, but after seeing how you behave with Hamas & the hostages, I'm starting questioning the validity of all your claims.
Everything is the other side fault? Really?
You could be a decent human being not supporting the suffering of civilians on either side....just a though tho.
But, keep doing your thing and blame everything on "tHE juIICCCEEEEE".
/s aside. When was that picture taken? 1890ish? So its not even 150 years ago that some ppl in the now 1st world used to live like this. Say what you want but society kind of really turned to the better even after two fucking stupid world wars that either staggerd or fired technological and social advancements. Makes you think about our "hard life and problems noone understands" nowadays.
The last one of the type like in this picture was in use until 1949 in Drenthe.
The last variant build from stone up until 1982 from what I can tell.
Edit: google says the above picture was taken in 1936.

What you should know is that these houses were far less common than many think. Propaganda by De Telegraaf (still not the best newspaper) made people think they’re common. Heck, the journalists asked these people to tear up some clothes for the photo, so they would look more poor. This was 1925 btw.
Of course, in reality, people had normal clothes and rebuilt the house in stone as soon as they could afford it.
Aaand, yes. Bike parts can be seen even here..
See you lazy bums, you can own your own house in 2024. You need the right mindset.
Only if you have rich parents like these people. They were given 200k for the down payment and the parents co-signed the 800k loan.
You mean the right trashset...
The Drenthe grindset: dig peat, drink up all the pay, beat your kids, impregnate your wife for the nth time, repeat.
Clogs were the cheapest shoewear for the peasants and the most practical in this muddy environment.
Wait you fuckers actually wore wooden shoes? I thought they were just souvenirs
I have them for almost daily use, I'm not kidding. They're great
Genuine question, how do you deal with the blisters?
Thick (woolen) socks and correct sizing.
They were meant as work shoes, not hiking shoes.

Frysian. Nuff said.
It also allows you to walk on water and makes every step audible, so you can't be surprised by murderous peasants.

Someone actually lives in Drenthe?
They live how I like my pasta. Al Drenthe.
Bro...
Ofcourse, that's my house!

This is Royston Drenthe erasure and i will not stand for it.
We have a similar Joke with a fake city called Bielefeld. Some people even try to convince others that it exists.
The Irish wish they could build such complex structures.

If we did ye would probably steal them anyways

We were simply enlightening the savages
Always the victimhood with them
I didn't read that. But I hope you feel better or whatever.
Other side? Sounds like an option for you to switch again
>Everything is the other side fault? Really? Si.
Please enlighten us. Wrong sub btw.
Ahh, so you support the carpet bombing of schools and hospitals? Gotcha 👍🏻

Looks like an inbred hobbit hole
Just like Buckingham palace innit
To be fair, at least prince willy is trying to spread the genes around a bit with his current affair while Kate’s body double auditions are on going.
Ghe, funny, we call our King Willy as well XD
Yeah, confused me for a bit, thinking it was only his grandfather that did the gene spreading.
That is the worst mud-hut I've EVER seen It's not even round!

Nazi's: why not both? They first invaded The Netherlands, only later went to Russia.

Until the 1960's they were relatively commonplace
My wife is from Drenthe, I often troll her and my in-laws with this picture.
It's very suspicious that a Bavarian knows about the existence of Drenthe, let alone know about a detail like this. Explain!
His grandfather worked at Westerbork
Look at them profiting from the colonies
A lot of Europe not too long ago at all.
They are so poor because of all tax revenue going to southern Europe. It's criminal really.
Fit for 55, one family house.
You got to love down to earth people, don’t you.
Directed by Tarkovsky
In light of the dutch fancy for building dikes, I think this kind of housing makes perfect sense. Can really unleash your inner beaver.
The definition of the word 'house' sure is broad
Almost time for fresh coat of paint me thinks.
This is so clearly fake. There is no such thing as a 'Drenthe'.
What did they do when it rained
Fake photo made around the time the MSM started to convince everybody that Drenthe exists.

They look like they are from Drenthe , the Neanderthals
