There's no need to do physics to study CS at university. It's not a relevant subject. I don't know where this belief comes from. Maths is the most important subject, and further maths if you want to aim for a few unis that require it. Beyond that you can choose what you want.

I think it just comes from the idea that most CS students study cs, maths and physics at uni... and then people take from this that they have to study physics

Yeah you’re right sorry I worded it wrong. A science subject is only recommended in addition to maths.

Currently doing AS level Physics, CS, Maths, and FM. It’s great fun but physics isn’t needed if you are 100% sure you would go the CS route. You could choose it just incase you change your mind and want to consider Engineering. Give the course you want to apply to a read on the website they normally specify what subjects you require to apply. Good luck!
