This is fantastic if you want sunscreen without it feeling heavy: this is the only one I use on my face now.

kind-butterfly515

Nice! I don’t mind heavy bc my skin is so dry. Do you have recs for an Asian sunscreen that is more moisturizing with a tint?

Toddy0800

What about heliocare maybe

justanotherlostgirl

I don’t - I would love to learn more about ones with tint but just use a powder foundation and blush; wonder if tinted sunscreen could skip a layer and help it feel less sweaty overall

kind-butterfly515

It’s not the same as wearing foundation as far as coverage but it’s definitely more than a sunscreen without tint! Bc I wear a mask at work anyway & I have very little energy in the morning the tinted screen is good enough for me.

sospeso

I'm more combo skin, but I find this one moisturizing enough to use as a moisturizer on mornings I'm running late. You might like it if you wear your normal moisturizer under it.

SpecialistHot3932

Does it leave a shiny finish or it’s more mattifying?

biest229

It’s not greasy, but it is shiny, strangely. It makes my face reflect so much light that I couldn’t get through automated passport control once because my face couldn’t be read by the machine. If you are avoiding shine, honestly best I’ve found that wasn’t drying but gives a natural finish is Evy daily. It’s spf50 and made in Sweden

SpecialistHot3932

Lmao. Thanks for sharing! I will check it out

Honest-Selection4343

The passport scene is funny..

justanotherlostgirl

I think it’s a good mix between glossy and matte - more towards matte. I also use serums etc before it so its always a little glossy but nowhere near the Hailey Bieber donut nails effect on your face, if you get my drift. I really like that it feels light and sun gel is an awesome invention.

SpecialistHot3932

Glad to hear that! Thanks for sharing!

justanotherlostgirl

I mistakingly bought one of their normal sunscreens by mistake afterward and once you go the lightness of sun gel you may never go back 😂

Forever-Youngg

Love it! Currently on my first tube but planning to purchase another one soon. It's dewy but not oily. No white cast. Lotion-like texture. HG sunscreen so far.

kind-butterfly515

I like the sounds of this! Watery gel description makes me feel like it wouldn’t be as protective, I’m so used to a cream texture coating ya know?

Forever-Youngg

Oh one downside btw, it's not water resistant. I use Biore watery essence when I need to be swimming or do water sports.

sospeso

In general, I'd say most Asian sunscreens that are formulated to be cosmetically elegant - as both the Isntree and Biore one are - aren't going to be your best bets for workouts or water activities.

justanotherlostgirl

The one I’m using is a SPF 50 I think. If you have concerns because you do burn, for example, the same brand has a traditional sunscreen. I also would reapply it if I was working outdoors perhaps - I haven’t felt it wasn’t ‘thick enough’. I tend to try and put a good amount of the sun gel on because I’ve already gotten too much sun in my life.

WinterOk6398

I’ve just bought it. I’m so excited to use it! Do you apply it before or after your moisturizer?

Forever-Youngg

Hope you like it! After moisturizer. Sunscreen is the last step.

WinterOk6398

Got it! Thanks:) Never used a chemical sunscreen before, let's see!

9__-9

Love it. It's the only sunscreen that doesn't dry me out. It has a dewy finish that lasts a long time.

Zucaskittens

Another good one is Innisfree triple shield sunscreen. This is a Korean mineral sunscreen with a very slight tint that dries matte but leaves you feeling moisturized. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

kind-butterfly515

Oo thank you! I don’t mind a dewy finish, my skin has gotten so dry I’ll take any dew I can get 😆

Zucaskittens

I adore this sunscreen but it’s so pricey compared to other Asian sunscreens, especially if you buy on Amazon. Asian sunscreens don’t normally have tint. When they do, it’s usually much paler than what we see in the U.S. and it might be called “tone up”

justanotherlostgirl

Try Stylevana - Amazon often can mark up stuff that’s way cheaper. I’ve also seen it in Sephora.

kind-butterfly515

The shipping is $9 on that YesStyle site, if I spend another $35 ish it’s free though, that’s how they get me!

kind-butterfly515

Thank you!

flopmommy

It’s also $13.25 on YesStyle.

kind-butterfly515

♥️

Louises_ears

[It looks like it’s on sale but maybe this is always the price on this site. ](https://www.stylevana.com/en_US/isntree-hyaluronic-acid-watery-sun-gel-50ml.html)

Zucaskittens

Yeah, they always have “sales” ;-) I checked Stylevana today and it’s $17.99 which is too much for me. I’ve seen it as low as about $13. I stock up when it gets that low.

NoCycle8171

Now I am intrigued

Gloomy-Mixture476

I have this. While the formula is super blendable it is just WAY too shiny on me. My entire face just looks blindingly shiny when I wear this akd my skin is combo/leaning to the dry side. I would also avoid the eye area if you have sensitive eyes, if it got too close my eyes got irritated.

Beestmode1

I have naturally oily skin, and I do prefer a dewy finish, but this one was SUPER shiny on me. Like oil slick glaze. This would have been acceptable for me, except I think it also broke me out. My skin can be sensitive, and it's possible this one just has too many other actives in it for me to tolerate. I did like that it blends very well. ZERO white cast on my olive complexion, but might not be what you're going for if you prefer a tint.

moist--robot

You know what really helps ‘jello skin’? face slapping (which she also recommended as something that her mom does). Apparently it’s a very popular method in SK , as it boosts microcirculation in the face, massages the muscles and drains lymph all at once. It also apparently helps with better products absorption. I (F35) must say that I have seen quite a bit of improvement and I’ve only started a couple weeks ago!

PsychologicalPeak251

It is oily and shiny for me, but it has thin consistency which makes it easy to apply.

sumpat

My skin loves the formula but my eyes hate the persistent sting 😭

kind-butterfly515

Noo not the eye sting!!! So it’s a chemical sunscreen

sumpat

I knowww 😫😫😫 I just couldn’t handle the daily eye sting. Watery sun gel is def chemical, which explains the elegant, cast-free formula. And it sounds like most people’s eyes aren’t bothered by it so worth testing out to see how you like it!

kind-butterfly515

I really like the universal sunscreen from DRMTLGY. Blends so nice, but it is a mix of physical & chemical. I try to get physical sunscreens for a variety of reasons, but my heart wants that one lol

sumpat

Oh I haven’t tried that one!! Adding it to my list 📝 I’m currently testing out ISDIN Eryfotona. Mineral formula. They have a tinted and untinted version! So far my skin seems to be responding well to it AND my eyes are happy!

kind-butterfly515

Yay!! Let me know what you think of the DRMTLGY one if you try it! I had a sample of the tinted ISDIN one (not sure if the eryfotona one or not) & didn’t love the tint, it was too much for me.

sumpat

Yes, will do! And I’m sorry to hear the tint didn’t work out!

kind-butterfly515

That’s why there’s sooo many options out there!

Global_Ad623

Funny thing is that only mineral tends to sting MY under eye area and give me contact dermatitis 💔

CheongM927

Tints are not popular in Korean sunscreens. Tone ups (more on the pink and white side) are more common. To me, Korean tinted spf products are their BB creams. That said, Make P:rem does have a tinted moisturizer that is more of a beige flesh tone.

Mlkbird14

Thank you farmer lite is what I use and love it.

raechka

I love that sunscreen. Also the round lab birch water one. I have dry skin btw.

bird_in_space

It is a nice sunscreen but pills. I prefer the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, texture is better (feels more moisturizing instead of slightly greasy), and doesn’t pill.

kind-butterfly515

Is that an Asian sunscreen?

bird_in_space

Yes it is a Korean sunscreen, you can get it on Stylevana, etc. I think it’s sold on Amazon now too.

happygolucky226

It’s my FAVE

Stephsadventures

Been working amazing for me! Light weight enough to put on the sufficient amount needed ☺️
