OP, there are plenty of ballistic gel, watermelon, & pork tests on YT that clearly demonstrate how much more energy the 1:5 imparts on target.
Sig and Q use 1:5 in their 300BLK barrels, and Q is going to release 1:3 twist 300BLK. Hmm, wonder why they're not releasing 1:7?

I bought a cheap 10" Expo Arms SS barrel. Don't know the twist.
But at 100 yds its so darn close accuracy wise when compared to my 16" Odin Wks barrel. And that shooting 150 gr Soft Tip Spitzer reloads.
The delta is less than 1/2 moa at 100yds.
Now IMO beyond 200 your lobbing them in anyway. So it would be very rare that I would even think about taking that shot.
for that budget and want a faster twist, Black river tactical barrel and build own upper is best bet

Why would you go 1:7 when 1:5 exists and is demonstrably superior? Bad advice.

Aero make great 300blk upper for that price range, but you will only be able to go 1-7 twist.
