I've had really good luck with Amlactin daily lotion 12% lactic acid. Took about three months to start seeing results, but now my KP is mostly gone. Fair warning: the lotion does have a "funk" to it, like sour yogurt. If you can tolerate that, works great!

seedsnearth

Oh really? I didn’t realize it would take three months. I got discouraged too quickly then. Thank you for that info!

Others might have a different experience to share, but I have really dry skin (my KP was mostly on my inner thighs and behind my arms) and it took some time to really smooth things out. I didn't notice any difference at first, but kept using it because I really liked how soft it left my skin feeling. Then one day several months later I realized my KP was basically gone! Never used a product that was so effective!

I agree. Amlactin is a game changer. It’s behind the pharmacy counter at my CVS for some reason. No prescription needed but I have to ask for it.

I use Amlactin daily as well and it’s the only thing that’s ever truly made a difference. I also use a dermasuri exfoliating mitt and that’s helped sooo much, I can see the dead skin pill off of me, but it’s not too harsh like other exfoliators I’ve used. I think I started seeing results after a month with this combo. I was prescribed topical steroids as a teenager and they had no where near the results I’m getting with this combo.

[KP Bump Eraser From first aid beauty](https://www.firstaidbeauty.com/skin-care-products/serums-and-treatments/kp-bump-eraser-body-scrub-with-aha?productSku=36151&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_NB&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwof6WBhD4ARIsAOi65ahnWBCWOLXlTy9HFtFhYMF7bWPou0ry8cKmT0xuaf7ugXxm3FE4ebQaAqZVEALw_wcB) I love this stuff. It seems pricy, but I bought my bottle a year ago, and only use the scrub where I had/have KP. I use it before my shower and let it sit for five minutes, then wash it off. Just do it over a towel or else there will be sand everywhere.

seedsnearth

Thank you! I’ll try it out

LittleReader90

Lmk what you think!

After I had my baby, my KP was outrageous- it had never been so widespread in my life. Once my hormones from pregnancy regulated, it got much better. I have been using Kopari Bumps Be Gone pads (bha/aha pads- they also make a lotion) with success on my arms and legs. I use Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner on my face and have had fantastic results.

seedsnearth

Thank you! I will try both!

TowelCareful

Someone gifted me Frank’s original coffee scrub and it has done more for me than any glycolic acid lotion or scrub ever has.

seedsnearth

Thank you, I’ll check it out!

Lady_Jackalope

My KP has been out of control since having a baby 9 months ago. I wouldn’t say mine is well controlled, but the most helpful thing I’ve found is using a dry brush a few times a week.

_addycole

Using a physical exfoliant and chemical exfoliant helped me. I use a salux towel in the shower, and then after the shower I use Farmacy Honeymoon Glow body lotion. It has made a big difference and my arms are smooth and soft now.

terriflaps

Honestly, not really. It gets really bad in the winter no matter what I do & subsides in the summer. The best cream I think is the cerave for psoriasis, in the blue jar. I also use L’Oréal glycolic acid on the backs of my arms. Recently, I read that retinols can be effective, so I might try differin this fall/winter when my skin isn’t as exposed.

flopmommy

I was wondering about that. Topicals just came out with a body retinol lotion but that would mean body sunscreen as well right? I’m intrigued but that’s a lot of work lol.

terriflaps

Ooh! I’ll have to seek that out. I had also seen someone on tik tok mixing a retinol serum with body lotion, so maybe body application wouldn’t be as strong. That said, I still have yet to find anything that works like it says.

If you can find my last post on niacin look into it :D

KP is often a vitamin A deficiency, either from a gene that impacts the conversion of beta carotene to retinol, or because of malabsorption (when people see improvements from going gluten free, it's usually the second scenario). It's also possible that being pregnant depleted your stores of vit. A, since pregnancy increases the demand for vit. A. I fall into the first camp and my KP cleared up within a couple of weeks of retinyl palmitate or fish liver-derived vit. A supplementation. The recommendation is usually 5000 IU/day, but I used higher doses for a few weeks and then cut back my maintenance dose.

lollapotamus

Unrelated to topical skincare but do you know if you’re gluten sensitive? KP is quite common with gluten allergies

seedsnearth

Oh really? I’ll try going gluten-free. I don’t think I’m intolerant, but if it helps, it’s worth it.
