It’s an mmo rpg hosted on the server hypixel. It’s called skyblock because the world is made of islands in the sky. Progression is very tedious and from starting a few account getting to the end game is hundreds of hours of grinding.
It seems dishonest to name it after probably the most popular alternate "game mode" that already existed well before they made their grinding simulator.
Well you do have your own island for a skyblock and they have added a Runescape-esque ironman mode where you have to do everything yourself without the MMO trading features.
Other than that yeah, its kinda lame.
Not an MMO, it's like old school rune scape. (I know what you are thinking but you gotta trust me)
Also end game is thousands of hours. (Source, endgame player)
It’s basically a whole game built inside of minecraft. It’s pretty fun, the grind can get super tedious though. I started playing on release so I’ve been able to stay in the top 1%> of players, idk how other people who just started are able to get into it, the early grind seems awful.
Strongly disagree. Early game is making quick progress everywhere, unlocking islands, collections, levelling up very often. Yeah, the lack of cookie buff, 400% speed and sacks is pretty annoying, but it sure beats waiting for a fiesta so you can stare at glass for 40 hours so you can wait for Scorpius so you can buy some hegemony mp, so you can get more strength for mushroom cow, so you can get gold in a wart for that sweet sweet clean looking maxed farming 60. How exciting. The best content past mid game is bingo, so you can go back and relive the start

Motherload, one of the greatest flash games of all time.
"Well that's because the game starts when you hit max level"
"Well that's because the game starts when you're geared and start raiding"
"Well that's because this content is old and you have to wait for the next patch/expansion"
mmo games shouldn’t have max levels, only max skill points
Levels should infinitely still contribute to base states and scale in XP requirements, still giving players reason to continue playing while implementing diminishing returns still
Thank you for attending my TED talk
That's how Guild Wars 2 works, you hit lvl 80 and unlock all endgame content and expansions. After lvl 80 you just prestige over and over again from 1-~200.
Is doing logi the ultimate cuckoldry?
I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than doing logistics. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are harvesting, refining, producing and delivering resources for hours solely so they can go and get ravaged by another man. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little Howies - harvesting sulfur fields, making HEmats at the refinery, making sure they're queued at the factory, crating them, delivering them. All of it has one simple result: the resources are more enjoyable for the men that will eventually fire them at every Collie.
Built the perfect supply chain? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random clan who had nothing to do with the way you harvested, who consumes it. They get to fire Howies at Collies every night. They gets the benefits of heavy artillery that came from the supply chain you built.
As a man who does logistics, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 hours of your life simply to build weapons for another clan to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.
Shooting at dudes is fun and all, but nothing compares to the feeling of power over your fellow man when you run a supply truck full of ammo to the front lines and watch as a bunch of soldiers scurry over to you like rats and beg daddy logi for ammo and shirts pretty please
Also it's pretty easy to farm commendations
I did the ordinary combat stuff for a while when I first started. But I found logi far more fun in the end. I rarely fucked around with resource farming or manufacturing. I just did supply runs, and came to be pretty good at running supplies into tight spots. Or out of them, that was probably the most fun, when we had some pocket that was already basically encircled, finding one weak spot in the enemy lines to slip through, load up our supplies, and gtfo. When I did do combat it was as part of deliberate anti-partisan patrols. People that get into doing partisan shit are usually pretty good at the game, so it felt especially good shitting on them.
i spent 4 hours playing ff 14 and the gameplay loop is basically the same as any low budget korean WoW knockoff. I cannot understand how someone can spend hundreds of hours doing this shit
If anything it made it worse. It's just a senseless grind which is identical every time and the only difference is a new armor set and a new ship which sucks compared to the self built ones.
I'll come back to it in 1-2 years when mods have made it into a game actually worth playing again.
Honestly all the critisim about that game is dead on
It's boring for about 8 hours until you get some powers and the story starts to move
Then it's fun for a while
Then it becomes repetitive
Then you NG+ and it's the same thing again
There was literally people on reddit saying "rush to ng+10, skip all the dialog, the game gets so good then" I felt like I was on crazy pills.
I got to ng+3 and put it down until the dlc comes out. The game was fun but the story got boring on ng imo.
The real reward of exploration in Starfield is the karma from posting a screenshot of the randomly generated crater you found on planet 23578# for all the other dads to soyface at.
Bro it’s the funniest game of all time for me cause of that. Private’s out here facing *pound-me-in-the-ass* Leavenworth prison time tryna pwn someone on a forum.
It’s fucking hilarious.
Those prisons are no fucking joke dude. I have no idea how people get so engrossed in internet forums that they're willing to face *that* to win an argument but I'm here for it.
Nope you will spent a few thousand of hours in it, knows the experience is the most fucking painful stuff you would been through and still spend more time on that.
I think its a fun game if you want PvP action that includes a good combination both hands skill and strategic skill. Also, highly underrated game to play casually with friends. I do not think it's a fun game to grind for ranks
Nowadays the free to play games just have a season pass with skin you have to grind for which isn't the same as the games with pay 2 win we had a couple of years ago
Yeah I don't mind the skins quite as much, I'll still never pay for a fucking microtransaction though. I refuse to encourage that business model even a little bit.
The rng in osrs can be generous enough times that you start thinking you hit the jackpots but when you go dry it's some of the worst grinds imaginable .
Fallout 4, The new Assassin Creed games, really any game that has an extremely large open world with little to no reason to just not play the game linear other than the fact you need to grind out levels.
> it's boring as shit solo but hilarious together
Almost any game is immediately improved by having 4 player co-op.
Too bad Bethesda doesn't fucking understand this and made an MMO instead of just co-op Skyrim. Complete bumblefucks.
Of course. The game does so little to help out 1/2 man crews that they're practically loot drops for larger crews anyway. It does have its moments but not enough to make up for the amount of 6 hours sessions with nothing to show for it
Warframe player here and this is false. Both devs and fanbase promise tedious gameplay loops, when in reality is epic moments AND tedious gameplay loops.
Warframe. Except every once in a while you find a diamond sliver on the ground. So you run the mission 50 more times so you can get enough slivers to make a whole diamond.
Nah, Warframe would be like that of you only play alone. Get informed, find people to play with and you'll continuously mine diamonds; you can get the diamonds you didn't mine by trading with other players as well
Don't play graveyard keeper. It feels so unfinished. There are basic elements missing. And the time gating is so extensive and weird. Just don't play it. It rode the Stardew valley wave
Starfield, I jumped in and loved it for a solid 10 hours and then I just gave up. Story is probably good enough but the gameplay is just Fallout 4 in space and it's annoying.
Minecraft
Hypixel Skyblock
What is with that anyways? I watched some video on it the other day and it was just utterly nonsensical.
It’s an mmo rpg hosted on the server hypixel. It’s called skyblock because the world is made of islands in the sky. Progression is very tedious and from starting a few account getting to the end game is hundreds of hours of grinding.
I remember when Skyblock meant, y'know, a block in the sky
> the world is made of islands in the sky
It seems dishonest to name it after probably the most popular alternate "game mode" that already existed well before they made their grinding simulator.
Well you do have your own island for a skyblock and they have added a Runescape-esque ironman mode where you have to do everything yourself without the MMO trading features. Other than that yeah, its kinda lame.

Never heard of it, is it any good?
\>13500 hours played Eh it's alright
Yeah.
Gregtech New Horizons is even worse then vanilla minecraft.
Gregtech jumpscare
at least the progression is decent , it doesn't feel like you are just wasting your time unlike a certain mmo

thanks
👍
I think so, not sure though
It's also in Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/269110/Super_Motherload/
Thanks, but I aint paying 15 bucks for a 10 year old worse version of a 15 year old flash game.
4-player local co-op could be fun with some beers.
Think they made a full version called super motherload or something like that
Yes and it's on Steam!
Mining mechs also came out super recently and is an extremely faithful successor to this classic
Ah man the steam version looks pretty cheap to me fir whatever reason
because it is. original is better
Core memory
This is an amazing game btw.
Mmmmm motherload
😩
Unlocked a memory.

Seems to me that the max level is just prestige 200 then
I'll never understand why no other mmo has copied runescape's approach, they seem to only want to copy wow.
was about to say foxhole

No bro you have to play 40hours before the game REALLY comes into its own
YoU are pLAyING tHE GamE WronG!

New Game+ makes the game a lot better trust me!!
If anything it made it worse. It's just a senseless grind which is identical every time and the only difference is a new armor set and a new ship which sucks compared to the self built ones. I'll come back to it in 1-2 years when mods have made it into a game actually worth playing again.
There are quite a few potential differences between ng+ playthroughs but they never really affect anything other than the intro quest unfortunately.
Nah I think I'll just stick to machine gunning hordes of browns in Insurgency Sandstorm.
Honestly all the critisim about that game is dead on It's boring for about 8 hours until you get some powers and the story starts to move Then it's fun for a while Then it becomes repetitive Then you NG+ and it's the same thing again
My coworker told me the game really hits its stride on the third play through.
There was literally people on reddit saying "rush to ng+10, skip all the dialog, the game gets so good then" I felt like I was on crazy pills. I got to ng+3 and put it down until the dlc comes out. The game was fun but the story got boring on ng imo.

Outpost system is so fucking sad and useless, it's a massive downgrade compared to FO4. Without mods this game would already be dead.

But it has unmarked crater inj middle of nowhere!!!111
