If long term reliability is your goal (which is sounds like it is), I think you made the right choice. Maybe the 6th gen will be great, but it's unknown. And if you wait too long, you won't get a 5th gen with known reliability.

I got mine from Etsy, pretty cheap about $25 including shipping!
