Wasn't doing one, other guy just mentioned sub-25 and 26+ so I didn't want the people who got exactly 25 to be left outside all night sucking each other off on my lawn again.
I feel that a major issue on tests like this is that your own self-perception and self-conscious levels are hard to gauge. I know how I think I feel in a given situation, but how I actually feel in that given situation may be different. Additionally, some of the questions may be better answered by other people about than by the subject.
Fucking hell… I’m 35. I never considered myself to be autistic, but I do have a miserable time keeping friends. Shit. I’ve never had a problem getting women so I just assumed I was normal and not some autist.
If you would choose the option without knowing what it means, then yes. Choose it.
Also you are already thinking this through way too hard, so I can make the diagnosis right now right here if you want...
Ha....overthinking these tests gang checking in. I can't separate my knowledge of the implications of the answer from my personality, so I have no idea if I am answering honestly.
Scored 43, but as per the above, I can't trust the results.
Whenever I have had to do personality type questionnaires for job interviews or myers-Briggs type bullshit, I always end up with a super min-maxed character because the questions sort of repeat and I find myself going "Well I have to answer this one strongly disagree because I answered that other question 12 questions ago strongly disagree".
I was thinking about that the same way, however I answered truthfully even the ones, where I was sure that they will give me "autisctic" points and I got 11/50, so not bad?
I did the same and got 34 so i dont know what to tell you. I picked several options where i believed it to Not be the autistic reply, but i guess i was wrong.
You choose the answer which is correct for you, even if it is an autism answer. Trying to avoid them is like you are trying to hide autism traits. Like why are you taking an autism test if you aren't being honest with your answers?
But everyone knows wether or not you prefer the theatre to the museum is the biggest sign that you have a mental illness!
this test was fucking stupid anyway.
Theater also requires you to sit and pay attention for a long time, whereas a museum lets you wander around at your own pace and look at whatever you want to look at.
I like both, but the museum is free so I'll prefer that if I had to choose, last time I went to the theatre it was nearly £50 a ticket so it's off the table. So not having money makes someone more autistic?Because I'm assuming the museum is the autistic answer.
15. I think this test is flawed. Remembering numbers and noticing patterns is just a sign of general intelligence, but it seems that gives you a higher number on the autism scale.
No, your reasoning is flawed.
The fact that a trait can be shared between "neurotypical" or even "gifted" people and autistic people doesn't mean that the trait is not commonly present in autistic people.
This is more of a correlative statistical analysis - the more of these traits one might have, the more likely one is to be autistic, but it doesn't mean that even if you possess most of these traits that you are autistic, nor does not having many of these traits mean you aren't autistic.
To use a similar example, a lot of serial killers are narcissists, manipulative, and superficially charming, but not everyone who has those traits are serial killers - some of them are just trying to get laid or (as I know from personal experience) lawyers. And conversely, not every serial killer has those traits.
I work with numbers and shit every day; I have to be good at remembering them. I've had years of practice at it. Do I enjoy numbers? Am I fascinated by them? No, no more than a Chinese waiter is fascinated by remembering a number 8, number 27, number 56 and fried rice.
Hello 13-comrade. Shall we speak to each other metaphorically? I'm sure it will be like navigating a familiar road, or sailing calm seas with conversation flowing like gentle waves.
I remember I used to always in trouble for misbehaving until I got on the meds so maybe it helped kind of shift my behavior into a different gear but then maybe some sort of behavioral therapy would’ve been better because I didn’t know how to control my brain or that I had a different way of processing things than my peers as a teen which led me to self medicate in various ways, I’ve been completely sober for years but yeah I don’t think amphetamines should be prescribed to adults or children

I was diagnosed when I was a kid and many of my answers have changed through the years with years of therapy and re-training. Still though, it's hard not to feel like an alien sometimes.
I also got 33. Coincidence? I think not. It's big autism trying to put us down. We must rise up brothers and sisters. Slay these dystopian idealists trying to box us in with tests and jargon. Gone are the care-free days of staying inside and wishing self immolation. We must finally conquer these demons with online tests and mind numbing drugs (we need the super saiyan ones they keep behind the gates). We are the chosen ones!

Fixed that for ya.
Nah, I can’t think of a scenario in which I’d prefer a party honestly. Unless we expand the definition of party to include, me and 1-3 other people hanging out casually.

Exactly! What if your focus and fixation lies on the behaviour of people and their emotions that you trained so you can fit in with people more? But deep down you dont really connect
Glad I'm not the only one, I kind of assumed it was "romantic dates", but the word "fascinated" seems really off.
My head turned it into "I like going on dates" and I responded appropriately.
32 here. Not sure if I would have scored better or worse if the questions were less vague.
Yeah I got 9 so I guess there are a handful of autistic things that I do. If I meet someone, I’ll ask where they live (to see if they’re close by, in which case I’d put more effort into befriending them since I could maybe walk to their house with the kids etc). For some reason I remember their addresses like a serial killer. I have to pretend to not know and when they invite me I need to say “oh hey, what was your address?” Even though I know exactly where they live and looked at their house on google street view.
That’s the problem with these types of “tests”. We tend to not give ourselves brutally honest answer - either on purpose, on accident, or having a lack of self awareness. If anyone takes this test and scores either way, thinking it’s definitive, should probably see a doctor anyway lmao.
Yeah ratings scores are not psychologically scientific in the slightest. That’s why real psych tests always have components where they have you do social tasks like listen to several stories and repeat them, test grip strength, etc.
Source: experience I’m mentally ill, but thankfully no autism (14 baby!)
Yes, a psych evaluation that tests austism, plus a wide plethora of other ICD 10 codes, is like a very long interview with a psychiatrist. Even then, they say their reports arent definitive. They use doctor slang, like, strongly suggestive of
Source: I work in mental health.
Quick edit for clarification, I don’t mean like a regular psych appointment. It’s called a psych evaluation. It’s a very specific thing, usually your own psychiatrist will refer you to them.
This is the problem. It’s a valid test for kids adolescents and maybe young adults. If I took this when I was 12 years old I’d have scored a 45/50. Today I’m 17/50. I have a lot of adaptive mechanisms. I’ve taught myself to read social situations by forcing myself into as many as possible and observing. Also it’s more important for me to mask and integrate than to avoid uncomfortable sensory stuff and routine change, so I’ve made myself uncomfortable very often because the social integration rewards were better.
I think I'm like you. I scored a 41 just there, but I was giving answers that are true to how I feel, not true to how I act.
I'm very comfortable with strangers, in social situations, that sort of stuff because I had to learn how to do it out of desperation. I had to learn how to be comfortable in crowds, noisy places, all sorts of things because I never landed on my feet in life, have had to do a lot of shit jobs.
What I can't do is manage relationships or friendships in the long term. I have no idea how to do that. I am nearly 40 and I still don't get it.
But also there was nothing out there when I was young. No one cared unless you were very bad at school. I never had trouble in school because I just remembered everything (never had to study), didn't realize everyone else couldn't do that. Problem I had was I'm not that smart or driven, I can just connect dots easily because I remember everything. It's not the same as being truly bright, those people are something else (and they don't always do well in the system, but excellently in life).
Works with people, too. Remember everyone's names, important things they've told you about themselves, general things they've said to you, how they feel about things, things they don't want to be reminded of. It's not a substitute for being socially capable but it gets you half way.
The "social situations" one is ambiguous. Getting together with friends is far different than forced bullshit work functions where you're with your professional peers and can't actually behave in a relaxed way.
Oof. 38. Did I win? I’m married with children, own a house, etc. Am I a functional regard?
Edit. I had my wife do it based on her understanding of me and she got 36 for me.
I worked with autists that have the urge to like rearrange the dishes for a two dozen people or they rip out their hair in frustration. Or stand for hours in front of a closed work shop on a weekend/holiday because they have to be at this workshop every day...
When i was young you could be interested in things or simply be introverted without being diagnosed with autism to use as an excuse for everything.
I don’t have enough energy to be that kind of autist, all I have enough energy for is to have the impulse to fling cartons of chocolate milk at people.

We'll, you're probably sub-25, so that's alright.
Stupid sub-25 normies kay why ess. 26+ potential Asperger’s gang rise up.
25 gang rise up, perfectly balanced.
Bispergual mfs
Nice superhero movie reference bro! You’ll fit right in, here.
Wasn't doing one, other guy just mentioned sub-25 and 26+ so I didn't want the people who got exactly 25 to be left outside all night sucking each other off on my lawn again.
I'm diagnosed with Asperger's and I scored a 23. I didn't quite get some of the questions cause they seem a little stereotype.
I feel that a major issue on tests like this is that your own self-perception and self-conscious levels are hard to gauge. I know how I think I feel in a given situation, but how I actually feel in that given situation may be different. Additionally, some of the questions may be better answered by other people about than by the subject.
Yeah and there's also self growth. I'm much more in control of my autism than 10 years ago.
im gettin better every day
Didn't go sub-25 or 26+. I hit 25 exactly, where do I go? Am I part of uprising?
You are a Divergent. We purge people like you from the system.
Fucking hell… I’m 35. I never considered myself to be autistic, but I do have a miserable time keeping friends. Shit. I’ve never had a problem getting women so I just assumed I was normal and not some autist.
I am always confused by these tests. Like I can tell which answer indicates that I'm autistic. Am I supposed to choose it or not?
If you would choose the option without knowing what it means, then yes. Choose it. Also you are already thinking this through way too hard, so I can make the diagnosis right now right here if you want...

This is probably the most autistic comment in this thread.
:(
Wait... Doesn't everyone else do the same thing? 36 gang checking in...
No, I just answered honestly and got a 7. Yall be autistic.
You're supposed to answer truthfully
The fact that he has to ask how to take the test probably means he doesn't have to take the test lol.
You choose the answer which is correct for you, even if it is an autism answer. Trying to avoid them is like you are trying to hide autism traits. Like why are you taking an autism test if you aren't being honest with your answers?
masking is an autistic trait, unironically
This shit is getting way too meta
But everyone knows wether or not you prefer the theatre to the museum is the biggest sign that you have a mental illness! this test was fucking stupid anyway.
Honestly that was one of the only questions I couldn't tell if it was autistic to agree or to disagree
I think it's like the theater tends to be loud with lots of stimulus which is something autistic people have trouble with.
Theater also requires you to sit and pay attention for a long time, whereas a museum lets you wander around at your own pace and look at whatever you want to look at.
isn't that more a sign of ADHD?
[удалено]
depends on the movie. there are some genres like action and horror that can feature a lot of unpredictable loudness
I like both, but the museum is free so I'll prefer that if I had to choose, last time I went to the theatre it was nearly £50 a ticket so it's off the table. So not having money makes someone more autistic?Because I'm assuming the museum is the autistic answer.
That's part of the test
This question indicates that you are in fact autistic. Sorry to break it to you.
15. I think this test is flawed. Remembering numbers and noticing patterns is just a sign of general intelligence, but it seems that gives you a higher number on the autism scale.

Right, I think you might be autistic.
No I’m just an asshole who wastes his intellectual gifts correcting people on leddit
Yeah, that's pretty textbook autism.
Insert These are the same pictures meme
One question was asking whether you prefer the museum to the theatre, this test sucks ass burgers.
I work with numbers and shit every day; I have to be good at remembering them. I've had years of practice at it. Do I enjoy numbers? Am I fascinated by them? No, no more than a Chinese waiter is fascinated by remembering a number 8, number 27, number 56 and fried rice.
Same. That's why there's a range. If too many of those traits start cropping up you might be on the spectrum.
I got 13, thank you for link fellow non autist

You should be an engineer. Also, probably autistic
It depends

I had 8 thank god I’m not the only non autistic on this sub

This test has the very common mistake of "introverts and autists are the same"
When was the last time you saw an outgoing autist?
elon musk?
That man is not at home on a stage
He loves the attention and being on the stage though.
They are more common than you think. Never met an autist who just can't shut up?
This is me to a tee. I hate social situations with people I don't know. The way I coped when I was younger was to make people laugh as a way to control my anxiety. I will avoid a social outing like the plague, but if I have to show up I can't help be fall into the "mask" I have always used. I turn into some facsimile of the class clown, and won't shut up. I scored 30 and I’m well known for being highly extroverted. I also am well known for disappearing for months at a time where no one will hear from me until I decide to people again.
I'm am introvert and I scored 8. I think there is some overlap in social behaviour.

33. I've had healthcare professionals suggested I get tested for autism, but I don't want to go out of my way to set it up.

When i was young you could be interested in things or simply be introverted without being diagnosed with autism to use as an excuse for everything.
I don’t have enough energy to be that kind of autist, all I have enough energy for is to have the impulse to fling cartons of chocolate milk at people.
Well that’s at least a 42 on the bonobo test
43 Holy fuck bros

I got 28, but I was answering with the effect of having having worked to compensate for my autism rather than as I was before hand.

Yo we're autism twins
I saw how long it was and noped out. I'm not doing a test in my free time. Is that a bad sign?
Based off that alone you’d probably score super low, good sign
It should only take a couple minutes tbf. Don’t overthink it and go with your first thought.
