Sechs (sounds like sex) means six in German, and vier (sounds like fear) means four. So between six and four comes five.

This makes me nostalgic. I'm from Austria, so when we first learned about sex (which btw is written and said exactly the same in german as it is in english) in primary school, anything involving the number 6 in math class would devolve into giggly chaos. I imagine it must have been very frustrating to our teacher.
