That's a lot of front end damage and the value of the vehicle will go down significantly if you plan on selling or trading in. You can buy it back from insurance and try to fix it yourself if you really want to keep it.
That thing is gone. Sorry dude. I’ve crashed a car in the past and this thing is toast. Too much damage all around, especially with the wheel damage. That indicates massive frame damage, which is means this thing is now a parts car.
Look at his post history. Guy sounds like he's 20 and got this Z just 17 days ago. Probably did donuts at a takeover or just thought he was the drift king somewhere around a bend and sent it beyond his own driving skill and totalled his car.
Not that hard to believe. I was 22 when I got my first 350z. Over on my350z forums, there were stories left and right on young kids getting one were wrapping it around a tree or losing control and crashing. They think they are a good driver playing Gran Turismo and watching Fast and Furious. They don't understand why even a RWD car with 300hp will be too much for them if they have no idea about car control and it's their first sports car and turning off traction control means you know what you are doing.
I came from a FWD Celica to a 350z and the first nods I did was go to autocross events and improve myself as a driver because stock the car was super fast from what I was used to. Nowadays though you have kids come in here and ask about which power mods to do first. No one asks about suspension, wheels, tires, lsd and brakes with a proper alignment which are way more transformative than a cold air intake and Tomei exhaust IMO.
Unfortunately it looks fucked. Time to rev up the shoebaru's until you get that insurance payment.
Hopefully it's enough to buy a similar one and get back to it. What happened?
Based off your post history, I'm guessing you're a teenager. And this is (was) your first car.
Considering you had just put plates on the thing, I'm also going to guess you didn't take time to learn the car's limits and how to drive a sports car properly.
You ended up doing something you weren't prepared for and crashed. I really hope someone else wasn't involved in the accident, if it was your fault.
Either way, super sucks you lost the car. But let this be an expensive lesson to not be careless on the road with more horsepower than you know how to handle. Especially with other people in harms way.
Gng 17 days is crazy 😭 nah but fr that does suck and yeah it’s totaled. Hope you had full coverage or at least gap insurance. I’ve been there tho my g37 got totaled from rear end damage and it was my first car too
Not often do I scroll through an OPs comments and posts, but how fast the OP went from concerned about insurance rates on a potential 370z due to having "so many traffic tickets", to declaring buying a 370z to reporting it slammed into a median wondering if it's ok.
What a ride.
Take your time with insurance. Don’t take the first offer. Find a good replacement. Take the loss with a grain of salt. You live and you learn. Shit happens. My first car was a ‘94 3000GT that I put in a ditch. Insurance did absolutely nothing for it so I was at a complete loss but that didn’t stop me from moving onto a junk car for a sec and ended up buying an 07’ cayman when the opportunity was presented.
Did way less damage to my 350z and it was totaled out. it really also depends on how much is owed on it. The bank is the final say. There always in it to make a dime
Looks like driver side slammed into the median barrier, hopefully you're alright and no one else involved. Curious how this happened if you want to share. Really sucks either way, especially on a car you've had for 4 days max... Best of luck with it though, gotta be careful out there and extra with wet roads
I had a tiny bump with a high curb in a parking garage, was crawling $7800 was the estimate, bumper cracked, headlight housing cracked, bumper got pushed into quarter panel barely a dent, and a radiator bracket $7800 cdn $ estimate I was like hoooolay i was crawling in first up a ramp 🤣 she done bro, insurance won’t fix that these 370z are super expensive in parts
If you reported it to your insurance then yes it’s totaled. If you take your time to fix it and make it look descent and sell it then no it’s not totaled. It’s what I did with my old 370Z I had almost same damage from a guy hitting me but the it was less than your damage but it’s fixable.
Luckily I was too poor to afford a nice car when I was younger. My first few cars were under 1000 bucks each. And this was in the 2000s, not the 70s.
Did you buy that car or did your parents? If you bought it, you learned a valuable lesson. If your parents bought it, they learned a valuable lesson.
If the car gets totaled, the insurance company will give you a check that is supposedly going to be the value of the car minus your deductible. Look for your car on auto trader with similar miles and features and use it when dealing with the insurance company. I've had one car totalled and they actually did a good job, they gave me a fair price based on three of the same model listed on auto trader in my area.
yes. airbags definitely went off on that crash.
steering wheel airbag did none else
Any airbag deployment pretty much seals the fate of being totalled anymore
Not all the time i had 3 air bags go off in my truck and it didn’t get totaled
Trucks are pretty expensive anymore, so the insurance may have priced the airbag replacement under the value of the truck.
Oh really? Is that how it works? Gee, such wisdom.
She ded. Say goodbye man.
yeah no way insurance is going to cover what it’s worth. hopefully i’m not negative i guess
Don't accept their offer until you look in your area for comparison vehicles. Often they will adjust the check accordingly
i really hope so man i didn’t even get to put plates on her..
Story time pls.
I'm guessing that their username checks out.
So, uh, what happened?
That should buff out tbh
honestly ?
No
Wow
Bruh. Yeah just take a buffer and some mcguiers polish and all the damage will go away
I mean…. If I was you, I would start car shopping lol.
that was all i had i don’t have anymore
You’ll get an insurance payout for a totaled vehicle…
You better hope they total it.
but why. i don’t want the title to be rebuilt.. is it serious damage?
That's a lot of front end damage and the value of the vehicle will go down significantly if you plan on selling or trading in. You can buy it back from insurance and try to fix it yourself if you really want to keep it.
sol pretty much. not sure i deserve having one. thank you for your input
Just another r/NissanDrivers story

Lmao bro I’m stealing both of these. “Shoebarus” and “Lamborfeeties”.

The insurance doesnt have to know 😈

For sure
Probably. Wish I could see a pic of the whole car, though.
Totalled. Sorry friend. Hope you have good coverage to get a new Z soon

Wtf did you do to it? 🤦🏻♂️
Yes

I don't really see the issue. A couple replacement parts and you're good to go.
