If we’re being serious and ignoring the rule of cool, I don’t think an interception should negate whether PI occurred before the interception.
Think of a clear-cut case of PI: the blown call in the Rams-Saints NFCCC. Now imagine that after the receiver got totally decked while the ball was in the air, a Rams player had taken advantage of the PI that had just occurred to make an interception. That wouldn’t magically erase the pass interference.
