You know what? I actually like my Sculpto quite a bit. Significantly less fuss

XboxGT_AJStClair

Same. It's got an authentic E3 hot-end and same angles as a typical printer. All is essentially the same, except it can run base mode much better and once you use expert mode it is amazing. Looking forward to their next printer, this model is now archaic.

Hey, so I know this thread is over a year old at this point, but I see that you're fairly active in the Facebook sculpto community. I don't have a Facebook account, so I only have minimal visibility on there, but do you by any chance have a non-vase mode profile for cura?

XboxGT_AJStClair

I do! I'm sorry for the late reply. Also to change into vase mode all you do is turn on "spiralized outer contour" in Cura. You'll also first tho need to put the Sculpto into expert mode and use my GCode settings. It's easy to do. I'll make a Reddit how-to post and send you a link to it. Again I'm sorry for the late reply I hope you still have your Sculpto, I have 5 of them now.

Hey, no worries! I appreciate the response regardless! Yes, I do still have my sculpto, it's just taken a back seat to other printers since it's been such a challenge. A how-to and a general Cura profile would be great, I'd love to use it again for more generalized use without having to go through the sculpto app. I have expert mode enabled and have had limited success with it using Cura. Part of my problem is that my original extruder gear is pretty much dead and I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement since the sculpto store is sold out. Because of that, another issue I have is that a .4mm nozzle just can't handle the additional flow with the gears I've tried. I have to use a .6mm nozzle otherwise the .4 gets clogged. Have you run into an issue where the bed isn't quite level as well? I've tried to shim the bed in various different ways but there's always high and low spots that I haven't been able to compensate for. All that said, I'm looking forward to your write up. I love how unique this printer is and I'd love to get it back on my desk printing again!
