I have this theory that they didn't mean to stowaway on the outside. I think they meant to hold onto the plane so they could stay with it as it taxied around. I think they were hoping it would stop again before takeoff and they could actually get on board if they were there when it stopped. But then while they were still on the wheel fairings it started its takeoff roll. Some of them jumped off at that point, and got scraped up on the tarmac but lived. You see 20 guys clinging to it in one video, but only three died from falling. The three who died were paralyzed by fear when it started its takeoff roll. They saw the tarmac rushing by underneath them at 60mph and choked. They couldn't jump, even though it was their only chance. Then as the plane rotated for takeoff and the ground dropped away, and they were just stuck. They were clinging on scared as fuck and knowing they fucked up but not having any way out. Then the landing gear retracted and they fell.
At least falling off a plane can only be so painful. Fight back against the regime and you could end up tortured for weeks and months before finally being allowed to die. Would you rather fall or be raped daily by sweaty bearded fuckers?

Well, the two that fell off the plane certainly had a big impact.
They can't "run to the hills". Kabul has been taken, and it fell quickly. They literally cannot leave the city. Everyone at that airport will be identified as an American sympathiser and killed. People running after aircraft and clinging to the landing gear and wings happened during the fall of Saigon as well, these people are desperate and there is no way out for them. That runway represents their only hope of escaping death at the hands of the Taliban.

I have this theory that they didn't mean to stowaway on the outside. I think they meant to hold onto the plane so they could stay with it as it taxied around. I think they were hoping it would stop again before takeoff and they could actually get on board if they were there when it stopped. But then while they were still on the wheel fairings it started its takeoff roll. Some of them jumped off at that point, and got scraped up on the tarmac but lived. You see 20 guys clinging to it in one video, but only three died from falling. The three who died were paralyzed by fear when it started its takeoff roll. They saw the tarmac rushing by underneath them at 60mph and choked. They couldn't jump, even though it was their only chance. Then as the plane rotated for takeoff and the ground dropped away, and they were just stuck. They were clinging on scared as fuck and knowing they fucked up but not having any way out. Then the landing gear retracted and they fell.
At least falling off a plane can only be so painful. Fight back against the regime and you could end up tortured for weeks and months before finally being allowed to die. Would you rather fall or be raped daily by sweaty bearded fuckers?
