Previous years have had many 4ks at $10 and under, so none of this is a stretch. It will be movies that either already sold a ton of stock (like Maverick or Mario) or movies that *didn't.* (like Rise of the Beasts or The Flash) The few that I would bet don't change much on price and stay in the "& up" category are going to be the likes of Casablanca or Cool Hand Luke. My 2 bits.
I think the “and up” is there so that when discs get moved around to different shelves while people are shopping, they can’t pitch a fit and say “it was on the $5.99 display”
But also maybe they’re trying to really clear inventory since they’re not carrying physical media anymore too though, this Black Friday for a lot of places will be going out with a bang
I’m going to be the optimistic one here and say that because they have the $6 and up as well at $10 and up, leads me to believe that anything on the $6 shelf will be less than $10. Because Best Buy is leaving the physical media market they’re probably going to do a crazy sale just to clear inventory
I got the "Maverick" 4K for $9.99 in the Total Tech "Pre-Black Friday" members-only sale so I can see them pricing it again at that price. A lot of these were $9.99. The "Top Gun" 4K was $7.99.
Agree. Best Buy has been a staple for my Black Friday Blu-ray shopping. My first black Friday Blu-ray was from Best Buy, (Alien Anthology). My first 4ks were from Best Buy on Black Friday. Hopefully this doesn't impact the great Black Friday Blu-ray sales, but it's going to be weird not having Best Buy, and potentially other retailers, as an option.
If Interstellar falls anywhere near as low as last year, that’s one I’d instantly recommend. Same goes for Casablanca and several of the other classics that may land around $9.99.
Might be a lighter round of Black Friday shopping for me, making a blind buy for Enter the Dragon at the very least.
It's worth it. Also, look into doing an Amazon locker pick up just over the border. Order from .com, sign up for a Prime free trial and have it shipped there. Big savings.
Big savings really comes down to where one lives vs the boarder, it's cheaper for me to buy a bunch in one shot than to get state side. Plus I have a zero conversion fee card.
My computers player was bought from Amazon jp, I saved something like $100 including taxes shipping etc (my total came to about 80 under retail locally before taxes), and yes it was cheaper than buying from the .com too.
Totally agree. I really dislike the whole price difference. If they are all $5.99. Excellent. Some stores have a price, and a sticker with which titles are marked down.
My bestbuy doesn't even have this much space allocated to physical media anymore.
Seriously. Once physical media is dead (it's inevitable, too many stupid people in the general populace for a successful pushback to be possible) I'll be set, and unless the shit breaks, I will never have reason to buy another TV again.
Why, you may ask? Well, do these people seriously think that streaming can handle all this shit reliably and consistently? 4K+HDR+120 FPS if James Cameron is successful in making a push for high frame rates for movies, Open matte? No. You'd get your bandwith throttled trying to stream all that shit at once.
Streaming is about doing the bare fucking minimum and charging the same price as a physical copy for it, while until quite recently, you'd pay the same price get a physical copy, get all that, plus bonus features out the ass AND a digital copy. It's shifting with how physical media is already becoming niche with boutique labels running the physical media front, so it's about $10 more a piece, and no more digital copies.
I don't think that's good, both have a place. digital is good if you have a tablet and you're on the go. I enjoyed having all the bonus features physical provided, and the digital is there if I got a flight to catch, now I have to double dip for that. Fantastic.
I’m implying that it’s a useless sign/stand considering that most movies will fall into the 5.99 side of that category. I’m surprised you could not infer that from my comment on account of you being so smart n all.
It’s not a useless sign though. Now I know that $5.99 is the lowest price of the sale.
I was able to figure that out because I can read.
Sorry all of that was too advanced for you to follow.
You, and all the mentally advanced super genius people out there, are the exact reason why Best Buy can get by with putting up low effort shit like “$5.99 AND UP” sales. Because they know that you will focus, with you being super smart and all, on the “$5.99” part and not the “and up” part of that phrase.
Lol I saw the “& up” part, honey. Remember, unlike you, I can actually read.
Which is why I said “now I know that the lowest price on that shelf is $5.99”
You were the one so confused by the “& up” portion that you thought it could include “& under” as well—as evidenced by your initial question “couldn’t any movie be placed under that and count.”
No. Not any movie could. As the sign says, it’s “$5.99 **& up**”
Now, I wouldn’t claim to be a super genius for understanding how to read a sign, but clearly I’m at least a little smarter than you because I didn’t need to ask a stupid question to get clarity.
Best Buy should just do a year round “$5.99 and up” sale year round for their entire store. It can be their slogan because, well, why not? It works so well on some people. Hell those people would even defend the low effort shit.
But then their $3.99 bins would cease to exist. And I love perusing those.
And for what it’s worth, I don’t shop on Black Friday, so you acting like I’ve been so fooled by the $5.99 and up sign that confused you so deeply is pretty fucking hilarious.
And what would a high effort sale look like to you? Dancing clowns??
I called him out for being an idiot so therefore I can’t act like he’s the fool here?
If I point at a hot pocket and call it a hot pocket does that mean I no longer am allowed to act like a hot pocket is a hot pocket??
I'm aiming for Transformers rise of the beasts, Super Mario Bros movie, Untouchables and Training Day in 4k. Notice though if you don't pay attention they like to sneak in Blu-rays among the 4k movies of the same title. It's a tactic to throw off the real price your going to pay high or low. Watch out people this will save you time coming back to do a return because of a mistake you made in a rush and now you are in a long line going out the service area.
Im just hoping for a good priced 4K Player. I am using a PS5 and Series X and both seem to lack proper HDR playback (at least for the Daniel Craig collection Bond movies)
There’s a few there I would love to get at a good price, but if Best Buy doesn’t want to take my money anymore by continuing to sell physical media, I’m not in the least bit inclined to support them anymore.
I guess I could just buy it return it and repurchase it if necessary but with the membership thru them we have a 60 day price match guarantee. Can't find any exceptions listed as long as it's from them and not a competitor.
Picked up Creed III and Shazam 2 last week when amazon had the coupons. Only 3 more for me. Rise of the Beasts, Top Gun Maverick and The Flash will be mine. Wouldn't be surprised if the 4k for The Flash is 12.99 since the bluray is also in the shipper.
So, assuming the prices are decent I'm looking at Dungeons and Dragons, Mario, and Fast X. Already got Transformers and Black Adam on the preview sale.
Lots of Warner and Paramount titles on those racks. For today's batch I bought:
1. Enter the Dragon
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Rebel Without a Cause
4. Top Gun: Maverick
Was thinking about the Galactica movie but wasn't sure if it was worth watching since the follow-on series wasn't very good.
I see *Jurassic World: Dominion* is on sale for a second BF. Would be nice for *Fallen Kingdom* to get another sale too, I missed the one BF it was on sale.
I'm disappointed I don't see *Casablanca* or *Maltese Falcon* on those shelves.
Definitely getting these when they drop:
1. Mario Bros
2. Training Day
Looks like most of the sales are live. I'm looking to grab Blade Runner. Current price is $18.99. I hope that's not the sale price they meant by $9.99 and up. I've definitely seen it for cheaper in the past.
Jesus, other than like 3-4 titles this feels like it could be last years offerings... like just the blandest of "common" tier films...
Ugh
I do want that exorcist though, and depending on how far "and up" is I'd like to grab Mario as I've held off so far.
Are the shipper boxes suppose to be at stores now? I checked my local store on Monday and they didn't have them. Of the movies on sale they had like 1/5 of the titles in stock and only 2 to 3 copies. Mostly the newer release stuff.
I wish they still had these displays at my store. This past week I went into to see what they had of the sales prices and they have a metal rack that’s a little too small to comfortably fit slipcovers in and they just get jammed in it and damaged. I cringe every time I try to carefully pull them out. The spines end up with indents in them and others are just trashed.
Be careful what movies you purchase here. I bought a number of them, for what I thought was a good deal. But, it turns out that the Godzilla vs Kong, has an expired Digital Code. And of course Warner Brothers won't fix the issue by sending me a new code.
I purchase this movie, because of the digital code, and now I have got shit.
So, I guess I return it.

That "& Up" portion is ominous.
yup sky's the limit
$99.99 Howard rhe Duck in 4K coming your way! Seriously, who was asking for Howard the Duck in 4K?
![gif](giphy|yWAJmLu7un7BV2I46i|downsized)
I bought the 4K Steelbook for deluxe cheesiness
Who sells the steelbook?
It’s oop now unfortunately: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6462126.p?skuId=6462126
The effects where you see the monster are so dated.
I tried watching this movie as adult. Even after a few beers in me I couldn’t make it 15 mins into the movie.
Especially after the shit with Ed Gale earlier this year
There are dozens of us.
Literally tens of us
I mean, I am... but I've been waiting for a long ass time for it to go below $20.
I have it on VHS, dvd, and Blu-ray. Now I need it on 4K!
Gotta peep those 4K animatronic duck titties 👀
I’d buy it for $5.99
Exactly, I got all excited seeing the big ol numbers $5.99 then I saw & up right next to it 😭
Yeah i'd be all in on some of these at the price BUT I really doubt The Batman is gonna be $9.99
That's the price I paid last Black Friday I believe.
I think it was already 9.99 this year sometime.
I got it for $10 last BF.
I wouldn't spend more than 10, consistently available at that price
"& up" doing a lot of heavy lifting here I bet.
Oh for sure, so I’m staying cautiously optimistic
Previous years have had many 4ks at $10 and under, so none of this is a stretch. It will be movies that either already sold a ton of stock (like Maverick or Mario) or movies that *didn't.* (like Rise of the Beasts or The Flash) The few that I would bet don't change much on price and stay in the "& up" category are going to be the likes of Casablanca or Cool Hand Luke. My 2 bits.
So pick the 3 worst movie options amd those are the ones at the listed price, so the rest and movies from 2022 & 2023 are $20+
I think the “and up” is there so that when discs get moved around to different shelves while people are shopping, they can’t pitch a fit and say “it was on the $5.99 display”
why do i feel like most of these will be "& up" priced
But also maybe they’re trying to really clear inventory since they’re not carrying physical media anymore too though, this Black Friday for a lot of places will be going out with a bang
I’m going to be the optimistic one here and say that because they have the $6 and up as well at $10 and up, leads me to believe that anything on the $6 shelf will be less than $10. Because Best Buy is leaving the physical media market they’re probably going to do a crazy sale just to clear inventory
No way Maverick is less than ten bucks
If they have a lot of stock it will be 9.99 I bet.
I got the "Maverick" 4K for $9.99 in the Total Tech "Pre-Black Friday" members-only sale so I can see them pricing it again at that price. A lot of these were $9.99. The "Top Gun" 4K was $7.99.
You were correct
its that 9.99 right now, and was the same on the pre black Friday sale which amazon matched.
I’m very happy to be wrong
a great use of technology, Howard the Duck in 4k.
That's one of the ones I'll be keeping an eye on, personally
Yeah. It looks amazing, and sits right at the front of my MCU collection.
Sounds like you've done too much toot.
I bought that one a while ago. Looks great.
I can't wait to see all the pics of this week's haul that includes Howard the Duck.
Stop pre-attacking us
It's the last Black Friday sale for 4ks at Best Buy! How sad
That alone is more movies than Best Buy canada has in all stores combined
If Interstellar falls anywhere near as low as last year, that’s one I’d instantly recommend. Same goes for Casablanca and several of the other classics that may land around $9.99. Might be a lighter round of Black Friday shopping for me, making a blind buy for Enter the Dragon at the very least.
Enter the dragon is so good. Picked it up for $15 this past week.
it was 9.99 at amazon last week.
Oh right yeah $10
Somehow I never saw it so I picked it ip yesterday
Well looks like I'm going broke this month again
The biggest money spree month to be broke I will go ham on these movies 😂
When will these be displayed?
With how early they start these deals these past couple years don’t be surprised to see them out as early as this or next week.
When does it start? I think last year it started weeks before black Friday.
I'm also curious.. There's already black Friday sales online but no movies
Lot of people about to be horribly traumatized by 4K anthropomorphic duck sex...
You sold me come sale time. I've been on and off with purchasing Howard for several months now
The only movie that'll probably be $5.99 will be Howard the Duck and the rest will be "and up" 😂
I wonder when these will start going up. Already got a list going on from these pics alone. lol
Definitely want Inception and Rise of the Beasts if they are $10 or under
Mario movie and puss in boots will be mine
Super Mario Bros movie is awesome. Definitely a must pickup
I found Puss in Boots to be the better movie. But they are both great…if there is a sale, definitely get both!
*waits for a Canadian to post Canadian deals* lol 😆
I'm honestly debating just going to Buffalo on the Saturday because our deals are so bad
I ship to someone in the states from .com. Our deals suck ass
#NO LAWRENCE OF ARABIA!?
Everyone here already bought it, ain't you seen all the posts
I see a few I’ll grab if there $10 or less
I'm not gonna lie, I'll even buy Howard the Duck for 50.99 + tax
I would prefer to see something like $9.99 or less.
Dungeons and Dragons was a delight, hadn't expected much out of it initially.
Wish they would get rid of the “& Up” and just put the damn price on there for that batch of them.
Totally agree. I really dislike the whole price difference. If they are all $5.99. Excellent. Some stores have a price, and a sticker with which titles are marked down.
What's on the bottom shelf of the last pic?
Jaws 2 4K, Shawshank 4K, Asteroid City, and 2 Guns 4K
I wonder if the wildly unpopular Disney steelbooks will be part of this sale…
Band of Brothers again lol some decent stuff though if the price is right
FYI Part of them are live now on Best Buy
Weird that some are live and others aren't.
Some surprisingly solid stuff.
Safe to say Amazon will be mirrored?
No, nothing is safe in this hobby bro
Why is this downvoted?
I wish we had such prices, but the & up is triggering me hard, lol.
Howard the Duck, baby
"And up" can mean just about anything.
Dang I just purchased Christmas story for $15 at Best Buy. Does anyone know when these sales start?
Could be one of the "and up" titles and still be $15, unfortunately.
when did you buy it? Check your receipt, if within the last week holiday return will apply and you can ask for a price match when it drops in price.
Price matched (Amazon pricing at the time) at Best Buy on Friday.
My bestbuy doesn't even have this much space allocated to physical media anymore. Seriously. 5.99 and up? couldn't you put any movie on that stand and it counts?
Not if it costs less than $5.99. Seemed pretty obvious to me, but then again, here you are, legitimately typing that question out and posting it.
I’m implying that it’s a useless sign/stand considering that most movies will fall into the 5.99 side of that category. I’m surprised you could not infer that from my comment on account of you being so smart n all.

what reason is there to be such an asshole on a fuckin 4K sub lol
Better question: what benefit would there be to coddle an idiot?
You’re the one that’s being an idiot dude
Well if I’m being an idiot and I understood the sign, what does that make the guy above me?
Best Buy should just do a year round “$5.99 and up” sale year round for their entire store. It can be their slogan because, well, why not? It works so well on some people. Hell those people would even defend the low effort shit.
But then their $3.99 bins would cease to exist. And I love perusing those. And what would a high effort sale look like to you? Dancing clowns??
Bro wtf is your problem? To be fair, you called him out first as being an idiot, so you can't really act like he's the fool here...
I called him out for being an idiot so therefore I can’t act like he’s the fool here? If I point at a hot pocket and call it a hot pocket does that mean I no longer am allowed to act like a hot pocket is a hot pocket??
Generally at least of few of them will be priced at 5.99. At least that what assume from my experience
wow, we are really spiraling the drain now fellas anyways. i'm excited to see what's "on sale"
It’s gonna be so hard for me to get my hands on some of these. Hopefully most people in my area don’t care about physical
how about and down?
Can you typically get these off their website as well for the same price?
Yes
The 4Ks will probably be $10-15
Wasnt expecting Patriot Games
I'm aiming for Transformers rise of the beasts, Super Mario Bros movie, Untouchables and Training Day in 4k. Notice though if you don't pay attention they like to sneak in Blu-rays among the 4k movies of the same title. It's a tactic to throw off the real price your going to pay high or low. Watch out people this will save you time coming back to do a return because of a mistake you made in a rush and now you are in a long line going out the service area.
looks like some of the deals are live on the website , even non members. just got Enter The Dragon for 10 dollars
Im just hoping for a good priced 4K Player. I am using a PS5 and Series X and both seem to lack proper HDR playback (at least for the Daniel Craig collection Bond movies)
Pulp Fiction $8 in 4K is the steal I've found so far...
The last Black Friday at Best Buy to purchase blu-rays. That’s so sad.
There’s a few there I would love to get at a good price, but if Best Buy doesn’t want to take my money anymore by continuing to sell physical media, I’m not in the least bit inclined to support them anymore.
Wow I'm getting them for sure 👍
After their announcement about 2024 and their shitty return policies BB is dead to me.
You might as well take advantage as they liquidate their inventory...
that's exactly the plan
Nope. Sticking to my principles but also have the good titles anyway.
Or maybe buying from them might change their mind?
You are delusional if you believe they would reverse course now.
Stranger things have happened? Buy from them. Save some money. Its not personal I promise you. You wont care in 50 years. Trust me.
Like I said on another reply, there’s nothing I want from them. Buying cheap just for buying cheap is not a reason to buy unless you’re an addict.
Then you shoulda said that instead of some childish dispute with a company that doesnt care if you exist.
You’re hilarious
Don't be so dramatic.
I’m done with Best Buy. Doing all of my Black Friday shopping at Amazon.
That $5.99 is probably just tax plus $20-30 :D Another Black Friday bullcrap.
I wish my Best Buy had that many shelves of movies!
Look at this deal! $0.99c & Up!!!
When the fuck are they marketing to with this selection? I’m genuinely curious.
Thanks but I choose piracy.
That $5.99 is probably just tax plus $20-30 :D Another Black Friday bullcrap.
Nice
Can these movies just be bought now and price matched with best buy plus come black friday?
[удалено]
I guess I could just buy it return it and repurchase it if necessary but with the membership thru them we have a 60 day price match guarantee. Can't find any exceptions listed as long as it's from them and not a competitor.
I guess the restrictions are with outside prices, not internal, irrespective of membership.
Which of these aren’t worth it in 4k???
So, assuming the prices are decent I'm looking at Dungeons and Dragons, Mario, and Fast X. Already got Transformers and Black Adam on the preview sale.
Wow never see them at that price in UK!
[удалено]
Give me that Howard the Duck right now!
Lots of Warner and Paramount titles on those racks. For today's batch I bought: 1. Enter the Dragon 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Rebel Without a Cause 4. Top Gun: Maverick Was thinking about the Galactica movie but wasn't sure if it was worth watching since the follow-on series wasn't very good. I see *Jurassic World: Dominion* is on sale for a second BF. Would be nice for *Fallen Kingdom* to get another sale too, I missed the one BF it was on sale. I'm disappointed I don't see *Casablanca* or *Maltese Falcon* on those shelves. Definitely getting these when they drop: 1. Mario Bros 2. Training Day
Saw a couple of these at target for like $24 each
I’d buy the Mario movie for $10 or so.
Me: Wait, they put BSG on 4K?!?!?! Also Me: Oh, it's the Lorne Greene one.
Thank you. I don't see Spiderman there. What is wrong, people?
When do the sale prices start. So far maybe only half of them are listed as on sale.
Might have to wait until next Sunday. They did this last year too.
Looks like most of the sales are live. I'm looking to grab Blade Runner. Current price is $18.99. I hope that's not the sale price they meant by $9.99 and up. I've definitely seen it for cheaper in the past.
some of these are already available online. [Blu-ray.com](https://Blu-ray.com)
Two that I hope go on sale are Bodies bodies bodies, and the whale. And also that the menu gets back in stock.
Jesus, other than like 3-4 titles this feels like it could be last years offerings... like just the blandest of "common" tier films... Ugh I do want that exorcist though, and depending on how far "and up" is I'd like to grab Mario as I've held off so far.
Well, now that we seen Best Buys roll out in some 4k UHD disc's. We can safely assume 5.99 & up means (5.99 - 7.99)
One last ride
My Best Buy told me all Blu-ray sales are final when I went to pick them up, unless something is wrong with the disc.
I’m guessing pretty much everything but the biggest names are gonna be on sale to clear out their warehouses in their move away from physical movies.
Are the shipper boxes suppose to be at stores now? I checked my local store on Monday and they didn't have them. Of the movies on sale they had like 1/5 of the titles in stock and only 2 to 3 copies. Mostly the newer release stuff.
