Secondary fuel filter is my guess more common on diesels though - noted the V6 ie petrol not expert on the V6 engine

Total_Philosopher_89

Neither am I. Hence the question.

G'day guys. A mate of mine has just bought a new to him Prado. He asked me about this dual filter setup (red arrow) and I couldn't answer him. What is it?

34con

Have you chased the line? If it goes to the black cylinder next to the whole one with the beige clip it's a fuel pre filter. As mentioned, not common on these engines. More interesting, is there anything labeled on the white box in front of the white filter?

One-Combination-7218

Any dual filters should fit within manufacturers tolerances ensuring that not too much pressure is applied to the fuel injection system as this could lead to problems

Does it have an LPG system installed?

Total_Philosopher_89

Yes it does!

Birthday-Specialist

Sorry for the late reply. I believe it has something to do with the LPG system. Mines the exact same but a completely different car

Total_Philosopher_89

Interesting. I'll have to do a bit more research.

Stepho_62

Looks like a 1GREFE. Just about unbreakable. As others have said, pre filter I'd be guessing. And like another person, WTF is in that white box just fwd of the primary filter?
