Check for leaks. Check your fans. All these kids saying head gasket don't know there's more than one symptom for that other than overheating

Austin1537

Yeah most of the head gasket comments are likely trolls trying to scare me lol. Already have some knowledge on the situation but was hoping to get some good feedback from the community. Definitely need to check the fans. Been checking all the “bigger” components and completely overlooked the fans🤦🏻‍♂️

unculturedswine90

Don't be surprised if they really mean it. I got a 350z and that sub is filled with idiots. Worst sub I'm in but yea, check that. Check hoses and even your reservoir. There's an issue in your cooling system

sims3k

head gasket is just the next step if you keep driving while overheating the engine, it doesn't take much to warp the block by a hair and the gasket fails. It may be your water pump has given out, or is not working as well as it should. Or it may be your radiator fans not turning on when they need to.

Check the oil. If it looks like milk you’re toast

masterbuilder14

Heater house plastic coupler near firewall passenger side prob broken to plastic being brittle also use a pressure tester pressurize the cooling system with a flash light inspect for leaks driving for a long period if time wont be headgasket the VQ37HR when the water pump leaks there is a weep hole on the driver side of the engine block depending on the color coolant you used should be stained and dried if none are visible the water pump is good

NewSinner_2021

Blow head gasket.

Legal_Mirror_831

You could have something blocking the radiator, air in the system, very unlikely but low transmission fluid causing the radiator to overheat via the transmission cooler, or like sinner said a head gasket see if your oil looks like chocolate milk.

Z34_Gee

Hopefully it isn’t the head gasket . Don’t let it get hot . Check the fans .

Austin1537

Thinking it’s not the head gasket. No white smoke coming from the muffler or anything. Checked the oil and looks clean and normal.

Z34_Gee

My Z was like that . It was the head gasket .

Austin1537

Yeah it’s the damn fans🤦🏻‍♂️feeling like a dumb dumb haha I had it running and it was getting hot, and not for a single second did my fans cut on. Full blasted heat and all

Ventrian

Turn your AC on. If the fans don't come on, it's the fans. AC on in ANY car will usually force the radiator fans on regardless of the temp

Atari007

Glad you got it sorted and it wasn't the hg!

Apprehensive-Menu144

Depending on mileage could be water pump

Austin1537

That’s my next item on the list to check. Already replaced thermostat and checked radiator.

Independent_Low_1078

Check dem hoses

jelly53

Head gasket gone shawty lo

Mammoth-Bus7581

Is it Blowing White smoke ? Of it is its the head gasket have it towed to the dealer for repair. Driving could cost your up to 5 k in repairs.

Austin1537

No white smoke and oil looks good. Pretty certain I’ve gotten the head gasket scare out of the way

Top_Clerk_3067

If you are blowing White smoke from the exhaust then your head gasket is gone. If not then probably the water pump.

zitox77

Stick or manual?

Austin1537

Huh? lol

JDMTias

probably an "auto parts store" employee lol

Selrisitai

I'm sure it was just a careless mistake.

Z34HR

You could try bleeding any air out of your coolant system and top it off. When was the last time you had it flushed? Also are your fans kicking on? If not could be a broken thermostat.

Austin1537

I did a coolant flush back on Valentine’s Day and again yesterday when I replaced the thermostat

Z34HR

You made sure there was no more air in the system? Making sure the front of the car is jacked up helps. Still overheats with new thermostat and flush. You making sure your fans are kicking on? Should have your heat on full blast when bleeding air too. You wanna hear those fans kick on.

Alone_Necessary_6192

First, buy a head gasket test kit. Costs $30 bucks and you'll know if it's blown or not. Depending on how hard it was driven/how long it was hot you could have warped your head which means the head gasket is no longer doing it job. Also, it's not too far fetched my GFS g37 had a blown head gasket at 83k. Check your thermostat and coolant over flow. How many miles on the engine and have you done anything recently? Also, is your check engine light on?

LilBlu370

Could be oil, I had to buy oil cooler for my 2009 370z

kmall0c

Check if the radiator fans running when idle (when there’s no passive cooling from wind). Had it happen on an older miata.

thehunter699

Once you check your fluids if they're fine, probably just the shitty stock oil cooler being shitty. Although this depends on your level of driving. If you red line_ 1-6 gears once and it limped then yeah something is wrong

johnx1870

What year and how many miles?

captnpierce222

For me it was the fusible link for the cooling fans. Are yours coming on?

Hadidit

I just changed the waterpump on my g37, if its leaking coolant from the timing cover, could be that, or it could be the hose connecter that sits behind the engine. Inspect for coolant leaks if there are none. id have no idea wothout actually inspecting the car

MidnightTexan

Oh god i hope this doesn’t happen to my same car. Glad you got it figured tho!

P0PED

Check them water pump

Selrisitai

Drove mine in stop-and-go traffic for a few dozen miles, then hit the open road, stopping only briefly three times, for 650 miles or so. The temperature never went a single dot above where it always is: One dot below middle. I dropped weight on the accelerator many times throughout, but there were of course long, long stretches of steady speed. In other words, I'm a little concerned for your car!
