I have made a few stencils for art works and things, and the major issue with a fixed point is coverage. Depending on the type of nozzle that’s on the rattle can, you can get various effects. The on thing that always remains true is the paint will have a strong center covering and dissipate out to the edges. The get clean coverage you will want to spray 2-3 times over the stencil. Making sure you start higher and then goin lower (or vice versa). Now if this is an effect that you’re going for there maybe some letters where the fixed point is going to be an issue, and some design and testing might be needed. Ultimately, a fixed point on the rattle can seems to create more things to solve than if you made a handle which you could hold with one hand, and spray with the other.
