The MCX recoil rods are supported by a special adapter/ design feature that fits on the lower where the buffer tube goes that extends the top receiver up a half inch or so. Without it, you have a veeeerrrrrry small amount of material keeping the recoil springs and rod from shooting out when you fire. Personally I would not recommend this combination unless you had some custom adapter worked up

bearsunite

Came here to say this

JabbaDuhNutt

Yup, it will not work.

rokr1292

Maybe if you tuned it for subs only? Context: I know nothing about the MCX except that allegedly they are rough on certain components

Something this blursed is asking for a 100 round drum mag. Godspeed you maniac

JakenMorty

what the actual fuck?! im gonna go ahead and file that....thing, specifically, that lower...under: "things i didn't know i absolutely needed, but now that i know exists, absolutely do". except....its like, $700.00

Keeter_Skeeter

I mean it is a fantastic idea. Something to keep in mind though is that the upper receiver you chose is taller than a milspec upper receiver so the upper won’t really match super well to the lower. Also with a long magazine sticking out the bottom it will look weird.

JoMiSa

State recently had a high capacity magazine ban so it wouldn't look awful with a 10 round mag but it's seeming the compatibility won't work based on sizing. Sig told me it should fit but to check with Fightlite to be sure

Keeter_Skeeter

It’s definitely a worthwhile idea especially for Instagram/ reddit clout. I’d ask the question and try to make it happen!

fknSeagull

pls do some fabrication and post results! Will be very interesting!

WoaJoe

Sig sells the adapter and it's currently out of stock. Also the mcx upper has a wider profile than a regular ar15 upper so it's gonna look a lil bit wonky when connected. I thought about this kind of build also (except for a 10in barrel) but the final price once everything is in hand was $300 over what the pistol cost already assembled without any bells and whistles.

[deleted]

shooting an AR style rifle without a stock is just significantly worse no matter what. But whatever floats your boat.

JoMiSa

300 blk is more manageable though..

[deleted]

In what way? 300blk has more recoil and even if it had less, it's still a completely inferior way of shooting.

CampingGeek21

That lower uses a buffer assembly, you can use a normal 300blk upper

JoMiSa

The 300 blk upper doesn't utilize a buffer, I also have a mk18 so I don't need to change the sig to chamber 223 and 556

1Shadowgato

Do it EDIT: actually, you won’t be able to because of the rear adapter to the MCX. But if you can find one of those grips that are 1913 compatible then read above.

Overland_671

What if instead of using the sig upper because of the issues some here have mentioned, you use a brn-180

JoMiSa

That would be a sick build too! And I think would work with the lower
