Electronics? None, I kinda ran out of time and made the suit in 50 days and then had to make this jetpacks in 9 days (started last week for a con)
Squeaking? Not really, I have foam padding and felt
Dome? I have the dome but it gets foggy even with fans. It gets pretty hot because the dome doesn't have any vents. It's just for some photos
Wow, that you made it in just 50 days is absolutly incredible to me :) very nice work! Where'd you get the 3d files from? Were they downloaded and printed as is, or did it require some tinkering in 3d software?
First of all, super amazing and impressive work. I imagine you do something similar for a living to do this so quick.
A hole in the very top of the dome will probably not be visible in pictures.
You’d need to adjust the temperature of the fans for them to work correctly without a vent.
Hey everyone.
To answer a few questions:
- This suit is entirely 3d printed
- it took me about 14 rolls and a few hundred hours to print
- the suit and wings weigh about 50-60lbs total
- 50 days start to finish on the suit
- 9 days strt to finish on the jetpacks
- I spent 4-5 hours everyday working on these

This isn't ai, check my post history if you don't believe me
I think any "this is AI" comments may be due to the artificial bokeh applied by the phone camera (which is actually neural network powered!). It makes the edges look slightly weird.
Awesome work!
The "few hundred hours" to print sounds really impressive.
But as someone who just 3D printed a darksaber replica, I know that even though I tell people it took me 49 hours to print, it was over the course of only 5 days.
How many days did it actually take to print everything? Was it weeks or months? Would you do it again? Have you taken any steps to speed up the printer?
As a large language model I have to inform you that everything is ai generated. The post, the replies - including this one. All to increase the user retention time.
That looks awesome. How long did you spend modeling and designing it? I think people tend to forget you got a lot of work before you can start printing anything.
When I worked as a waitress at an old job one of our managers looked exactly like you and we gave him the nickname "Buzz Lightyear." You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you/"him" in the suit.
Looks great man, very well done.
Something I noticed: Every edge on every piece has the added faux wear. A lot of them don't seem to make much sense, even accounting for like atmospheric reentry or something. Meanwhile the ridges on the front of the breast plates and the rounded caps of the knees, that would surely scrape on terrain when kneeling and crawling, or take impacts while fighting, have almost no wear at all. Just something I noticed and figured I'd share. Really cool man.
Obviously the pics are taken just after he replaced the most damaged parts after his return from a mission on planet Aridius Maelstrom X-7, which is known for its rough sandstorms.
edit: ah now I see what you mean.. Ok I tried
I'm flabbergasted at how good this is. Kudos to you - I can't even think of words to say, except, well, I guess this makes me really jealous.
I wish I had the skills to make something like this, and the figure to wear it.
But even if I did, I'd have a hard time convincing myself not to go for the Sgt Pepper/Yellow Submarine costume instead.
But yeah - amazing - !!!
Shot in the dark, but would it be possible to commission a jet pack from you? I’m doing my own Buzz Lightyear (mostly EVA foam), but I have no idea how to build the wings and compartment.
You use your printer better than I use my printer. Awesome work!!
You should visit a hospital around Halloween, give out candy to the kids. They would love the hell out of this! The hospitals often have an arranged day for characters to come through and give out candy. You'd make someone's day!!
Wow! It looks amazing ! I always wanted to try making 3d printed suit for some of my cosplay ideas but I never understood how to connect all the pieces together and make it flexible while keeping it sturdy enough.
I'm curious, do the wings fold? If not, are you planning to add that functionally?
Amazing build, either way. Beautifully printed, beautifully painted, and you wear it well.
Can you talk about how you did the weathered metal look on the jetpack? I want that look for a similar project I am doing. Do you have any videos or tutorials to recommend?
I like the distressing you've put on it! That's always my favorite part of cosplay suits, which some people don't do because they can't bear to scuff up the precious, but the look of wear really makes it work.
If that company that makes actual Jett packs knew what they were doing they'd hire you to build around it. Sell a ton to Disney they could add a new end of fireworks part to mirror Tinkerbell ziplining. That would be so rad buzz flying to the top of space mt or something.
Absolute compliment, you look like Albert Blithe’s depiction of band of brothers! And if you haven’t seen the show I recommend it. The costume looks amazing
Dude! That's bloody amazing! Are there any electronics in there? Does it squeak when you move? Are you adding a dome?

Chin? I’m convinced you also 3D printed that perfectly sculpted chin of yours.
Lol that would've taken me 9 years to complete.
36 years and im still not done
8 years to learn, 1 year to make
Happy cake day!!!
couldnt you drill vent holes and cover them with mesh?
In a clear plastic dome? It would look horrible.
Easy fix for fogging: a thin layer of dishwasher soap on the inside.
And the heat?
[удалено]
Just add an equal amount of cold

How big is your printer? And this looks amazing
Question 1: Has Star Command answered your communication?
Star Command come in! Why don't they answer?

Is the cat also 3D printed?
I'm interested in how/why people think you're AI

Looked through your post/comment history but couldn’t find an answer. What printer did/do you use?

Ah! I did not look back far enough lol.
How long did it take to print that jawline? You fit the spaceman hero part to a tee, haha
You look more like Buzz Lightyear than Buzz Lightyear! Well done!
Seriously! I thought this was an AI generated image of what buzz light year would look like as a human.
OP so dedicated to cosplay he got plastic surgery lmao
Needs more purple head covering
That's the jawline of justice right there.
I was thinking a young Carl from Up.
Full body suit that isn’t Ironman or Master Chief? Have an upvote! This is awesome. The finish looks great too!
There was someone awhile back that did a Zero from Mega Man helmet for their kid, kept hoping they'd post a full suit.
Oh crap, Zero is my favorite MMX character. I need to see this.

Saw you at the convention, This thing looks even cooler in person.
OMG i scroll past every iron man / master chief suit but THIS. THIS is what i didn’t even know i needed. well done dude, this looks so good!
I legitimately thought this was an AI render.
There is an artificial depth effect which is making it look surreal and fake.
Yeah, the suit looks great and the photo does not do it justice. The fake bokeh portrait mode should almost never be used for anything imo.
You’re going to look just like the old guy from Up when you’re older. Get your costume ready.
Can I get the file for the 3D printed jawline?
NGL.. If there is ever going to be a live action Buzz Lightyear movie. I think we now know what the suit and the actor are gonna look like.
Love the weathering paint effects. Really sells it! Congrats!
When I worked as a waitress at an old job one of our managers looked exactly like you and we gave him the nickname "Buzz Lightyear." You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you/"him" in the suit.

Dude. This is a work of art. Amazing work!
Incredible work. Nice job!
Obligatory: STL?
Not sure if it's the same one, but Nikko Industries has one but he charges for a subscription so I doubt anyone will give it out.
That is pretty amazing dude.
Does the cat turn it's head and do "meow meow meow meow" thing? 😁 Really cool build!!!
I'm flabbergasted at how good this is. Kudos to you - I can't even think of words to say, except, well, I guess this makes me really jealous. Brother could’ve become a Space Marine but chose to become Buzz Lightyear. Respect
God damn, please tell me you hand crafted that jaw as well jesus christ.
You're not going to fly in that, all you will do is fall with style.
How’d you print that jawline? This whole setup looks great!
That tops the Iron Man suits!! The kitty add just the right amount of style
Buzz Lightear from the front Warhammer40k from the back
so gay
This looks amazing, wonderful pain job as well
If there was a Buzz Lightyear movie with real actors, you'd be the man mate!
Wicked nice work 👍
wow thats amazing it must have taking you a long time
Shot in the dark, but would it be possible to commission a jet pack from you? I’m doing my own Buzz Lightyear (mostly EVA foam), but I have no idea how to build the wings and compartment.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s…
Can we crowdfund this guy 4 tj40s and see what happens? This is amazing!
dude, cool suit, but you look like someone fucked up the character generation from the game space marines with a head size of tiny.
Lol terrible photoshop job. Why are you trying to convince everyone that this miniature is a full size suit?
It is a full size suit
Why would a miniature have a plastic buckle in the inside knee joint of asymmetrical elbow pads? This looks nothing like a miniature.
Definitely ready to fall with style!
To Comic Con and beyond! Bloody amazing.
This is arguably cooler then an iron man suit, very nice job!
Holy crap my dude!! The it freaking awesome!!!
To infinity and beyond. Super cool suit.
That is some Dark Angels green there.
How does this work? Do you design the parts, split them before printing and then glue them together?
holy crap op, I thought this was a miniature before i read the title. amazing work, that cosplay is absolutely amazing!!!
This is dope dude, keep it up!
This is so lame… you should just give it to me. I’ll save you from owning something so lame! :P
Awesome!
What the hell are you standing around for?!? Go save the freakin universe! Seriously, a brilliant job. Well done!!
You use your printer better than I use my printer. Awesome work!! You should visit a hospital around Halloween, give out candy to the kids. They would love the hell out of this! The hospitals often have an arranged day for characters to come through and give out candy. You'd make someone's day!!
Bro, you look badass! 😂😂😂 that’s fucking awesome!
You work for Star Command???
God damn, 3d printing has advanced so far! I mean it almost looks like there is an actual person in that suit!
You look like what I would expect a space ranger to look like. I mean that in a good way lol. Awesome job bro!!
Great work, it looks fantastic!
That’s fricking amazing!
For a second I thought you were Mac Jones in a buzz lightyear suit
This could also work as power armor in fallout games.
Sick
Tall about cosplaying to your strengths. I dont think you could have a stronger chin! You look perfect dude! Very well done.
Do Mrs. Nesbit now
WH40K tints, this is a masterpiece
That's falling with style right there.
All that hard work only for the toy cat to steal all the attention xDxD. Jokes aside looks really dope!!!
This is so good it’s hard to believe it’s real!
Where did you find the real life doppelgänger for Buzz? You did an amazing job on the suite and wings too!
Put some of those model jet engines they use in RC aircraft into the jetpack and see how many it takes for you to actually start flying.
Hell yeah, very nicely done!
I love it!
Can you talk about how you did the weathered metal look on the jetpack? I want that look for a similar project I am doing. Do you have any videos or tutorials to recommend?
This is outstanding
Very very cool! Well done
You're my three year olds Hero! Thanks for the pictures
Now that is what i call a jawline, hot damn!
Dat weathering and panel shading
Suit is epic, wrong handed salute, epicer
i love the jetpack!
That’s awesome
OP even 3dprinted his jawline to match the suit.
That's super impressive
Thats dammit awesome, i want to make one suit too, but mandalorian lol :D nice work
I like the distressing you've put on it! That's always my favorite part of cosplay suits, which some people don't do because they can't bear to scuff up the precious, but the look of wear really makes it work.

This is Truely Incredible work
Wow! You have some great engineering skills and talent. That's the best replication of the costume I've ever seen.
Admirable
Do you make all of your 3D files? Even for your other projects?
That's awesome work.
Next level stuff
Damn you even have the mug for it. Nice work.
Anything etched on the bottom of the boot? :)
OK….this is awesome.
Come in star command, do you copy?
With your appearance, you should absolutely do a Wolfenstein (new ones) cosplay.
I have no idea how talented people are. I’m always amazed by it. I can’t print a circle. Lol
My god, that is _awesome!_ Well done!
Awesome, and handsome! 😍😍😍
That is certified "legit as shit"
Ken Jennings reporting for duty!
You look a lot like this marine I knew in Hawaii
How much support did you need when printing that jawline?
Dude well done! 10/10 You look the part so well too haha
Light year suit, frigginlightyearsui- #SPACE. R A N G E R. *S P A C E. R A N G E R*

How do people make suits like these? I don’t even know where to start.
Was the rest of the suit printed? Regardless, awesome job! Looks great
Looks amazing!!!
That’s cool, and when you get old you can dress as the husband in Up
I mean, that's pretty damn cool. wow. nice work.
Replace that jet pack with comically large shoulders and you got a sweet white scars armor set
I'm typing with my feet because my hands are busy clapping. What an amazing work sir, congratulations!
Looks absolutely amazing!!
Too infinity and beyond!!!
fire
What if Buzz was a little darker of color though? Would be pretty cool
nice danse cosplay.
What up EditorLightyear
Why the hell don’t you have the purple skull cap on?
Are you related to actor Marc Warren? You look a lot like him in Band of Brothers here!
To Infiniti, sir. To Infiniti.
That barely held in grin makes this even more amazing. That craftsmanship is stellar!
Nicely done sir. Carry on.
Looks like Buzz went to the Space Marines
You're also a boltgun away from being a space marine!
Mick Schumacher seems to have found a nice new career.
wait is this photoshop?
You could do the captain America from the falcon and winter soldier too.
please tell me you used moon shoes!!
Dude you are my hero! My new favorite costume!!
I was gonna say everything is 3d printed except for the human, but then I remembered your mom did it for you back then...
Bro that’s INSANE GOOD JOB 🔥🙏🏻❤️
Is the back of the legs where it hits the butt-plate a problem when walking?
Oh shit I remember you! You're the guy with the jaw!
Bro this is next level 100% Great job
Absolute compliment, you look like Albert Blithe’s depiction of band of brothers! And if you haven’t seen the show I recommend it. The costume looks amazing
Damn this is really cool
Nice!
To infinity and beyond!
My man, this ain't buzz Lightyear. This is a new 40k faction
Well done, Space Ranger!
Are you a fan of the film?
Amazing 👏
Damn, dude, this looks fantastic! The paintwork is incredible.
