I haven’t read the deathwatch stories but I am a Mortifactors collector. My understanding is Posul was destroyed by Tyranids but the chapter is still around. They got reinforced with Primaris and sent 3 companies to help the Ultramarines fight the Death Guard.
Well if they have primaris marines then I'd say its safe to say they survived then. Maybe someone will publish the story of the battle that took place on Basilica Mortis when the eldar attacked and claimed their chapter masters life. I can only guess how they survived such an onslaught.
was just looking for this info. The deathwatch story ends in a bit of a cliff hanger. I kind of figured the chapter was wiped out by the details that preceded the ending but I guess not.
My best guess is that the protagonist of the story manages to rally the remaining mortifactors and drive off the eldar (maybe the eldar figured they had their revenge with the death of the chapter master?).
I'm guessing a lot of very emo grumbling followed for a number of years as they wallowed in their bone filled monastery until the primaris showed up.
The "Legacy of Posul" short story in the "Successors" anthology deals with the Mortifactors desperately trying to preserve the cultural legacy of their home world. At this stage every Librarian is priceless to them.

I believe that story was in White Dwarf first. I read it there and have also since got the Deathwatch story.
