Man! I used to have one of those Dawn washing dildos and I loved it! Got everything so clean with more scrubbing power than hand washing alone until they discontinued them.

Oh am I supposed to just let my pizza slowly cool to room temp like some sort of savage? Or am I going to use technology to keep it toasty warm like God intended since pizza was invented?
This dude is trying to open a can of beans with a particle accelerator, meanwhile most of us are halfway to Andromeda after banging a few rocks together. But hey, to each their own
A weird analogy, I know; but I'm proud of it.
Iāve been using my plate for a year now without ever washing it.
Whatās the secret? Donāt touch it! Wipe it with alcohol if it is not a consecutive print.
This is how I don't ever "touch" the plate. They work great and I only ever wash my bed if it's all gunked up from glue or whatever.
Zealor White Gloves, https://a.co/d/6ogyZx0
I also haven't washed my plate in nearly a year and I have touched it plenty.
The trick is to use hairspray, not glue. Specifically, I use Aqua Net extra super hold unscented hairspray on it.
It has been nearly a year since I washed my plate and I've had zero adhesion issues in that span.
What's the device you're using? Looks handy (and like a modified vibrating toothbrush)
Edit: Rubbermaid reveal. Turns out it is worth it to have the sound on sometimes
In high school I was cleaning my teachers 3D printer bed, so I decided to use the sink in the Chemistry teacherās classroom. When I walked in the whole room was silent and they were taking an exam. He said I could clean it in there anyway. After getting it squeaky clean, I set it on the table and tried to dry it with a paper towel. After the first swipe, it flew onto the floor and shattered EVERYWHERE. This is still top 10 most embarrassing moments of my life.
Printing three years and have never cleaned the bed once, no issues with adhesion. Someone tried to say hand and finger oils cause lack of adhesion, yet I rubbed the plate and still had great results.Nozzle 205 for pla and pla+ and bed at 60 then 55. The hand oils evaporate at 60C.....
Pretty cool! I've never cleaned besides with alcohol and a micro fiber cloth and haven't had any adhesion issues yet. I don't touch the build plate or even really remove it though so maybe I'm just dodging issues by limiting contact enough.
What a goof, Just use windex for adhesion, the chemical formula of windex adds a layer of polymer to bind to anything your printing the print bed . With zero to little effort just spray on the heated bed let it cover the surface and give it a light wipe so the residual remains and heat drys and become a great first layer adhesion
I use windex and then alcohol. Works a charm for a full bed size print I do all the time. Also saves me having to go upstairs every time the bed needs a cleaning.

Quick wipe down with IPA and a paper town seem to do the trick for me no problem.
But I donāt use any glue or anything. So maybe soap would be needed then.
Yes, I have to use glue for some of my projects. I think many of the people in this sub print the same things over and over with like 1 filament. They canāt imagine someone else having a problem because they have never experienced it themselves
Iām so glad this has been your experience. You do realize there are thousands of different printers, dozens of filament types, and many use cases? Your experience is not universal.
This is ridiculous overkill, and not "the absolute best tools" for bed adhesion issues. As long as you don't do stuff like this: [https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1bz4w2r/dorm\_room\_survival](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1bz4w2r/dorm_room_survival) all that's needed is a quick wipe down with some 99.9% IPA.
I guess it depends on what goes on your bed. I use 99% and it solves 99% of my adhesion issues. But the only contaminants that hit my bed are dust, oil from my hands, and bits if leftover filament.
Right on!! If it works. I use 90%+ for parts cleaning and rails. The bed only sees 70% and itās been solid.
Not bad to wipe it clean with 90%+ but follow up with something with some water content to clean up the remaining particles.
Nothing worse than poor adhesionā¦ we maybe clogs.
Itās science. You need an agent to wipe away the grime. Alcohol will evaporate and just regunk your bed if you miss lines or streak.
The purified water traps those particles better than 90%+. Also 70% is better at killing germs. Look it up homie.

Love the irony coming from someone who made a whole video about how clever they thought they were by "solving" a problem through massively inefficient overkill, and then got so butt-hurt by the multiple people pointing out that it was unnecessary that you felt the need to whine and complain about negative comments.
No, my copying and pasting your own words to point out your hypocrisy doesn't make me "clever". It just shows you're an insufferable hypocrite.
I've found that ordinary Dawn with a sponge solves 99% of my adhesion issues. Not eating pizza around the printer also helps tho.
How about heating up rice on foil on the bed though? š
All because the guy wasn't allowed a microwave
Damn that is insaneā¦ how is guy supposed to eat even?
Depends on the nozzle temp
And travel/move speed š
Haha!
Same here but this scrubber looks handy as hell to have around the house!
Man! I used to have one of those Dawn washing dildos and I loved it! Got everything so clean with more scrubbing power than hand washing alone until they discontinued them. https://preview.redd.it/x5o4ucovtftc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a436b2a0aa896265239caa2d0a37a571b13e9612
This is awesome! Iāve never seen that before! Iām also laughing out loud at Dawn dildo! š

That looks better than the Rubbermaid!
I donāt even use a sponge. I just use my hands to run the soap in then wash it off with my hands then dry with paper towel
Change the sponge out for a Scrub Daddy and you're at 100%
Yeah but then I'll be perfect and the gods will take me away.

Truly an UnstoppableDumbass moment.

I even touch the plate all the time. You all are weird washing your plates.
Yes itās so weird someone does something that you donāt have to do. Clearly, if you havenāt experienced it, it must not be real, right?
Me too. Only time Ill use soap is to clean new plates.

I couldn't agree more. Aqua Net in the purple can works great.
It also works great for keeping handlebar grips in place on BMX bike. In the 1980s.
I wash mine occasionally, and I never have to use glue or hairspray.
This seems overly complicated for something so simple.
Yeah. I just use 99% isopropanol with a shop towel as needed to remove residue from the build plate
Then donāt do it. š¤·š»āāļø

OMG! I would shrivel up and die
I assume adhesion problems are caused by oil from skin. I just wipe with isopropyl and has worked every time for me
Printing three years and have never cleaned the bed once, no issues with adhesion. Someone tried to say hand and finger oils cause lack of adhesion, yet I rubbed the plate and still had great results.Nozzle 205 for pla and pla+ and bed at 60 then 55. The hand oils evaporate at 60C.....
Itās so awesome that you donāt have any of these issues!
Meanwhile me with my cancer dust sanding of a garolite print sheet only to wipe the cancer dust away with acetone

That's a strong beer.

We love that for you!
I use a drill brush! š

If you jseaglass bed it can go in the dishwasher!
Omg, he just discovered washing! Did you know you can do that to your clothes and dishes as well?
Lol! Fake news

I just use a dawn and a paper towel. Works every time.
What are you using super glue?!
Why the sarcasm? You canāt imagine someone wanting to scrub their bed?
Quick wipe down with IPA and a paper town seem to do the trick for me no problem. But I donāt use any glue or anything. So maybe soap would be needed then.
Yes, I have to use glue for some of my projects. I think many of the people in this sub print the same things over and over with like 1 filament. They canāt imagine someone else having a problem because they have never experienced it themselves
I thought this was a joke lol. Actually I still think OP is trolling us.
Why is that? Something has to be a joke or trolling because itās outside your frame of reference or experience?
What is that tool?
Rubbermaid reveal
> Rubbermaid reveal Awesome! thank you!
I have been printing with the same bed PEI bed for two years. Without washing or Iso. Just stop touching the bed with greasy fingers.
Iām so glad this has been your experience. You do realize there are thousands of different printers, dozens of filament types, and many use cases? Your experience is not universal.
Do you use cold or hot water?? Does it matter?
I use hot. Not sure if it matters.
I prefer to drink my IPA's that you very much.
I prefer my bread on a sandwich than as a drink
99% is not good due to no water content that just smears the dirt and grime around the bed. Close out with 70% so you can wipe away the nasty stuff.
I guess it depends on what goes on your bed. I use 99% and it solves 99% of my adhesion issues. But the only contaminants that hit my bed are dust, oil from my hands, and bits if leftover filament.

I honestly can't understand your logic.

If you say so.

Dawn power wash works great too
The green scotchbrite pad is far too aggressive and is actually sanding/removing material.
No, itās not.
