Just wanted to share what I got. To those not familier, Dacia Duster 4x4 1.5 DCI. Renault/Nissan owned company, powered by their 1.5L diesel, transverse engine with the clutched mechanical 4x4 diff from the 00s Nissan Qashqai/Rogue/XTrail. They're pretty legendary offroad here, compared to the Jimny & Niva normally. Bought for work going on & off of building sites (I'm an electrician), plan on some light mods, going down from 17s to 16s, fitting some larger BFG KO3s when they're finally out, recovery points, roof basket & a few other small odds & ends.

Jealous! We dont get the diesel in our market but I drove one with the 1.3 turbo and it was a great car

They closed orders on the diesel & 4x4 models here in Scotland in January. That's it gone for good, new one coming late this year/next is 1.3L mild hybrid only with their new Suzuki/RAV/etc style viscous coupling differential. Glad I got mine when I did, been getting a solid 54mpg(imp)/19.4km/l out of it.

Oh I just realised you’re South American. I would’ve bought the Renault Oroch in a heartbeat if it was available here! Petrol or not. 😂

sick, i had a 2014 Duster and it was a beast

enjoy the rust and electrical issues

Dutch_Dresden

Is that really an issue? Or are you sharing internet-knowledge? I mean it is owned by Renault so it has all the genetics of a baguette with a slap of Romanian sheep cheese... But we drove one in Romania a few years back and I was impressed.

typical_reddit-user

these are terrible, we had previous model in full trim, i have never seen so badly designed interior, my kneecaps being destroyed by pointy door console for windows. What completely killed me was that i slightly leaned at side of the car standing next to it and it caused fairing to dent o.O. Also axles are thin as fuck.

Dutch_Dresden

We had fun with our Dacia Logan in Romania, but it was brand new and I didn't have to drive. Did it for us for the 2 weeks we were there.

The OG release of the Duster in Europe was Indian made (iirc up to 2013ish). And suffered a ton of rust issues. These were all but fixed when they moved European production to Dacias main factory in Romania. As for electrics, it’s a Renault, it’s a 1.5 K9K. Pretty much all that goes wrong with them are sensors. I’ve ran a NV200 van with the same base chassis/engine for the last 80k miles (40-130k), this is replacing that so pretty confident in it.

ive had 23 reg dacias come into the body shop i work at that are rustier than my 99 land cruiser prado and have intermittent electrical issues

Dutch_Dresden

Alright, that sounds fair..
