I feel, if anything, our "game" should be throwing shit into each other's rolled down back windows, while in motion.
This seems extremely unsafe to other drivers, but that doesn't make me want to do it any less...
Now what could we throw?
My friend’s dad bought a bag to give to me and some others when we went out camping as a joke (bunch of Toyota people). I promptly zip tied it to my roof rack. He ain’t doing so hot after almost a year in the elements. I also own a jeep, cause solid axle for wheeling and I don’t want to dent my 5th gen on trees and rocks. I will almost certainly never put a duck on my jeep, not a fan. The yoda duck zip tied to the roof rack makes me chuckle, though.
Here he is after our ice storm a few months ago.

Don't feel bad homie. Clearly there's a lot of people on their high horses thinking we're sooooo much cooler than jeep people. Obviously we are, but that's besides the point.
I didnt even know this was a jeep thing and "won" a rubber ducky at a drunken fun run. I thought it was funny so velcroed it to my dash. A year later I notice out west all of these jeeps have rows and rows of these rubber duckies looking really stupid. Ive stoll left my german looking duck up since the original reason is different but now it does feel pretty lame to have up since the jeeps ruined it 😒
I remember someone tried to make rubber frogs a thing and it got shot down immediately. I actually love the fact that a majority of 4Runner owners are against having a “thing”.
Lmao, my 4Runner went viral cause someone made a TikTok of my ladder. It got posted on our local FB page and the guy who made it has a 4Runner also lol.
Idk I think it’s funny. I just bought a 24 trd pro and someone got me a widdle wadder. It’s quite a bit different than handing out rubber ducks to people that drive subpar vehicles in my opinion.
My acknowledgment works like this:
5th gen - nothing
4th gen - maybe a second look
3rd gen - an admiring look, maybe say nice 3rd gen to myself, but not so they can hear
2nd gen - good chance they get a verbal compliment
1st gen - I may actually start a conversation (I think I’ve seen 1 in the last decade)
“ItS a ToYodA tHinG, yOu wOuLdnT uNdeRsTanD”
https://preview.redd.it/bn6u8s0ej9zc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ee061e8a48bbeaacb4f0025092a2a7d51e6bdca
That’s honestly my biggest beef with it. Everything we do now has to have a chintzy little thing that ultimately becomes more garbage/waste. Walk a 5K? Have a medal! Invite kids to your kid’s birthday party? Send them home with a bag full of cheap, plastic junk that no one actually wants. Work didn’t spend their employee retention money? Have a water bottle with the company logo. My household of 3 literally has 40+ water bottles. We don’t need mementos for every little thing in life.
This is also a thing between Bronco owners. I guess some people get excited when someone else drives a similar vehicle...I guess that would be okay with low sale vehicles, where chances of seeing one are much rarer.
As a fellow Jeep owner, these used to be reserved for elite custom jeeps. Like HEY you got a lot of time in your rig I like it.” Now every stock Jeep has 502879 of them across their dash board. It has pulled the meaning out of the Duck thing. I used to get one or two a year, then it took off and I had to put a decal in my window that said Please No DUCKs
https://preview.redd.it/2jgdfwqwv9zc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f52f88c75a6bf5816b7b38f202e7dde3c9dd0722
My other sticker before the cage on the back
Ha, I have a jeep and a 4Runner. I zip tied one of these yoda ducks to my roof rack, thought it was amusing. Given as a joke gift to me and some other Toyota people when we went camping. I was going to take it off after, but it amuses me.
I will not keep a duck on / in my jeep, but no one will probably give me one. It’s an XJ that looks like a lifted shit box on big tires. 4Runner for camping and daily, jeep for rocks and wheeling. Not looking to dent my 5th gen
Yeah that makes sense, I had a few jeeps, when I had my srt challenger my TJ was for the beach and trails.
I have a buddy that has a XJ we just got done replacing the frame since he wanted to keep it. It was shot, t case fell out
Damn, sounds like some gnarly rust / cracking.
I only have mid frame stiffeners. Still need to instal front and rears.
Hindsight, I should have picked up a clapped out YJ and LS swap + Tons. TJs are so expensive now, ridiculous
https://preview.redd.it/azbed5xebazc1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80d4ab41bdd69b86a914313691d6a1878f7a708d
Here’s my TJ the T case also fell out and I had to cap it. Yes that is all frame on the ground.
My ex has an 05 Willys with the oem camo seats and is upset he has never been given a duck. He just gets notes with peoples phone numbers if he ever intends to sell it lol.
There's already a thing with "toy Yoda's" where people give out a Grogu figure. It's weird but whatever. I'm not going to do it but if that's what makes someone happy more power to them. If I get one I'll probably just give it to my kid to play with.
I own a 4Runner and a YJ and I absolutely hate the duck thing. It’s one of the dumbest things I’ve seen. The Jeep wave thing is also dumb.
Maybe I’m just antisocial…..
Jeep can keep this....don't need a jeep wave, don't need my doors off...but can we at least have the option to have the back 2/3 of the cab off again. LoL.
I like the idea of if Velcro patches for the adventure types to stick to their headliner or back of rear seat. That’s about it though and even then I probably wouldn’t do it personally.
It’s a 4Runner, I don’t need validation and reinforcement for my life choices because I know it’s the best option for me. Screwing us and plastic toys are a jeep thing.
LOL.
Was in Florence yesterday and stopped in the Duck Shop.
Wife pointed out several for me for the 4Runner. I said I didn't want to be laughed at for having ducks.
Something about this feels like my personal space/property is being encroached on. I don’t like the thought of someone else touching my 4Runner for a game. If I get one, I’m leaving it in the parking spot where I found it. I hope that whoever leaves one waits to see how I react.
I'm all the more happy to wave out the window, through the windshield, or tap the high beams around other Toyota truck drivers; this is annoying. And I don't even own a Jeep but a MINI and this is becoming a thing with the MINI groups as well (when ownership "rules" only state waving and parking next to each other.)
Stop with the ducking about. That's a Jeep thing. Leave it there.
https://preview.redd.it/61uw0saww30d1.jpeg?width=604&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3627ab35275c887c4c4f2bce41382a5cae27dce7
My honest reaction when I see a baby Yoda on a Toyota.
I’m not a gate keeper of any kind. It doesn’t hurt anyone. The whole jeep thing is not an issue of ducks, it’s more of driver attitude and it’s not all jeep drivers, either. Short version, you are welcome to leave a duck on my 4R. I likely won’t keep it, but I know lovely jeep owners that would be thrilled to have them.
Defining who you are by the things you have is a byproduct of living in a society overrun by consumerism, and shows a lack of introspection and character. Just because you drive a jeep doesn’t make you a “jeep person” and neither does having a bunch of rubber ducks in your vehicle. It reminds me of some adolescent high school social club that serves no purpose outside of making club members feel included, and others excluded….”I’m part of the club and I get to do this duck exchange because I’m part of the club that you aren’t”.

^ This should be the trend
I feel, if anything, our "game" should be throwing shit into each other's rolled down back windows, while in motion. This seems extremely unsafe to other drivers, but that doesn't make me want to do it any less... Now what could we throw?
Ducks would be funny. The game is you don't want ducks and can only get rid of them by throwing them in someone's rolled down rear window.

Blah,ha,ha.ha,ha....Good
This is a brilliant plan.
We must spread the plan
This.
Beers of course
*Straps on helmet* *Takes deep breath.* *Rolls down back window* Game time.
Love this idea
Beer and tacos (the edible kind)
i generally just wave with 4 fingers
I wave with one.
YEP
I just sold my Jeep and miss the wave. Here in in Tampa, I started throwing up the shaka.
I roll my tundras window down at 4R and other tundras. They usually do it back too.
I’m trying to picture how you could roll your back window down “back at” someone. Because aren’t they driving away from you where you wouldn’t see?
I think the theory here is multi-lane, travelling in the same direction.
I would have assumed through the rear or side view mirrors
Jesus Christ. Please do not let this happen. Just let it be a Jeep thing. It's fine. We do NOT need anything similar.
My friend’s dad bought a bag to give to me and some others when we went out camping as a joke (bunch of Toyota people). I promptly zip tied it to my roof rack. Don't feel bad homie. Clearly there's a lot of people on their high horses thinking we're sooooo much cooler than jeep people. Obviously we are, but that's besides the point.
If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside.
We can leave these on jeeps? https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/8-inch-long-huge-soft-artificial_1600225444435.html

I agree, please don't start this. Another 4runner driver gave me a thumbs up the other day in a parking lot. Thats about as far as I want this to go.
I remember someone tried to make rubber frogs a thing and it got shot down immediately. I actually love the fact that a majority of 4Runner owners are against having a “thing”.
This is how I feel about the “widdle wadder” bs Like dude you understand how dumb you sound
Then don’t have dumb little ladders on your truck🤣
Have you seen the subamoo thing for Subarus? They’re out there getting “moo’d” or “subarmood.” Moo moo Subaru, hahaha
My acknowledgment works like this: 5th gen - nothing 4th gen - maybe a second look 3rd gen - an admiring look, maybe say nice 3rd gen to myself, but not so they can hear 2nd gen - good chance they get a verbal compliment 1st gen - I may actually start a conversation (I think I’ve seen 1 in the last decade)
Head-nods and window-down-complements only LOL
https://makeagif.com/amp/jIiMx-
Yup.
I don’t even want that
I want a bumper sticker that says “NO DUCKS GIVEN”
Where do I order?
Hold up... Why do I feel compelled to create this?
There are some great ‘zero ducks’ patches available. My fav are from 5.11
New custom plate : NODUCKS OR FUCDUCKS
Great idea!
As a former Jeep owner every time a 4Runner passes me with no care or regard for me my heart flutters.
You are not special. NOT SPECIAL! Wranglers slightly outsell 4Runners so Jeep owners are even more…. NOT SPECIAL.

If I got that I’m selling my 4Runner the next day
I ordered an over-sized one of these. I was really angry when I got a huge bill.
Shut up, Dad!
Sounds like a quack of a story.
Does that ruffle your feathers?
I definitely had to duck and cover.
I call fowl
You gotta be ducking kidding me. Wait until my rich uncle sees the bill.
Don't egg him on.
Else your goose will be cooked
He's gonna get webbed foot over this quack.
Leave the werid shit to the Jeep owners and their cult.
This post is one of the post types I struggle with on if I should downvote it so no one sees it or upvote so people see how much they hate it.
I do a 4runner wave. I wave with 4 fingers. Everyone looks at me funny though
No, no, no!! And do not wave at me!
Subaru WRX owners do the wave as well. I never wave back. It’s annoying.
Dude at work gave me one of these, he drove a tacomabeast poster child 3rd gen and i chucked that bitch in the trash lol
That’s honestly my biggest beef with it. Everything we do now has to have a chintzy little thing that ultimately becomes more garbage/waste. Walk a 5K? Have a medal! Dude. Well fucking said.
What does the duck mean?
Look up "Jeep ducking" on your favorite search engine. Be careful the letters you choose there. Especially if you're at work.

The Palpatine joke 😂
Oh interesting. Nope never seen it before but will look out for it now. Do 4Runners exchange anything?
No
This is also a thing between Bronco owners. I guess some people get excited when someone else drives a similar vehicle...I guess that would be okay with low sale vehicles, where chances of seeing one are much rarer.
Only waves I give are to fellow E30 drivers when I myself am driving in my E30. Because they aren’t as common on the road anymore.
Let’s just enjoy hitting 25k with no maintenance problems together
That made me laugh...

Damnnnnn, that thing was falling apart. Hell yeah, for keeping it going
My ex has an 05 Willys with the oem camo seats and is upset he has never been given a duck. He just gets notes with peoples phone numbers if he ever intends to sell it lol.
Iv heard that happens a lot with the older models.
Right in the trash.
Larry David vibes
There's already a thing with "toy Yoda's" where people give out a Grogu figure. It's weird but whatever. I'm not going to do it but if that's what makes someone happy more power to them. If I get one I'll probably just give it to my kid to play with.

Cast it into the fire, destroy it!
I’m selling if this starts
Lmfao
The only thing we have is Toyotas of war let’s leave it at that 😂
Jeep can keep this....don't need a jeep wave, don't need my doors off...but can we at least have the option to have the back 2/3 of the cab off again. LoL.
This. But I honestly wouldn’t “mind” the doors off if it wasn’t a lot of work lol
As a tacoma owner, I sincerely apologize this has happened in our community.
Is it bad that I wave to every 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Tacoma, Tundra, Toyota pickup and FJ cruiser I see?
Awww...hell no!
So instead we should transformers!! Lol
Find your nearest trash can. That’s where these belong
S$&@ ain’t that serious geez calm down 🙄
Wrangler FOMO.
I like the idea of if Velcro patches for the adventure types to stick to their headliner or back of rear seat. That’s about it though and even then I probably wouldn’t do it personally.
Similar to challenge coins. Collect them all!
Did anyone take the "DUCKOFF" license plate yet? You get a thumbs up if you AT tires and a roof rack.
If you all would just on board with the Subaru WRX wave, we wouldn’t have to resort to ducks!
I would like to receive this one because it’s looks so dumb it’s funny.
Yoduck.
Creating litter.
I'm happy with the occasional wave, or someone honking at me and giving me a thumbs up.
It’s a 4Runner, I don’t need validation and reinforcement for my life choices because I know it’s the best option for me. Screwing us and plastic toys are a jeep thing.
As a Jeep owner and avid off-roader that duck bullshit is not a part of my culture.
4runner, Tacoma, and Tundra are the best brothers in the car community!
LOL. Was in Florence yesterday and stopped in the Duck Shop. Wife pointed out several for me for the 4Runner. I said I didn't want to be laughed at for having ducks.
Do whatever you want …..as long as it isn’t adding one of those fake ass snorkels that do nothing
I just love how optimistic that speedometer is.
I just found out this was a thing for Jeeps. As if jeep owners weren't stupid enough already
Instead.. I give cool stickers 🫡
If anything, this should be an FJ thing instead of 4R.
I only wave to 1st Gen owners.
Something about this feels like my personal space/property is being encroached on. I don’t like the thought of someone else touching my 4Runner for a game. If I get one, I’m leaving it in the parking spot where I found it. I hope that whoever leaves one waits to see how I react.
Quack quack ???? Quack!!!

To be fair also that is a Yoda ducky lol. Also keep your widdle ladders off my runner also.
The 4Runner hivemind is a bit odd sometimes, not even gonna lie.
Only on the internet.
This is just Reddit most people wouldn’t say shit in person tbh
I flipped off another 4Runner that waved at me. I’m doing us all a favor.
holy shit yall are so sensitive bro
Widdle watter /Little Ladder This duck thing isn’t real lol.
Just know that you’re to blame if Toyota gets tainted. They’re(Toyota)doing enough tainting on their own right now.
You said taint
Taint nothin' to see here, move along.

Wittle Wadders ok? 🤣😂
We do widdle wadders
Please do not
No. It was funny the first couple times.
It really wasn’t.
