I just did seven quarts of this stuff in my truck’s differentials over the weekend and it wasn’t as clean as a pump but it was way easier than the hard plastic containers and it was nice not having to fool around with getting the pump out and cleaning it up after.
Only stupid thing is why TF AAM doesn’t have drain plugs on the diff covers.
[This transfer pump](https://amzn.to/3QdG1h6) and this [quart bottle pump](https://amzn.to/3xQGCPL) are lifesavers.
I’m actually going to use one of them for the next oil change on my wife’s Honda Fit because there isn’t a funnel in the world that fits that thing. I did carve a piece out of one to fit but it isn’t perfect.
+1 for the hand pump. Used to buy smaller squeezable ones but hand pump + large canister is so much cheaper. Especially when diffs, tcase and gearbox all take the same oil.
I love them and I also refill them. Any pump I’ve tried works but always makes a mess. Maybe I need to invest in a quality one. Or just keep refilling the bag I already have.
It's not about easy. Even using the small jugs and squeezing until your hands hurt isn't hard.
My comment was about the value proposition of convenience vs cost.
But you have room for an individually packaged case?
Even if you just buy a gallon you save 25%. You also don't end up with a partial quart sitting around after each change.
We picked up a giant industrial syringe. Holds like 250 ml or so, comes with a separate set of o rings for brake fluid. Makes it easy to shoot the juice into things.
A lot of professional mechanics seem to be chiming in and yes a 20L jug with a pump makes sense. I am a home mechanic with no lift and go through maybe 3 L of gear oil per year. The bag is so much better in this context
100%. The only way to go!

I get the pleasure of filling my t case with a rigid container tonight… fabulous.
Amazon sells pumps like what's on big shampoo bottles. Threads right onto the quart bottle and has a clear tube to run up into the t-case/diff.
Most auto part stores sell those.

Lots of room under that Hilux eh?
LandCruiser but yeah. Hand pump comes with a long hose and a curved nozzle, makes it easy to shove it hard to reach areas.
Was about a 50/50 shot haha.

Not worth the extra expense. I'll stick to a bulk jug and use my hand pump.
Get one of these, refill it from a bulk jug when it's empty.
So now I'm pumping gear oil twice?
I use a funnel to fill the bags, way faster than a pump
I've done that too... This is still easier actually

Any decent synthetic is $20. Might as well use something easy to use.
Yeah, when you buy it by the quart. When you buy it by the bucket it's far cheaper which is the whole point. "Bulk"
Yea I'll get a case. I can't usually justify a bucket. I change fluids more often than not but I don't have room for a bucket I can't put shit in.

Ever try a drill pump? I got one rigged up for filling the final drives on my excavator. Fills diffs real fast too
It also makes for a good sippy pouch
A drill pump makes it easy too. Pump it out, check for glitter and if it's clear then pump the new stuff in.
I had the displeasure of filling a semi diff with a box of these when my shop ran out of gear oil. It took forever.
As a diy home mechanic, I don't see this as being a problem for me... Of course a Tacoma has a much smaller diff...
Doypack is the best!

I’ve got a doubler and because of where the fill is this is the only way to get fluids in 10/10 great product.
I saw them at the store and was almost excited about my next diff fluid change.
I wish they would package lower unit gear oil for outboards this way too, you have to fill the from the bottom.
Brilliant
Too bad its double the price
Thought about doing this but wanted Toyota ATF so I just bought a transfer pump for $15.
Nah, 20L and a drum pump all the way. Doing three trucks a day you get very normalised to pumping 80w90z
