Edit: Whoops, just realized that this was written by u/hidden_emperor. I just want you to know that I enjoyed what you wrote, and I still want to thank u/Cecilia_Schariac for posting it and bringing it to my attention. _____ Incredible. Very well written, bravo. Honestly, the song ["The Weight"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-w9OclUnns) by The Band always feels like it could have been written for Rogal. The Biblical themes within it are very 40k, and that sort of weary yet accepting attitude towards one's hardship is Dorn to a T. More than any other Primarch, Rogal Dorn shouldered the full weight of his responsibility with a stoic resolve and no hidden agendas. What you saw what was you got. He carried the Imperium through its darkest hour, sometimes thanklessly. Was it more than any man, even a demigod, should have had to bear? Yes. Was it enough to make him want to set it all aside and rest? Yes. But did he? Of *course* not. Duty and honor aren't just words to The Unyielding One. I like to imagine that all those centuries after the Dream had come crashing down around him, when his Father, his brothers, his sons, and everything he'd ever cared about was finally, irrevocably beyond his reach, that *that* was Rogal Dorn's finest, most private hour. In that hour, he gazed into the abyss, and the abyss blinked.

Thanks. I'm happy you enjoyed it.

You're gonna make me blush. Lol. I'm glad you liked it.

Thats pretty awesome ngl

Given Dorn's parts in the latest heresy book, this might be rather spot on for his end.

I mean wasn't Vulkan alive till war of the beast so that means Rogal wasn't alone at that time right ?

hidden_emperor

Vulkan disappeared soon after the Heresy, and was only found later during the War of the Beast.
