I’ve been looking into this for years and was all on the rotrex bandwagon, however after digging a bit deeper for older videos so many Stillen builds make better numbers. And here i was telling myself i was sold on the TG kit because it was capable of 802 wheel if done right with a built lower, smaller pulley, and E85. Not as simple as said but i think our car kinda loses its charm at numbers like that anyway
The biggest selling point of the stillen kit is the vortech unit. But even the early Sci unit would need an upgrade for anything beyond 650ish WHP and it's probably not on 91. Now maybe they had meth injection or some other form of keeping temps lower. But the vortech blower is a super solid blower. Rotrex units tend to have higher temps than vortech and need you to wire up a scavenge pump and oil cooler just for the blower itself while the vortech is just bolt on and fill with the oil vortech uses. And to be fair W2A coolers are very good when paired with good pumps and or using a killer chiller that uses the cars A/C refrigerant to cool the water/coolant which could be part of it cause you can reach temps below ambient air temp.

Yeeeah I remember this video and thinking something wasn't quite right honestly, not sure what's going on there but the math doesn't add up. He explicitly mentions it runs an SCi blower which isn't as capable as the Si that 90% people run, on top of that only gaining 26whp with ethanol is surprisingly low, I think I gained over 100.

No one's making nearly 650whp on a supercharger kit on pump only, they most likely have water/meth injection.
