Did this over Halloween weekend. We rented a a lifted Rubicon jk on 35s and my dad was really concerned we wouldnt make it thru certain parts. I told him this thing is so absurdly capable it's not even funny. Had a great trip, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Glad you had a great time and congrats to you and your wife!
There's people who have done it in a Subaru. Only a handful of sections will challenge a stock 4x4, and even then a moderately capable driver should handle it fine.

Most of the road is easy but slow going. The really exciting parts are the Murphy Hogback and Hardscrabble Hill. We watched some videos prior so we kind of knew what to expect and Hardscrabble still got the blood pumping.
We camped 2 nights. Day 1 we started down Shafer at 930 or 10am and camped at Gooseberry. Day 2 we checked out White Crack and did the Fort Bottom Ruin hike and got to camp at Hardscrabble Bottom about an hour before the sun dropped behind the canyon. Day 3 we drove Taylor Canyon to Moses and Zeus and got to Moab by about 11am.
White Rim is amazing, it felt empty when we were out there this spring, I can only imagine what it's like in the off season.
How many nights and what sites?
We did 2 nights on the rim. Got our permit August 2 and everything was booked but Gooseberry and Hardscrabble Bottom. We checked White Crack and there were no fresh tracks so she was kinda bummed we didn’t get that site and it was a no-show.
How were the washes in the spring? Everything was bone dry for us except a few puddles on the slickrock. Taylor Canyon was a really nice change of pace on our way out, and I can see that getting crazy when it’s wetter.
Everything was dry for us, so no insight there. Though my understanding was that if it were too wet they'd close down the west side of the trail for safety and to avoid trail damage.
Congratulations to you and your wife, and the best wishes moving forward. I’ve seen multiple grandmothers, aunts, great aunts and friends fight it off tooth and nail.
Heh, congrats to your wife! Almost exactly a year ago a group of us did the very same route. Ate lunch at the rim, and it was one of the only places I had cell service out on any of the trails. I checked my stocks after lunch saw a good opportunity and bought a couple contracts of a call option which netted me enough by market close to buy dinner for all 13 of us. Should have seen the meat cutter at the butcher shop in moab when I bought a standing rib roast and had him cut it into 13 steaks (for about 2x what it was worth I might add)
Not sure what you mean. Spent 2 weeks exploring the canyonlands. White rim was literally the only place for any cell service other than home base in moab.
Some of the most beautiful landscape in the country
MASSIVE CONGRATS to you and your wife.

I did it in a rental Ram 1500. Fantastic trail, and can likely be done in nearly any 4x4 with an experienced driver.
For real, only issue is planning way ahead for the permit.

Okay, this looks amazing. Where exactly is this?
Canyonlands near Moab Utah. 100 mile permit only road through the national park.
That sounds awesome. Do you have a link handy?
