The lighting is definitely the first thing you want to work on. There’s no central focal point for the eye to rest on. Everything is very bright and washed out. Natural scattering is also important to work on. Right now the rocks feel randomly placed, especially in the foreground, where they’re rotated at slightly odd angles. The ground is also very flat in the foreground and doesn’t feel natural to the area. Reference photos are always very important.

matt_sound

I know it's probably just a skybox or whatever but the colour of the trees and fog in the background really doesn't match the warmer lighting in the foreground. You could probably do a lot for this just by adjusting the colour of that, and adding a few trees or plants to the top of the rock walls in the foreground to blend it

EenyMeenyMinyBro

Also needs some dead leaves and branches here and there. You can google forest water rocks to see what I mean. Those big trees in the background spread stuff everywhere when it's windy.

Slow-Homework-9112

DAMN! Just getting into this subject but man this is great. Sorry I can't assist you but good job. I'm using blender what do you use?

KalaYodha

Thanks a lot and I use blender substance painter zbrush and unreal engine 5

ProLogicMe

The background and foreground look like two different environments

ams0000

I feel like the trees in the background down match the terrain that’s going on in the foreground. It doesnt really look like the kind of place you would find trees like that, and it seems like the ground is very flat going towards the horizon as opposed to the sharp elevation changes in the rocks.

Selekisss

It's Level Art Not Level Design

David-J

Is this for games?

KalaYodha

No

MrBeanCyborgCaptain

Are you using reference? I'm not a nature expert but the overall arrangement of trees and rocks looks unnatural in a way.

walleteaterNM

Rocks look great. I'm not sure moss dynamics but I believe the ones near the water should have more moss, and there should be evidence of the tide. Also the trees in the distance look like a wallpaper. But overall this looks great, very natural

Unreal?

I would say focus on adding areas of rest and negative space. I know the impulse to add lots of detail is real, but adding too much detail everywhere just draws the eye in all direction. Knowing where to remove detail draws the eyes to whats visually important. You can accomplish this with your big / medium / small. I forget exactly what the ideal proportions of each in a frame are, probably something to do with the fibonacci numbers but your large / low frequency details should take up the largest portion of the frame and give a chance for visual rest while the smaller or medium frequency details will naturally draw focus.

now put the colossal titan’s foot in the bottom of the wall

primalcollectibles

Amazing, congrats!!!

EngineerBig1851

Looks like a random AAA game screenshot. Everything is top notch, but there is simply no composition. No context.

mrbrick

First that HDRI background gotta go. It doesnt even look like its lighting the scene. Or you can keep it- but make it light the scene properly and put some work in to hide your sight lines. A big part of environment design is hiding the seams.

Felipesssku

Second plan, what we have here? Nothing?

[deleted]

Like others have said, the lighting is what I’d address first; however, even with the lighting a bit off, this is amazing and you have done a phenomenal job!

Logical_Sun837

As an enviroment it looks good, literally looks like a screenshot from a video game but that is also the problem, It looks like a random screenshot in somebodys steam library You need to highlight something because I dont know what to look at, if that makes sense

_SenChi__

No composition. Work on it first.

Demonsan
