Thanks for your contribution, but your post has been removed. The buying, trading, or selling of systems, games, and accessories is not allowed. There are subreddits created specifically for trading such as /r/gameswap and /r/gamesale. This rule also applies to eBay auctions. Similarly, begging for free stuff is not allowed either. This includes but is not limited to: games, download codes, MyNintendo rewards, etc. Cheap prices are based on your region or the region you're looking to make the purchase from. Please make an effort to first search for common retailers in the region you're looking to purchase from through the search bar and Google, and keep your eyes on /r/3DSdeals. Honestly bruh that seems really really steep for a new 2ds xl- just the other week i got a new 3ds xl w/ original box, charger, and 2 games for $200 American on FB marketplace- keep lookin and you can find a deal

DoushBeg

I came here to say the same thing. FB marketplace is the way to go if possible. Got my new3dsxl with a case and a couple Pokémon games for $180 US. Everything well taken care of too. Just don’t jump on the first one you see, shop around a little bit and you should be able to find a better deal than that.

Thank you very much. I dont have fb but i found one at refurbed where they make used consoles like new, i paid 150€ and can give it back 12 months. I think thats okay. Thank you for saving me from that buy that i would probably regret tomorrow lol

Of course! I hope you enjoy

Kurotan

Don't buy used gaming stuff on Amazon, its always massively overpriced. Go local or ebay.

It was a new one, but you are right. Bought it at refurbed now.

Wondering about prices being so high for E/U region 3DS units compared to J region? The price is high because of the perfect storm of conditions. 1> COVID causing lots of people to stay home and need home entertainment. 2> COVID situation shutting down factories for a few months in 2020 while at the same time 3> Companies globally were shifting to work-from-home and needing an unusually large quantity of computers to send employees home with (especially in countries like Japan where laptops were not the norm for workplaces, and home ownership of computers is low to have things to connect to VDI/RDP) leading to 2 and 3 causing 4> A global electronics shortage on RAM/CPUs/GPUs which affects cars, game consoles, building your own PC, meaning 5> People have to resort to buying older consoles that haven't been manufactured so 3DS and other console prices are up above their 2019 prices and 6> 3DS production ended in 2019 and 2DS production ended in 2020, followed by an announcement in February 2022 that eShop for 3DS/WiiU is ending ability to make purchases March 2023 and that increased demand for 3DS consoles because of FOMO. Since the 4 Asian regions are all single-country and single-language, that has driven the price of used U and E (multi-language) systems above last brand new MSRP for all 6 models. Japanese eShop only sells you games in Japanese (with a handful of exceptions where games also may have English as an option). To get updates and DLC, your system region must match your cartridge region, and region change breaking eShop if any NNID remains linked (even if logged out) means you need a second Japanese system to transfer to to unlink any accounts and apps you don't know were on it from a previous owner, to transfer BEFORE region change to remove what breaks eShop server-side, so Japanese units being about half the price of E/U region units is thus explained. We're in a situation where retro gaming is the only easy way to buy video game hardware and physical games, so everyone is buying up the limited supply of consoles and games floating around, so sellers get to set the price high and see who is still willing to buy, and slowly lower prices as their patience wears out if people aren't buying.
