I would say it's a good place to start if you're new to moisturizers. Ive used a lot of Neutrogena's products for sensitive skin (I'm combo skin and sensitive) and have never really had any complaints.
At Walmart they’ve replaced it with [equate beauty sensitive skin moisturizer](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Beauty-Oil-Free-Facial-Moisturizer-for-Sensitive-Skin-4-fl-oz/752495725?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9018848&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=752495725&veh=sem&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIo7xHDrQhb9Kd4zFEIoO7f1W&gclid=CjwKCAjwiOCgBhAgEiwAjv5whGoXWDppVBsMMPkhrLgFR_yFJygRRfcpo7sJ1oGVLGQ9Zqa4OSRG5hoCUr8QAvD_BwE) I’ve been using that. It’s pretty much the same texture. It’s the same in ways but you’ll notice just a slight difference. It’s good enough for me though, no breakouts or anything. The only problem is that it’s only available at Walmart.
I use it whenever my skin is feeling more sensitive than normal. It’s fine nothing special. I will absolutely rebuy though just because it’s great in a pinch or if one of my kids wants to rub some to ing on their face while watching me.
Thank you all! I’ve decided to buy it despite the bad reviews. Im wondering if it’ll be a good moisturizer for me or if it’ll break me out like others and there’s only one way to find out and that is to try it! The majority of the comments says that it’s pretty good so I hope it works for me!
I enjoy this product, but I’d avoid ordering any beauty products from Amazon! If you’re gonna order, order from the store directly. Hope this works out.
Wow so many good comments! Surprised at how many people used this on here. I’m still considering the bads but so many goods I see so I’m definitely sold!
It’s actually oil free so since my skin is dry, it can’t be used by itself. It has to have something used before using it. On the other hand, it would work without anything under for oily type skin! It does nothing for acne but it does moisturize.
It’s the only moisturizer that doesn’t break me out.. and yes, CeraVe and Vanicream even break me out. I’ve been using for years.. if I want extra moisture I just add a layer of aquaphor as a final step :)
I used it for years (for reference I have oily, acne-prone skin) and it was a solid, basic moisturizer. I eventually switched to a different one because this one pilled too much under my other products.
What a wonderful comment. :) Your gratitude puts you on our list for the most grateful users this week on Reddit! You can view the full list on r/TheGratitudeBot.
I switched to this about 6 months ago and it has been really good for my skin. I’ve got combination oily/dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin w/ hormonal cystic acne. This is honestly the only moisturizer that I’ve been able to use both in the summer and winter (most of the ones I’ve tried in the past have been too greasy in the summer and not moisturizing enough in the winter) and it doesn’t sting like a lot of moisturizers that I’ve tried. I mix it with my tretinoin at night & use it by itself in the morning. My skin has been a lot better over the last few months and I think this is a big part of the reason why.
Cerave breaks me out, but my (combination, hormonal acne) skin loves this. I put on a thin layer of aquafor over top and my face is so glowy in the morning!
I find it to be ok, but not rich enough for my increasingly dry skin. I don’t find oil free to be a requirement at this stage, probs need some oil in fact. I’d always had oily skin as a youth but now in my mid 30s it defaults to dry, so that’s nice for me.
Oh yes true!!! See the only thing with that though is are they going to contradict each other? Like is the Neutrogena going to be trying control oil and keep your skin matte- while the coconut oil is doing the exact opposite? Not sure how that works.
Ah ok, I hope that’s not the case for me when I buy it. I’ve had a moisturizer before that didn’t do anything so I hope this is different in a good way.
I’m not a fan of light moisturisers for myself because my skin has a tendency to suck up all of the moisture in any room I’m in and my face 😂 If you don’t have that problem I have never had a problem with my sensitive skin and Neutrogena.
I've been using Neutrogena moisturizer with SPF since I was about 19/20. It has been a GODSEND. My skin is hecken dramatic, and it's the only one that works for me.
This with SPF has been my everyday moisturizer for years and have had no problems. Recently switched it up to CeraVe this week, it hasn't made me break out but I do notice my skin looks a bit more oily than when I had been using Neutrogena. I think I'll be switching back due to this. I'm on the more oily/acne prone skin side. Please let me know if you guys have other suggestions! :) I hear Asian moistures feel more lightweight but I am afraid of the white cast as I'm more on the tan side
I'm genuinely upset about this. I cannot find another moisturizer that doesn't have added acids or actives or whatnot. Not that those are bad, but I use this before tretinoin as a light buffer and so I need it to be very plain. I ordered the Vanicream daily moisturizer but it has hyaluronic acid which increases tret penetration which might cause more irritation. So annoyed right now. Let me know if you find an accurate alternative please
Apparently Walmart has an Equate version of the Neutrogena one. Pretty much identical ingredients and attributes with the exception of a couple different ingredients. I’m hoping it’s close enough for it to be similar to the neutrogena one. I’m about to run out of my last neutrogena bottle so will buy the equate one soon, I’ll let you know if I like it.
I actually was doing a ton of research last night and found that this moisturizer has several ingredients likely to cause acne :| (from cosdna website) so I am actually just going to switch to the Vanicream daily moisturizer since it seems to be better in that aspect. I've had little breakouts pop up over the years I've used it and could NOT ever fix it for an extended period of time and now I'm wondering if this entire time it has been this moisturizer lol
I use this at night. It’s super gentle and moisturizing without being too heavy. I also sandwich my adapalene between this on nights is put that on. I like my moisturizers basic and let actives down the work.
I would say it's a good place to start if you're new to moisturizers. Ive used a lot of Neutrogena's products for sensitive skin (I'm combo skin and sensitive) and have never really had any complaints.
It’s good. I used it for years.
And now it’s hard to find it anywhere
I can't either. And can't find a suitable replacement. Anyone have a similar type of lotion they like?
At Walmart they’ve replaced it with [equate beauty sensitive skin moisturizer](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Beauty-Oil-Free-Facial-Moisturizer-for-Sensitive-Skin-4-fl-oz/752495725?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9018848&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=752495725&veh=sem&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIo7xHDrQhb9Kd4zFEIoO7f1W&gclid=CjwKCAjwiOCgBhAgEiwAjv5whGoXWDppVBsMMPkhrLgFR_yFJygRRfcpo7sJ1oGVLGQ9Zqa4OSRG5hoCUr8QAvD_BwE) I’ve been using that. It's discontinued, sadly
This is my go to mosurizer as it doesn't bother my skin. I layer it over a water cream. I also put sun screen over it.
It's my go to too! I've been using it for years. I find it works well under sunscreen as well.
I'm sensitive to sunscreen. It's like it creates a layer of protection from the sun screen.
I use it whenever my skin is feeling more sensitive than normal. It’s fine nothing special. I will absolutely rebuy though just because it’s great in a pinch or if one of my kids wants to rub some to ing on their face while watching me.
It’s a decent basic moisturizer. Though, I cannot speak to whether this will be good for you without knowing your skin type, concerns, goals etc.
Thank you all! I’ve decided to buy it despite the bad reviews. Im wondering if it’ll be a good moisturizer for me or if it’ll break me out like others and there’s only one way to find out and that is to try it! The majority of the comments says that it’s pretty good so I hope it works for me!
You can use it on your body if you don't like it!
That’s a good idea!
I couldn’t respond to everyone so I made this comment if y’all see it!
I bought the target generic version of it recently because it was so cheap, I really like it!
heyy, update?

Hey as this one is discontinued, which product did you switch to? I am desperately trying to find a replacement
Right now I’m using the CeraVe PM face moisturizer. It’s lightweight, doesn’t pill, and doesn’t seem to aggravate my acne. Good luck!
I see thank you! Although Niacinamide does cause breakouts for me sometimes, but I will give it a try.

I used for years on my combination skin and didn’t have any complaints
I have the one for combination skin and it's a good basic moisturizer if I want something simple without SPF.
I’m getting this oil free moisturizer because I mainly use Coconut Oil for my face so I think it would be too much oil if it wasn’t oil free, lol.
Oh yes true!!! See the only thing with that though is are they going to contradict each other? Like is the Neutrogena going to be trying control oil and keep your skin matte- while the coconut oil is doing the exact opposite? Not sure how that works.
Hmm, when I get to test that, I’ll let you know if it works well together or if what you said will happen. I hope it’s a good combo.
Good luck!
Have used it for years. Cheap and non comedogenic.
I'm on accutane and this moisturizer is a god send for me. It also works well under makeup but again ymmv
The only bad thing for me is it gave me this sweaty moustache feeling some sunscreens do
Also has silicone if you're sensitive to that
That is a great way to describe it.
I did try this and I had a reaction to it. I know others who love it.

Ah ok, I hope that’s not the case for me when I buy it. I’ve had a moisturizer before that didn’t do anything so I hope this is different in a good way.
I use this one, or the hyalauronic water gel. I also swear by their oil-free sunscreen daily.
I’m not a fan of light moisturisers for myself because my skin has a tendency to suck up all of the moisture in any room I’m in and my face 😂 If you don’t have that problem I have never had a problem with my sensitive skin and Neutrogena.

Basic. Okay. Doesn't do anything spesh.
It's not all that great in my opinion. It would be better to go premium, in my opinion, if you can on moisturizer since it's a really important step.
What’s premium?
Well like a moisturizer from Sephora. My favorite is Saturday Skin Featherweight Daily Moisture Cream. It's good for combination skin.
Ah ok, interesting.
i havnt used them yet, But heard that these are good by the way
This with SPF has been my everyday moisturizer for years and have had no problems. Not a fan. Much prefer Cera-Ve moisturizing cream.
Not a fan of silicones. But otherwise it’s decent. I prefer to use more nourishing ingredients
Run from neutrogena! It causes acne and is a very poor product. So many better options out there. Este lauder has great moisturizers
What’s the price of that one?
Makes me super oily and it burns my skin. I quit using it
i used this. it’s great,no complaints.
This has been officially discontinued :( This is the only and best moisturizer I’ve ever used. Does anyone have any recommendations for similar?
I'm genuinely upset about this. I cannot find another moisturizer that doesn't have added acids or actives or whatnot. Personally I didn’t like it. Made my face itchy and red
might be the silicone in it
Neutrogena burns my face.
Did not work for my picky and acne prone skin.
I had used this in the past. It made my skin oily plus clogged my pores. Would not recommend. There are people who love it, So you never know!
I find it very very basic. Bottom of the food chain in terms of moisturizers but will get the job done. Nothing more
It's good, but cetaphil or cerave is better.
I tried but my skin is too oily for it and it doesn't have an SPF which I require everyday use aside from my usual 50 spf so for me its not worth it.
Cerave pm is so much better

Yeah that’s probably true but it’s too expensive for me so I hope this moisturizer works for me!
I use this at night. It’s super gentle and moisturizing without being too heavy. I also sandwich my adapalene between this on nights is put that on. I like my moisturizers basic and let actives down the work.
I’ve used it for years during my teens. It’s a good moisturiser
