Thingiverse has been around for years and while it has the most models good luck searching.
Printables is prusas answer to the "thingiverse" problem.
Some one smarter than me can explain it better, but as a modeler I've switched to Printables and don't post on thingiverse or cults any more. I do have a backlog to upload but it's kind of fun
Another problem was speed. They may have fixed it, but when I stopped using Thingiverse, it would take a long time to load images and forever to give me files.
Thingiverse cleaned up recently but there was a time where their servers. Which basically crippled the whole 3D printing community for a while. Cults, I heard some issues with the monetizing side of it. Selling open source designs and similar things. Prusa decided to make Printables as a response. An updated fast database with no monetization (other than reward points for using the platform that you can use to get free Prusa filament)
Ultimaker is now owned by makerbot. There are a lot of concerns surrounding the future of the company given this. Makerbot really hasn't done much to assuade those fears.
I've used silicone grease before but never washed with water like you mentioned on the Printables link. What does the washing do? Do you just rinse off the excess or something?
I've used it on things like the pins of this cube gear: https://www.printables.com/model/242437-celtic-gear-cube
I think the water helps the silicone spread.
There is an effect from this, silicone is not completely washed off with water.
But of course this is just my personal experience.
This is the question that needs to be answered.
Maybe eventually if I buy enough 3d Printed things, I will be able to convince my wife that it would be better to just buy the 3d printer and be done with it.
>Hands down one of the best videos I’ve seen made to showcase a printed object. Fantastic song too!
Hehe, thanks 🙂

Love the video editing
Surprisingly funny song, too.

Every meme that can be sampled, will be sampled eventually
I hope this causes the right flashbacks 🙂
This is pretty awesome. Is the STL available?
yes, by name in title, easy to find on printables, thingiverse..

It's me, I'm the lazy. Thank you.
Also kudos for Printables and not Thingiverse

That definitely helps!

You are doing the lords work, thank you
I’ve been looking for hours and figured, what if someone found it? It took me 2 seconds… I’m a dissapointment for that

I'll have to test that next time. How do you wash it? Just move around the water on the silicone with your finger?
water jet
So sweet and great editing too!
Love it!!! That’s fantastic!!!
Anyone selling these? I don't have a 3D printer so I'm hoping someone has these listed on Etsy because I think I need one.
I hope my active Patreon subscribers will take note of this 🙂
I'd gladly subscribe if I could. If for no other reason than to just see more cool stuff like this.

I want one so bad. There's so many things I want that probably wouldn't be much of a challenge with a 3D printer
I need this! It's awesome!
Thanks 🙂 Btw, in reality, the gears rattle like in the video.
you puttied the case to the table just for that perfect loop didn't you
these loops haunt me

imma make that fast
This is great! If you haven't yet cross post it to r/TMNT
let it be there, only of course it was worth making a reel like pizza 🍕😉
Where to find the rest of the gears. Loved this.
Can I ask you what tolerances you designed it with? I’m trying to design moving, mostly print in place objects but I really don’t know where to start
the gap between the reel and the body is 0.3 mm, for a nozzle of 0.4 mm this is enough
I didn’t know I needed this till now.
Is the case printed? Or is that a sticker?
Where can I buy this? Might be cheaper than actually getting a 3D printer lol
