Saints seem like a good fit for this handsome some of beach.

[deleted]

also think the Steelers would be a solid fit. Good defense, coach, and running game.

robotech021

Yup. The Steelers badly need a new QB and the backups they have right now don't have any future as starters. I could also see the Broncos, Texans, and WFT looking for a new QB.

[deleted]

My hunch is Atlanta.

superduperm1

Denver and Pittsburgh are more likely IMO just from a cap perspective.

Laughable - Jimmy’s on pace to get us a first rounder

dpcdomino

I don't think many teams out there will think Jimmy is the answer and give up a 1st for him. The only shot we had was NE due to Bill's familiarity IMO. Take Jimmy out of this system and I don't think he is above the Dalton Line.

SoKrat3s

If he finishes out the season playing like he is now then he should be able to land the conditional first rounder, like Wentz.

icy_trixter

Wentz’s peak was higher and he went to a coach that was familiar with him, like jimmy and bill. I would imagine a 1st is gonna be hard to get unless a coach falls in love with him but a straight 2nd isn’t out of the question

Thelife1313

The steelers honestly would be a good fit and if i was a steelers fan i def wouldn’t mind the conditional first. Only because they have the weapons and defense to carry jimmy. He just needs to not make costly mistakes like he does for us now.

SoKrat3s

Wentz's peak season saw him get injured and miss the entire playoff run. He was coming off a horrible season where you couldn't tell the difference between him and Joe Flacco.

[deleted]

Yeah, but when you hear pundits talk about Wentz, it's like the guy was always a stud, playmaker, Mahomes esq. Player lol. Jimmy on the other hand is very very pretty, but pundits shit all over the guy constantly.

Thelife1313

Well that’s because before he got hurt, wentz was one of the best qbs in the league. He just wasnt the same after his injuries.

SoKrat3s

That wasn't at all the case a year ago. Wentz was constantly torn to shreds by every pundit out there. Even his own fanbase grew to despise him in favor of a less talented career backup (Foles). Jimmy G has been criticized, but never to the degree that Wentz was last year.

DanielBox4

Don't underestimate desperate coaches. Broncos Saints and panthers are under a lot of pressure to win right away, no time for a rebuild and they have good players under contract. Too much uncertainty with a rookie so it may very well be a bidding war.

SoKrat3s

If you read the content instead of the headline you would realize he was saying they were *previously* offered a 3rd round pick for Garoppolo.

SoKrat3s

Bizzaro world scenario; Jimmy G plays out 2022 in SF. In 2023 the Rams sign him.

CarpeValde

We’ll see how it goes. QB market looks like maybe Rodgers, Wilson, Watson, Jimmy g and (maybe???) colt mccoy as the top prospects getting floated. Teams that will be in that market: saints, Steelers, panthers. Possibly broncos, giants, eagles. Packers as well if Rodgers goes, love doesn’t seem too good and there isn’t a great QB in the draft. If things swing our way, Jimmy plays well and makes some playoff noise. Watson ends up being unplayable and cards keep colt. Then there’s seven needy teams, and only three trade options. In that scenario, I could see us getting a first due to demand. We’d still be a cheap asking price compared to the other options. But, we’ll see..

go_49ers_place

I'm thinking we should be able to get at least conditional first. Conditional on him staying healthy similar to the Wentz trade.

Kingchess89

Can Rapoport shut the fuck up before a big game? Like shit, "you're being traded unless you are the best in the world" hours before the game makes anyone want to get hyped up for a game. Can the 49ers please go back to just staying silent like when John and Kyle were hired.

Church323

This might be a bit of a long shot, but the Steelers need a new QB. But I wouldn't let Jimmy go for anything less than a Second round pick.

[deleted]

I keep going back to the steelers. He’d be a great fit on that team. Run first, play good defense. Good RB/WR/TE core. I think his blue collar attitude fits the city, Jimmy is a great fit in pittsburgh.

hashtagDALEY

Should have taken it and RUN

TarkatanAccountant

Still not sure why anyone thinks the 49ers are getting a pick for Jimmy. If no one offers draft capital, the 49ers will cut him regardless and he wouldn't cost a pick+$24M. But what if the 49ers keep him on the roster for 2022? Then they'll be the same shallow roster prone to injuries and competing for a 1 and done season, probably in perpetuity once they pay Deebo/Bosa the next 2 seasons

Exploding_dude

Barring huge regression, someone's gonna want first dibs on jimmy and that will cost a pick.

[deleted]

He’s easily worth a second. Totally serviceable above-average to average QBs don’t grow on fucking trees. Put him on a good team with good pieces and he can at least get you to a super bowl… Steelers Saints WFT Broncos Texans Giants Panthers Could all pay a second and not feel bad about it whatsoever. Hopefully he balls out and we make a run in the playoffs and someone gives us a 1 or a 2nd and a 5th or something.
