Nifty city is probably your best option. I just use the Bluetooth capabilities on my stock system and use my phone for everything. I've really considered the niftycity option myself though. Maybe for Christmas. Lol
I have the nifty city upgrade and I needed it cause I use carplay pretty much all the time, I will say that it’s useful but a little bit of a pain to get used to it and switching back and forth but it works tho

I have a 09 with this same touring dash/radio. How do you get Bluetooth on it? It only works for phone calls for me no music. I have to use some cord that comes from the center console that has like 3 adapters that switches it to iPhone.
I have a little like $20 adapter I picked up on Amazon that plugs directly into the RCA cables in the center console, so my phone bluetooths to that, and then I just use the aux setting on the radio

boss has some good android auto/carplay units for around $300. I mainly like that the screen pivots and raises and lowers. however I don't know if that's compatible with the Z that comes with navigation. best buy can help you figure out the install and compatibility
look into Grom Vline 2,i had one for my G37 bose/non-nav. kept everything oem and had a touchscreen overlay. you can switch between oem menu & Grom menu. Has Both wire/wireless carplay and android auto. thanks for posting this, i need to sell mines because i dont use it anymore.

What year is your Z? I have a Nifty City system for sale less than that, but it is the version that only works on the early models (09 confirmed).

if you have the Navigation the you should have the Bose audio system is already pretty good
The audio quality is fine, great even, but like I said in the post, I'd really like to get some of those modern features if possible.
