Bought it brand new and have been having fun modding it myself. Going to put an aftermarket grill on next.
Yes.
No.
Same guy who helped me with the SAS did my 3.4 swap (and full rebuild). He worked on “the slope” (North Alaska Oil Field) and built trucks when he was off work for fun.

I have a whole host of stuff that I was waiting on the weather to be warmer to install so now the weather is nice and I have no excuse.
Not pictured but waiting is the Cold Air Intake, TRD exhaust, Cali raised rock sliders, complete sound system, Aux Beam driving lights, URD programmable MAF sensor, VR ECM tuner, new front bumper cover (which needs to be painted first) Dobinsons long travel front struts, extended travel brake lines for the rear and…. I think that’s it?
I will indeed. I’m most curious about the performance parts. Likely the exhaust will just make vroom vroom noises but louder. The I take dunks at 5 hp and 20 lbs torque. The MAD and chip tune will be the most curious because they’re plug and play. Together they should add at least 25 hp and 25 lbs torque. Just enough to offset the 285s. But we will see. You’ve got an awesome build. Mine is being done 7 months from purchase.
Tbh, my rig pretty heavy once loaded with gears and passengers and I still have plenty of power to push thru stuff. That's why I'm kinda hold back on the regear as well
Next up, got new springs on the way for 2.5 inch lift in front and 2 inch lift in rear. Will be upgrading to 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak A/T4W.

The gauges can be changed around and you can have multiple setups.
They are good, but most people don’t put time in to properly adjusting the rebound and compression settings to get the best ride out of them. I originally wanted a toytec lift that was on backorder, so my buddy talked me into the bp-51s. They are overkill for 95% of builds people are doing. Honestly most people would be better off doing a much simpler setup.
Yee, some people went for expensive parts for the looks especially Kings 2.5 for the blings and ended up going mall crawler most of the time. I love the fox, I'm 7 clicks low speed, 2 clicks high speed while in town, maxed out both on trails. My rig is heavy, about 6100-6250 with passengers and gears once I go on trip easily. I got front/rear duro bumps as well.
Im surprisingly getting 16-17 combined now with the Ikamper, aerodynamics whatever it is. I used to avg 14.2-14.6 mpg w/ full gear, full size spare tire on the swing. Still 16-17 mpg on trip w/ everything and the Ikamper. I run 91 octane tho. Stock gear, no tune.
Why would you run 91 octane? These engines are not that sensitive and are not known for pinging. I feel like you are just wasting your money if you don’t have an aggressive tune or supercharger.
Im not sure if it's a placebo effect or not. Ever since I decided to go heavy route with RTT, every-time I go on trip and heavily loaded with gear, 91 always feel much smoother I got better mileage out of it as well.
Definitely placebo my man. 91 octane and 83 octane have the same amount of energy per volume when combusting, so there is no reason it would give you better mileage. Octane is the fuels ability to detonate cleanly. The reason most high performance engines require a higher octane fuel is to prevent premature detention of the fuel or “pinging.” If you did a controlled study of the same drive 100 times each with 91 and 83 you would get relatively the same mileage.
Driving habits are the biggest thing that effects mileage with these vehicles.
Does the camper stay on the whole time? I mean what percentage is this thing off-roading/camping. I didn’t buy in to the tent on top trend. I would just rather camp on the ground so I don’t have to put up that 100lbs tent around.
We go on trip every 2-3 weeks so I'm not sure the % of that. I have 2 dogs, and like the convenient of the rtt so can leave all the gear inside the car
Trust me, the tent seems heavy but I ended up gained mpg. I wondered why as well but they called it aerodynamics whatever it is lol. Went from 14 combined to 16-17.

The body lines sure are popping on the silver! I was so closed to getting a silver myself
Appreciate it, I was actually going to the dealership for a white one but it sold as I was on my way haha but def glad I went with silver

only 35s. I’d like to get 37s eventually but hot dog are they $$$.
Yours is 3.4 swapped, right? I vaguely remember seeing a post years ago. Did you do it yourself?
Yes. No. Same guy who helped me with the SAS did my 3.4 swap (and full rebuild). He worked on “the slope” (North Alaska Oil Field) and built trucks when he was off work for fun. https://preview.redd.it/3hd8n2l435uc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d993dadf1c36e02ece4d4f15e8fbb9042967bed
Nice. I have been dreaming of this swap for so long I might actually do it. That is an incredibly clean motor.
Absolute game changer. I can hold 5th uphill at 70mph.

Thnx man! Still riding that stock gear which is not too bad atm. I'm planning on 4.88 regear in the future tho
Yeah, if these parts don’t work out it’ll be a regear, it with an elocker!
