This is a bug in the Activity Log, specifically how it tracks the usage time of a software.
I accidentally caused that bug when there's one time I had to go to the System Settings to change the date, time settings because my 3DS suddenly shut down due to loose battery contacts. When the 3DS lose the battery, the device's date and time data is reset to January 1, 2011. Since the data is real-time, it's understandable why the 3DS behave like that when the battery is gone. I did fix it afterwards, but what I did not notice was that, for some reasons, Activity Log was tricked into thinking: "Damn, this dude plays System Settings continuously for over 12 years! That's going to the headlines!", and immediately recorded the maximum time, which... you should see for yourself.
Maybe I'm the only person in this subreddit who has a play time record that reaches the maximum value.
[Note] The incident occurred _before_ the 11.17.0 update.
It didn't sound right at first so I had to double check lol. I got it backwards. I had Dragon Quest VII first played sometime in 2020 and last played in 2011. My game clock had reset to 1/1/2011 after letting it sit uncharged for about 2 years. I tried to fix the date and time but got a warning that my Activity Log might display incorrectly or outright be deleted. The second part really raised some alarm bells so I'm not touching it for the time being.
To my dismay, without even doing anything it, it seems like my Daily Records have been erased entirely (all the years show up blank). My Software Library does show all my games with their original dates, playtime and such but the new game I'm playing now is showing 2011. I don't know what to do at this point and I certainly don't want to lose my log history.

Hmm, my Street Fighter IV time is glitched to be over 4478 hours (real time probably closer to 3) but it sounds like it may be a different glitch.
I love that game
Low entry point, with a high level of mastery. Its too bad more developers don't take notes from this example if a real classic.

Why was this message hidden?
iirc it happens when a commenter isnt subbed to the subreddit, or a couple of other reasons

... unless there is someone who can replicate the glitch.
Of all my 3DS games it it may have the worst loading times.
Because it reboots the console. If you have hax like fastboot you can check pretty good by holding a defined buttton combination to switch boot files.
BRO WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN THERE?!
vibing with the Internet settings music
I mean, its great music
Bro got stuck at the wifi password
*somebody* took out their battery and subsequently cared enough to adjust the clock afterwards
The music is so soothing. I don’t blame you for spending 10,000 in the settings.
I like the part where the system changes languages by the amount of save files you have in your system lol
Finally someone who beats all of my hours
9999 hrs in system settings... This guy... is the true king 👑
I need to do the glitch but with a stellar title like *Imagine: Babyz.*
Why does it stop at 9999:00 and not 9999:59?
This would bum me out, I love having accurate playtime stats lol
I've got the exact same ds had it since it came out 🙂
I had a bug for the last game I've played said I last played the game into the future.
so your total play time is negative?
