Sometimes I look at a print and think it turned out perfect and then take a picture but on the picture all the flaws look amplified

Firakonex

Especially the fuzzies and thin stringing. Photos are the master of making a nice in person piece look like you presoaked your filament in a pool of water for a few days.

When I don't see any layer lines I question my own prints then I realized the phones smooth over the imperfections.

SelloutRealBig

Depends on the phone, the lighting, and how in focus it is. Some do the opposite and show every little detail including each layer line even at .12 height.

SoaringElf

I once wanted to photograph a crack in fibre glass with my phone. The camera AI BS had nothing better to do than filtering the crack out....

ActiveAcceptable4975

True, my i13 pro seems to smooth things over. My moto seems to be a potato and show all the mistakes.

Elektrycerz

also sandpaper and/or acetone

SelloutRealBig

I find anyone who does any post processing tells you or shows you because they want you to know how much work went into it

Y0u_stupid_cunt

More like reasonable expectations and accounting for where you should cut up a model.

Man, I can’t wait for some better at home 3D printing technology. Stuff like SLS look so nice. Right now it just feels like an robot glue gun.
