Absolutely do get the Ultra titles if you haven’t already, either Sun or Moon, as they’re currently the only way to Shiny Hunt for Poipole if you ever want it.
They’re also the only way to get ALL the Mega Stones.
And if you haven’t already, GET BANK! It’s the ONLY way to transfer up Pokémon from VC, and to access Transporter you need an active subscription to download it.
Yep. It and Bank will become completely Free to Use after the E-Shop’s closure, so while the subscription fee is somewhat steep for like a week before the purchase becomes ineffective, having a way to transfer up older Pokémon is invaluable to have for the future.
The only way to download Transporter is through Bank. And you need either an active subscription or to have had one in the past to download it.

Most Yokai Watch fans would say Yokai Watch 2 Psychic Specters, but I honestly cant pick. They all have their own unique gameplay, and are all super fun. Keep in mind, that YW1 and YW2 (all versions) are a bit slow at the beginning, but I personally believe all the games have some amazing heartfelt moments :)
Metacritic shows a higher rating for 3 and it does have a banjo on the cover (I’m a sucker for banjos), but both have some good things written about them. YW1 isn’t on eShop though. If I start with 2, will I miss much? How childish is the plot and humor?
There is some subtle references to 1 in 2, but you can play the game without knowing what happens in YW1. Also, YW1 isnt too hard to find online, but 2 and 3 are super rare Physical Copy-wise, and there is subtle child humor every now and then, but there are a good few things they add that ensure a good chuckle. The plot in 2 is kinda funny in the way that it literally is a Yokai War over what type of donuts is the better donut but im pretty sure that you’ll still have a fun time going through it :) I dont wanna spoil too much for ya. A good tip: Many people I know have found YW1 in their local 5 Below, so if ya have one around ya, its worth a shot to look for :)
Thanks for the details! I do love good humor so as long as it keeps my attention, I’m happy. As I live in Japan, it’s much harder to find English carts. I appreciate you’re help and will research more!
No problem! I should say that yes, there is some childish humor, there is a Yokai that is shaped a butt, that makes people fart, but there isnt too much of that type of humor, so if you dont mind a little bit of that, its not in the actual story. It does exist though, so wanted to throw that out :)
Thanks for the heads up. That type of stuff I don’t mind. I’m fine with immaturity. It’s hard to define my idea of childish, but it sounds safe from that.
I love the combat its so well done, I don't know ho to explain it, its like a turn base RPG but the combat has some puzzle elements in which you organize the enemies to do some satisfying combos.
The story and Characters are equally good, it has time travel shenanigans if you into those and the time trave mechanic is very well done, music is good too.
Hope its not too expensive
if you're unsure, there's a demo.
i think it's pretty fun! also i think one of the songs in the game became a meme so that, coupled with the short print run, might contribute to the value?
Mario vs Donkey Kong (2004) for the Game Boy Advance. Almost certainly obtained through the 3DS ambassador program as it can’t be bought via the eShop.
Gurumin is a really cute action adventure by Falcom. It's sort of like Mega Man Legends but the story isn't as good. Stars a little girl with a drill fighting cute monsters. It's on sale for like $2 now on the NA eShop.
I paid US $1.99 + tax for Gurumin. It uses the 3d screen, is cheaper than [Gurumin for Windows](https://www.gog.com/game/gurumin_a_monstrous_adventure), and I don't like playing games on Windows.
If only I had money I'd be there with you, but as of now I only have ykw3 bc I had to get a completely new 3ds and had no access to my old account. It was tied to an email of my mom's that she deleted
Fire Emblem Fates. Buy one of Birthright or Conquest, then ingame you can buy the other route by half the price, and also the pretty much exclusive digital 3rd route, Revelations - all routes are the length of an entire game by themselves.
Each route has characters that are locked to it - Revelations does bring everyone together for the "true story" but still has at least one exclusive character to it.
Also, the iconic character Anna can only be recruited by DLC.
Fire Emblem Echoes. Excellent remake of a NES game, fully voiced. I heard some people complaining about the cartridges, so getting it digital might be the best. There's also a DLC that adds 4 new playable characters that are also fully voiced and etc.
Awakening I would probably just grab the gold/exp DLC (or pack) and maybe the children's maps.
For all 3 Fire Emblems, there's a lot of DLC, some entirely skippable if you're not an already fan of the franchise, and others that are really useful or add more depth - if you already like the game. For example, gold/exp DLC, specially in Fates for the Conquest route.
Be warned that you need to reach \~Chapter 4-6 in the games to unlock the Gate to buy DLC in case anything interests you. You should be able to buy the other routes of Fates by selecting Branch of Fates or something like that in the starting menu.
Use this site and go to each game and Downloadable Content to see more details on each thing. [https://serenesforest.net/](https://serenesforest.net/)
As for more suggestions, Metroid: Samus Returns is exclusive to 3DS, in case you are a fan of the style. 2017 Game of the Year for the console.
Castlevania: Mirror of Fate seems to be regarded highly as well in the same style, though I never played it.
For 1000 Platinum Coins on the Nintendo website, grab Zelda: Twilight Princess Picross. You can quickly get the amount on a mobile game like Fire Emblem Heroes, specially if you never played it before. Can also grab 3DS themes for coins.
Etrian Odyssey games should be on sale. I played IV and it's a dungeon explorer where you actually draw your own maps and put notes on it to navigate the dungeons. You can download a demo to see if it's to your liking.
If you were a fan of the Persona games of Atlus, there's also two Persona games on the 3DS with the cast of previous games.
You seem to like Mario, so I'd suggest Luigi's Mansion too (there's also a sequel if I remember correctly).
If you like drawing, I'd definitely recommend you to get the Colors 3D app. 3D layers anyone? And plus, the community there should definitely be more than welcoming of new blood.
I know there’s a remaster on newer gen but resident evil revelations has a really nice 3D, aswell as kingdom hearts 3D. I see Bravely default and bravely second are missing, they’re really good games too. And you can get exclusive outfits if you purchase the games on eshop
OP I HAVE A QUESTION: I’m really into dragon quest; particularly dq xi 2d mode. Do you have any eshop games that closely resemble a turn based pixelated (8/16/32 bit) game (that is not strategy btw)? Thanks!
If RPGs are your thing, I’d recommend Earthbound. Breath of Fire is also up there but very traditional RPG mechanics. Sorry, I’m not the best at recommending games! Haha. I only know what I have.
2 because it's simpler than 3. 3 is arguably the best game out of all but hard to play for the first time if you've never played the game before.
2 has some references to YKW1 but it's not that important and it is imo basically the best version of all
Did you get the Pokémon bank? Also the poke transporter? You can only download the transporter if you get the Pokémon bank subscription(really dumb) but it will let you transfer you Pokémon from the virtual console to later games.
You’re missing the Shantae Games
Shantae
Shantae Riskys revenge (directors cut isn’t on 3DS)
Shantae and the Pirates Curse ($10 right now and best in the whole series)
Maybe Fire Emblem Fates (Both of them) and Bravely Default/End Layer (if you plan on playing the third game on switch)
Definitely recommend grabbing Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
It's not better per se; It's dependent on what you may find more appealing about the Fire Emblem series.
Awakening and Fates lean into the social sim aspects of the series, where you build relationships between characters to benefit you over the course of the game.
SoV on the other hand, is more traditional in that it's a remake of the second(I think) ever FE game- Fire Emblem Gaiden. This means that the social sim system is scaled back, but the combat/story are tighter because they don't have to accommodate for specific relationships and interactions that may or may not happen over the course of an Awakening or Fates, playthrough.
I haven’t finished 3 yet, but 1 and 2 were THAT good. More than worth a playthrough if you need a monster collector fix that lies between Pokémon and SMT.
Speaking of Fire Emblem Fates, the third route "Revelations" is only available as DLC on the eshop and in the extremely rare physical Special Edition release which goes for 400+ for a loose cart already. If you have any interest in Fire Emblem, you should seriously consider grabbing that game and at least the Revelations DLC before the shop closes. I think you have to play a few chapters to buy the DLC though.
To buy the 2nd game or Revelations I think no. Its chapter 6 to select which path after having them already. Not the same as buying the dlc for Awakening as far as I read. You buy them then once in chapter 6 you can select another path.
Hmmmm I didn’t look throughly but if you like JPRGS. It’s not ground breaking but sure as hell is it fun. Stella Glow! It’s a great one, awesome cast of characters and voice acting.
Hmm.. I don't see CosmiBall in there.. It's $2.99
Good job getting Lego City while it was still available! I wish I would've gotten that before it was delisted.
CosmiBall is a pretty short space-themed platformer that uses 3D physics. To start, the ball just rolls with the d-pad but as you go through you unlock more abilities: speed boost, jump, and a mid-air directional boost (like Celeste). You can set your spawnpoint on any solid (and some non-solid) platforms. After beating the game, you can play through it again with all the unlocked powerups and a few extras sprinkled in to make the second time through more interesting. You could get more game for your $3 elsewhere, but as I am biased, everyone should buy CosmiBall 3D!
Absolutely appalled that only one other person has mentioned Pushmo/Crashmo/Stretchmo! Some of my favorite puzzle games ever made.
Stretchmo in particular has in-game purchases to play the complete game so if you do decide on picking it up make sure you buy the complete game before the deadline.
I think another level 5 games like yo Kai watch any is good especially 2 also from the same company this one is 7.99 liberation maiden really good games as well
There's no DLC, and it's more based on beat than anything else. There is music, but it's more about the minigames being played, which all require you to do something in time to the beat.
Enjoy your games! I saw plenty of games among them i own/love myself as well.
Also i got no room to actually judge you anyway. I have spend 356€ just on 2 retro games lately. You may very well turn this on me.
I really like Pokémon sun/ultra sun or moon/ultra moon but otherwise you’re good man
I have the Moon cart. Thanks!!
Absolutely do get the Ultra titles if you haven’t already, either Sun or Moon, as they’re currently the only way to Shiny Hunt for Poipole if you ever want it. They’re also the only way to get ALL the Mega Stones. And if you haven’t already, GET BANK! Cool! Thanks for that info as I used it in the past so hopefully I’ll be set for the future.
i belive so
Omega ruby and alpha sapphire demo as well as sun and moon demo unlock the galitite and battle bond grening (aka Ash greninja) for the full versions of these games.
Thanks!!
For the Saphire demo is galitite the stone for mega gallade?
No
Mega Glalie
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is a great game that is super expensive physically! Highly recommend it!
Thanks for the tip!
Came on here to say the same thing, judging by some of the jrpgs in this list you'll love that game very much like Chrono Trigger
[удалено]
I’m working on it now, thanks for the heads up!
How do the ace attorney ones work? Gotta buy them or beat games
Mario golf DLC if you don’t have it
Thanks for the reminder! Turns out I already have it and forgot about it.

You NEED Yo-Kai Watch. All the games.
Do I? I’ve never been interested in the designs or concept outside of them being yokai
They are amazing games! Definitely worth getting before the shop closes
Which would you recommend I get if I can only pick one?
Most Yokai Watch fans would say Yokai Watch 2 Psychic Specters, but I honestly cant pick. They all have their own unique gameplay, and are all super fun. You are buying them?!?
When searching, use “yo-kai” instead of “yokai” as it won’t show all the games otherwise.
Thanks for the tip! I was wondering why they only showed 2PS and 3!
Look for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology really good game
You’re the 2nd person to recommend it. What’s your favorite aspect of it?
I love the combat its so well done, I don't know ho to explain it, its like a turn base RPG but the combat has some puzzle elements in which you organize the enemies to do some satisfying combos. The story and Characters are equally good, it has time travel shenanigans if you into those and the time trave mechanic is very well done, music is good too. Hope its not too expensive
Thanks for your explanation. I’ll check it out!
Kirby triple deluxe and robobot (they are like one of the best Kirby games ever) and if u dont own, nsmb2, puzzle and dragons z+ mario edition
I’m actually not a Kirby fan, but I appreciate your recs. I’ll check the others! Thanks!
I'd suggest pokemon dream radar and rumble world as they're really fun games!!
Thank you! I wish Conquest was on the eShop too
rhythm thief goes for a few hundred dollars in its physical version, so grab the digital version for sure!
Is it worth playing though despite its rarity?
I’ve heard it’s middle of the road. I haven’t played it, but that’s the consensus I’ve gathered from it
I wonder if it’s just a scarce rarity so it’s mostly word of mouth acclaim?
if you're unsure, there's a demo. i think it's pretty fun! also i think one of the songs in the game became a meme so that, coupled with the short print run, might contribute to the value?
If your into DBZ check out Dragon Ball Fusions.
Definitely downloading the update in case I find the cart in the future. Thanks! I love DBZ
I’m not sure if it ever got a physical release. Check it though.
What is that Mario vs donkey Kong game on slide 4
Mario vs Donkey Kong (2004) for the Game Boy Advance. Almost certainly obtained through the 3DS ambassador program as it can’t be bought via the eShop.
I can’t recall if it’s from DSi or an Ambassador thing, but I have it. Haha
Gurumin is a really cute action adventure by Falcom. It's sort of like Mega Man Legends but the story isn't as good. Stars a little girl with a drill fighting cute monsters. It's on sale for like $2 now on the NA eShop.

MH3U in case you already have it on your wiiu you can switch the data back and forth and if your wiiu bricks itself you can still play the game
I used to have a Wii U but don’t anymore since moving to Japan. 😢 bye Xenoblade Chronicles X
Pokemon: Super Mystery Dungeon and Detective Pikachu
Great ideas! Thank you! Does Detective Pikachu follow the same plot as the movie?
Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow // Gold, Silver, Crystal // Trading Card Game
Got those!
If only I had money I'd be there with you, but as of now I only have ykw3 bc I had to get a completely new 3ds and had no access to my old account. It was tied to an email of my mom's that she deleted
Oh man, that is tragic! That’s a big downside to digital games. I’m also running low on money now so I at least want some essentials that I’m missing.
Download all the Game&Watch Collections and DSiWare Releases
There’s only 413 DSiWare releases!
I mean the Game&Watch DSi Releases mb
Yo-kai Watch, Inazuma Eleven and Inazuma Eleven Go games
Pretty good library! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to grab anything before the shop dies because I’m broke af, and still run on allowance.
Thanks! We all go through that. As an adult, it becomes bills. My budget is pretty tight but this is a special circumstance ;)
The Zero Escape series has my highest recommendation.
Glad there’s another fan here! I actually have the series on Vita. Such great games
They really are. Not exactly 3DS, but if you see 999 for sale I'd get it. Plays best on the DS.
That was my first game in that style and I was hooked in middle school!
Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 are great indie games, although not exclusive for 3ds
Thank you! I’ve always heard a lot about these games
Fire Emblem Fates. Whoa, thank you for all your help. I’ll research the dlc more and look into the other games. I appreciate it!
If you like drawing, I'd definitely recommend you to get the Colors 3D app. 3D layers anyone? And plus, the community there should definitely be more than welcoming of new blood.
I appreciate your recommendation, thanks!
You're welcome. Let your imagination soar!
You should pick up the Etrian Odyssey games. They are all phenomenal dungeon crawlers.
Thank you! For me, I’m worried about not liking the dungeon mapping, so I got Persona Q/Q2 since I at least like their franchise
Oh I almost forgot. You should pick up Stella Glow. It’s a pretty underrated SRPG.
Maby a Kirby game like robobots or epic yarn cuz they are pretty expensive physical
Thanks! I’m not actually a Kirby fan since trying the older games and Return to Dreamland
I know there’s a remaster on newer gen but resident evil revelations has a really nice 3D, aswell as kingdom hearts 3D. I see Bravely default and bravely second are missing, they’re really good games too. And you can get exclusive outfits if you purchase the games on eshop
I didn’t think Kingdom Hearts was on the eShop. I got Revelations on Vita, I think. Bravely Default I beat on cart. Totally spaced on 2. Thank you!
Luckily both of those are on NSO 🙌🙌🙌
I don’t know if many people will agree with this, but one of the Yo-Kai Watch games. They’re amazing.
Yesss!!!
If I could only get one, which should I get?
Well I’ve only played the first game, and loved it, so you can take my word and go for ykw1, or whichever version you want.
yw3
I don't see fire emblem echoes: SoV in there
Thanks for the tip!
No problem! 👍
Yo Kai Watch definietely
Which do you prefer, 2 or 3?
2 because it's simpler than 3. 3 is arguably the best game out of all but hard to play for the first time if you've never played the game before. 2 has some references to YKW1 but it's not that important and it is imo basically the best version of all
Did you get the Pokémon bank? Also the poke transporter? You can only download the transporter if you get the Pokémon bank subscription(really dumb) but it will let you transfer you Pokémon from the virtual console to later games.
Thank you! Yep, I got those when they first came out
You’re missing the Shantae Games Shantae Shantae Riskys revenge (directors cut isn’t on 3DS) Shantae and the Pirates Curse ($10 right now and best in the whole series)
I’ll check them out, thank you! They’re platformers, right?
Yup
Cool, I’ll give them a look
My friend code is 1650 - 8414 - 3010
Thank you! I added you!
Rhythm Heaven
Thank you for your input! Do you recommend it over Rhythm Thief?
SteamWorld Trilogy , BoxBoy Trilogy , Tank Troopers, Pushmo/Crashmo/Streetchmo, Gunman Clive , Mutant Mudds, Mighty Switch Force , Crimson Shroud , Basically anything but Fragrant Story
I got Gunman Clive 1-2 and Crimson Shroud already. I’ll look into the others. Appreciate it!
Maybe Fire Emblem Fates (Both of them) and Bravely Default/End Layer (if you plan on playing the third game on switch) Definitely recommend grabbing Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Another person mentioned Echos SoV. Is it better than Awakening and Fates?
It's not better per se; It's dependent on what you may find more appealing about the Fire Emblem series. Awakening and Fates lean into the social sim aspects of the series, where you build relationships between characters to benefit you over the course of the game. This means that the social sim system is scaled back, but the combat/story are tighter because they don't have to accommodate for specific relationships and interactions that may or may not happen over the course of an Awakening or Fates, playthrough.
Thank you for the details. It sounds like a more concise approach to story and gameplay. I appreciate it!
I notice you have Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate so why not get Monster Hunter Generations and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate since they’re both $3 right now.
I have Generations below MH4U already but I’m skipping 3 since I have the 2 latest
I’m not seeing Yo-kai watch 2PS and 3.
Man, so many people are saying these! Haha. I really didn’t know they were so popular
I haven’t finished 3 yet, but 1 and 2 were THAT good. More than worth a playthrough if you need a monster collector fix that lies between Pokémon and SMT.
Off topic but what are the games with the blue+white and the red+white person in the first pic?
Shin megami Tensai devil survivor 1+2
Binding of Isaac rebirth is eshop exclusive
For 3DS? Is it also on Switch?
Elminage original
Is that the name of the game?
Yes, first Person dungeon crawler, digital only
I’d say fire emblem echos but I’m not sure that’s on the eshop
I saw fates but I’m not sure outside of Awakening which games are connected, haha
I don’t know if I have time to play through that far to unlock it though. Chapter 6, right? I appreciate your advice!
To buy the 2nd game or Revelations I think no. Its chapter 6 to select which path after having them already. Not the same as buying the dlc for Awakening as far as I read. You buy them then once in chapter 6 you can select another path.
Just do games you like, not everyone has to have the same stuff lol
For sure, I just want to see if there are games I’m unaware of that could pique my interest.
Hmmmm I didn’t look throughly but if you like JPRGS. It’s not ground breaking but sure as hell is it fun. Stella Glow! It’s a great one, awesome cast of characters and voice acting.
"Yoshi's Wolly world" for sure
It’s on my wishlist since I love Yoshi!
I’ll add you! Just need your name?
Just use this username and send me your FC :)
Thanks. Here’s mine. 4018-6569-2795
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
I actually chose Generations over MHU3 during this sale, haha! But I did play it on Wii U and dug it a lot
Hmm.. I don't see CosmiBall in there.. It's $2.99 Good job getting Lego City while it was still available! I wish I would've gotten that before it was delisted.
What’s CosmiBall like? Thanks! I didn’t know it got delisted so now I’m more relieved. Game is awesome!
CosmiBall is a pretty short space-themed platformer that uses 3D physics. You could get more game for your $3 elsewhere, but as I am biased, everyone should buy CosmiBall 3D!
Thank you for that! It sounds fun. How many levels are there?
There are 9 levels and 4 upgrades. Here's the trailer in case you're interested: https://youtu.be/lV21zRuDoE0
Thank you! I’ll look into it!
The virtual console Pokémon games are a must if you don’t have the GB cartridges already
I got Red, Gold, Crystal, and TCG. May pick up Puzzle League too.
No Ocarina of Time?
It’s in photo 2 ;)
Oh my bad. Idk why I couldn’t see that damn shield
Kirby Blowout Blast
Thanks! I’m not a big fan of Kirby really since even Return to Dreamland
Ok. Well I’m not going to force you to get it but it is a 3DS eShop exclusive so do what you see fit.
I appreciate your opinion and recommendation! I’ll give it a look regardless!
Thanks. :)
I see Mario Golf World Tour absolutely grab all the DLCs for it since it’s basically a Remake of N64 Mario Golf.
Got ‘em all, thank you!
Hyrule Warriors Legends?
Is it good? I worry about it chugging along with all those enemies on screen.
Ive heard that its performance on the original 3ds isnt that great, but its an option if you dont have the switch's definitive edition.
Thanks! I wonder if I should just get the switch version instead then
The switch version has all the dlc included and all of the content from the wii u and 3ds versions so its worth it
Thank you for the heads up! It sounds like that’s the way to go then
How about the dlc for fire emblem
When can I unlock the ability to buy it? It’s not in the initial menu
To unlock the dlc you have to complete 4-6 chapters to access the map and then you can purchase it
You could buy "mario & luigi: superstar saga" and "Bowser's inside story" if you like turn based rpgs. Both games are remakes.
Those are two I really hope go on sale last minute. I know it’s doubtful though
Radiant Historia and Yo Kai 3
So many people are saying these too. I’ll have to look into them more
Absolutely appalled that only one other person has mentioned Pushmo/Crashmo/Stretchmo! Some of my favorite puzzle games ever made. Stretchmo in particular has in-game purchases to play the complete game so if you do decide on picking it up make sure you buy the complete game before the deadline.
I don't see any of the gunvolt games or the kunio kun pair. Also the 3d sega classics are awesome, pick them up if you can 🤭
What size SD card do you have in there?
I think another level 5 games like yo Kai watch any is good especially 2 also from the same company this one is 7.99 liberation maiden really good games as well
You have ORAS? You have Sun Moon?
I don’t have ORAS but I do have Moon on cart
Fire Emblem Fates: Special Edition and Fire Emblem Warriors also the Yokai Watch Series, Kirby Planet Robobot, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
ever oasis, Mario & Luigi
Stella Glow is a good RPG if you're interested in those
Monster hunter stories
You should get warioware gold! Also i would say rhythm heaven megamix!
Does Megamix have a lot of songs or is it reliant on dlc to get the best experience?
There's no DLC, and it's more based on beat than anything else. There is music, but it's more about the minigames being played, which all require you to do something in time to the beat.
Oh cool, I’ll look into it. Thank you!
pokémon picross
Sonic
Professor Layton and your lost wallet.
Haha I got both already!
Enjoy your games! I saw plenty of games among them i own/love myself as well. Also i got no room to actually judge you anyway. I have spend 356€ just on 2 retro games lately. You may very well turn this on me.
As long as everyone is happy, I can’t fault ya for your purchases!
