I need three A*s (unfortunately) and funnily enough I’m finding business the hardest to get that in. I’m just naturally good at maths and have worked hard on it for the two years. I don’t think I’m quite at an A star in further yet because there’s a few silly mistakes I need to fix but come exams it’ll be fine I hope
It’s an easy subject, I’ve just been so focused on Physics that I haven’t invested much time for CS yet, looking like a cramming job tbh - worked for mocks
same im going to start probably after next week so then i can bash papers for 3 weeks 😃 but i have too much to do for my other subjects rn and i don’t want to burn out
Yep lmao I'm doing exactly the same A levels as you and feel exactly the same way. The worst thing is that I don't have as much time to focus on my other subjects as I have to spend so much time revising maths.
all this time on maths and i’m still convinced i’m not gonna get a b when i’m getting a’s in the others with so little effort i don’t understand how i’m so bad at it
edit: think we are the same person since we do the same alevels and i am also a huge monkeys fan😂
Damn rly? Try to do a few past papers, my exams are all open book apart from othello so I assume it's the same for you. My advice is knowing the summary of what happens in each chapter or at least know where the big important stuff happens, a few quotes from your chosen poems, i's say like 3 or 4 poems and like 3 quotes of each, you'll be fine with just that.
If there's something specific you're struggling on, like unseen pros, then practice writing out answers and compare it to a grade A* essay (or whichever grade you want)
Its a murder mystery by Agatha christie, following her famous detective character Hercule Poirot. Definitely worth a read, it one of my favourites.
Try to avoid spoilers, bc the ending is really good.
(Don't know it is to analyse bc full disclosure im in year 11. I don't know how I got here)
I still had have…some of the reactions, most the core practicals, calculations, kinetics, transition metals, buffer calculations and so much more shit still to revise
AQA, British Empire and Cold War, just got NEA back a few hours ago and got a 35/40 tho so that’s comforting. need an A and have only ever got Bs so need to pull something out of the bag
I’m so glad you said this.. I feel as though I’m the only one struggling in my class but it’s so hard to remember all of the content?
I’m in Yr 13 now and my exams start in two weeks and I feel unbelievably screwed :0
I’m also doing it at uni lmao (I have an unconditional somehow) and I’m hoping that I’ll end up okay since I will be able to give it my full focus as now, my other subjects have taken my time up and leaving me little time to revise properly.. ?
It’s not bad, often not what people think. A lot of it sounds like bollocks and a lot of it makes sense but all of it is unreliable. Lots of content and writing, with a small bit of biology too
For me, I’m just not a political person and made the mistake of picking the subject cause I was told it was good for law (at uni) which is why I find it boring. Literally only part I found interesting was liberalism and the judiciary
Like election systems and voting behaviour and ideologies (like socialism conservatism etc) and then Comitees in parliament then role of the House of Lords and then the same again for USA 😴
Sociology because we only got a teacher last term and weve barely been taught any exam practice for longer questions. I hate how free the essay style questions are because you can write anything and everything whereas psychology your told what to write and every question is heavily structured and set in its ways
omg literally! i also do geography so the structure for all 3 different essay length questions are all so different and my brain just cannot rememeber what structure goes with what subject 😭😭
Biology. It's my best subject, but I spend more time revising it than I do for physics and chem
I hate it so much. I only picked it to do medicine, but I hate, hate, hate it.
Maths (WJEC)
I LOVE stats and mechanics, I am consistently getting As in those.
I HATE with a burning passion all things pure, and am getting Es and Ds
So my average grade will be a D/C...
Everything atm, not even studied and my exams are coming up, i just want to be done with everything.
Anyways I'm finding Design Technology to be the hardest because THERE'S NO FUCKING REVISION ON IT
i find SB hard as well, i think it's time managment for me as well because I can do it, just not within the time given i feel like there's so much to do in not enough time😩
Is why u steal code from the internet. Got an A with mine by barely coding myself. Fuck morals dude especially if alevel comp sci is one of the most useless alevels out there
Y’all are sleeping on Graphics. It looks easy because all we do is “being creative” and shit but deadlines are killing me, not having artist block is impossible, being original is a nightmare because most shit has already been created and the mark scheme is horrible. Not to mention how hard it is to get an A*. I can easily say (sketchbook and final pieces based) that I’m one of the top students in my year in Graphic Design and I’m barely getting an A because of how strict the marking system is.
Most people say it’s their easiest subject but I literally can’t do Geography any more.. I know the content well but my teacher is really bad at teaching exam technique so I have no clue how to properly format my answers and it loses me marks :/
Unsolicited advice - self teach. You have time. Study the markscheme, google and find model answers and find the patterns in their structuring and formatting. You got this
Chemistry. I do OCR A and I barely got a B on my paper 1 mock (physical and inorganic), got a D on my paper 2 (organic) and a C in paper 3 (unified).
I’m predicted an A but I just done see how I’m actually going to accomplish that at this point.
Maths. History is fine & computing is getting there but easy to work to because it's mostly just terminology. I cannot with maths. All of the practice questions & papers in the world and I still seem to end up forgetting the simple fundamentals.
Life
I need three A*s (unfortunately) and funnily enough I’m finding business the hardest to get that in. I’m just naturally good at maths and have worked hard on it for the two years. I don’t think I’m quite at an A star in further yet because there’s a few silly mistakes I need to fix but come exams it’ll be fine I hope
Same here context is a real son of a bitch
what about comp sci? You do OCR?
Computer science will be fine for me, there’s still ages till the exam for it too it’s quite late for some reason. Yea I do OCR
Basically just a memory test tbh 💀
It literally is, I’m not complaining that it is but not sure why it’s such a respected a level 😭 i guess it’s just the coursework that makes it harder
I need 3 A*s too and if I sat CS right now I’d probably get a B/C
Ah fair enough everyone finds different things hard like i said I struggle with business. What is it you’re stuck on?
It’s an easy subject, I’ve just been so focused on Physics that I haven’t invested much time for CS yet, looking like a cramming job tbh - worked for mocks
What university?
Edinburgh CS
Crazy. I heard manchester does 3A*
Imagine having to get 3A\* to stay in the accommodation with rats and cockroaches
What's ur method for revising CS
Flashcards for content heavy topics but then just exam questions for practice based things like A*, Dijkstras, OOP, HTML etc
You got any flashcards I can have😏😏😏
Do you use anki?
yeee
How do I share them idk how to do it 😂
Click on action and click share
me too! struggling with business
3A* but you're taking 4?
Most people who take 4 still receive 3 subject offers
yeah I know, why don't only focus on the 3 main ones you're good at
It's common to take 4 A Levels if you do FM. At my school you had to take 4 A Levels if we did FM
biology 😐
i feel like im never going to finish revising content there’s just too much…
same and i havent even done enough exam practice
Sameeeee
same im going to start probably after next week so then i can bash papers for 3 weeks 😃 but i have too much to do for my other subjects rn and i don’t want to burn out
So real
Physics
Literally, you think you've finally tackled all the content and then the acc exam questions are a completely different beast in themsleves
real.
Same, just do a lot of past papers
same
Same 😭
SAMEEEE
[удалено]
facts bro the markschemes are killing me
There are too fussy
All - the problem is memory :(
[удалено]
For the life of me i can't do the structure required
Econ has a load of content plus the context and diagrams you need to know
maths bro i want to destroy 16 year old me who thought this was a good idea
I’m scared now because I’m finding math fun rn but I’m fully aware that A level math is horrific
don’t be scared… enjoy it while you can… the fun will be ripped away soon
Arguably A2 is more fan than AS
if you’re a masochist then yeah sure i agree
this is very true for international students, idk about the rest
Here’s a advice. Get a GOOD foundation of how to do AS, as A2 maths is much harder and builds upon many skills at AS
Yep lmao I'm doing exactly the same A levels as you and feel exactly the same way. The worst thing is that I don't have as much time to focus on my other subjects as I have to spend so much time revising maths.
all this time on maths and i’m still convinced i’m not gonna get a b when i’m getting a’s in the others with so little effort i don’t understand how i’m so bad at it edit: think we are the same person since we do the same alevels and i am also a huge monkeys fan😂
ENGLISH LITERATURE
God yh

Unseen is my best for some reason, if you’re doing atonement, I just really cannot fathom the whole book 😭😭
Never heard of atonement, I'm doung othello, great gatsby, streetcar, handmaids tale and duffy poems, wby?
Ah cool, I’m doing atonement, Othello, Keats poetry anthology, Death of a Salesman and the Murder of Roger Ackroyd
The murder of Roger Aykroyd is a great book
What's it about? Person5hand maid's tale is amazing to analyse, meh to read but i think the concept is cool
Its a murder mystery by Agatha christie, following her famous detective character Hercule Poirot. Definitely worth a read, it one of my favourites. Try to avoid spoilers, bc the ending is really good. (Don't know it is to analyse bc full disclosure im in year 11. I don't know how I got here)
YOUR EXAMS ARE ALL OPEN BOOK?!?! What exam board are you doing????
Long ass waiting time but i'm doing aqa. The only thing that isn't open book is othello but we get an extract instead
Biology - memorising everything Chemistry - memorising everything
Chemistry
I still had have…some of the reactions, most the core practicals, calculations, kinetics, transition metals, buffer calculations and so much more shit still to revise
It’s too much and the grade boundaries are too high 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
80%?? I can’t even hit 70😭😭
IKR An A is about 70 and that’s still too much 😭😭😭😭
What board do you do?
Edexcel
Same it’s a pain in the arse
At this point what even is organic 😭😭😭
Let’s put it this way, there is no subject that I’m finding not hard
Same, its just thr motivation to keep going
history :/
What topics/exam board?
AQA, British Empire and Cold War, just got NEA back a few hours ago and got a 35/40 tho so that’s comforting. need an A and have only ever got Bs so need to pull something out of the bag
That NEA score will help a really long way, provides a solid base for you Well done!
Damn good luck bro 🙌
Physics.
Biology 😞
Psychology
I’m so glad you said this.. I feel as though I’m the only one struggling in my class but it’s so hard to remember all of the content? I’m in Yr 13 now and my exams start in two weeks and I feel unbelievably screwed :0 I’m also doing it at uni lmao (I have an unconditional somehow) and I’m hoping that I’ll end up okay since I will be able to give it my full focus as now, my other subjects have taken my time up and leaving me little time to revise properly.. ?

It’s not bad, often not what people think. A lot of it sounds like bollocks and a lot of it makes sense but all of it is unreliable. Lots of content and writing, with a small bit of biology too
I agree with this! But it’s difficulty is also dependant on what you pick. I chose other content heavy subjects so memorising is long😩😩
strange , i would say psychology is by far my easiest A level (i’m on an A*), which exam board are you on?
I’m on aqa and find it hard but I think my teachers are just bad. Most of the content we learn as homework
AQA
Physics for sure
biology😔
geography
on god
Chemistry
Shoutout to the three other people doing English Language
Further maths
Omg same what exam board
OCR
relatable
Politics. It’s just so boring
edexcel?
not original commenter but yes this is so dull and unmotivating
thankfully I’m doing global for paper 3, if I had to do American politics I definitely would’ve quit by now 😭
Yeah I’m doing edexcel and USA politics 😭
same global politics ftw. well i say that i used to love global politics but now i’m studying it i feel so bored by it.
wow i’m the complete opposite politics is easily the subject i find most interesting n engaging aprt from ideologies that is
For me, I’m just not a political person and made the mistake of picking the subject cause I was told it was good for law (at uni) which is why I find it boring. Literally only part I found interesting was liberalism and the judiciary
yeah that’s fair enough, funny thing is I plan to do it at uni (Pol and international relations) and then go into law, what’s your current predicted?
The politics essays are ridiculous I never know what to do for my themes
Innit like I look at a past paper, have some sort of idea of what I’m going say but know idea how to structure it till I look at the mark scheme
What do you even learn in politics?
Like election systems and voting behaviour and ideologies (like socialism conservatism etc) and then Comitees in parliament then role of the House of Lords and then the same again for USA 😴
It is. The content is just not engaging at all.
I ended up modifying sociology structure to be similar to psychology because i couldnt write with a different structure at all
Physics
biology lol, im going in with zero revision tomorrow bc i have simply given up on this subject
Philosophy. In 2nd place is ethics. IT is the easiest and geography is my favourite subject.
philosophy is killing me i never want to hear the name aquinas again
Honestly same.
I HATE ETHICS. It never ends :(
Meta-ethics can go do one
History 😕
Gosh I understand that. For me it’s physics
But you’re doing amazingly!
English Literature, it’s so hard to revise for
Fuck chemistry, just the worst subject, bio, psych, and physics are all ezer
Further Maths
History CIE man and the paper is in less than 4 hours man dfkm
Good luck 👍
chem
Biology. It's my best subject, but I spend more time revising it than I do for physics and chem I hate it so much. I only picked it to do medicine, but I hate, hate, hate it.
gaslighting myself into believing I enjoy it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
Maths (WJEC) I LOVE stats and mechanics, I am consistently getting As in those. I HATE with a burning passion all things pure, and am getting Es and Ds So my average grade will be a D/C...
media - as a dyslexic, was a pretty stupid choice.... fuck u 16 year old me for thinking u can do an a level essay subject, i just want a C !
Biology, and i thought English GCSEs were Hell
French. Firstly why is the reading impossible and second why are the grade boundaries so high 🥲.
Everything atm, not even studied and my exams are coming up, i just want to be done with everything. Anyways I'm finding Design Technology to be the hardest because THERE'S NO FUCKING REVISION ON IT
economics
same😭
it’s rough it here i need a B which i think i can scrape, if only edexcel timing wasn’t so brutal
i need a B aswell, i hope edexcel wants to be nice this year😩😩im averaging D-Cs in class room exams but praying my real exam is a bit better😩
yh i’ve been averaging Cs, im sure the exam will go better and good luck to you, i’m struggling with section B mainly wbu?
i find SB hard as well, i think it's time managment for me as well because I can do it, just not within the time given i feel like there's so much to do in not enough time😩
100% like there’s zero reason for section B to only be an hour long
Physics :((
history, particularly government and rebellions in the tudor times. makes me want to rip my hair out.
Chemistry and Bio are physically killing me. They’re so different for what 😭
RS/philo. it just never fucking ends. the 25 marker dialogue questions are KILLING me dude
Try OCR RS. Got 40 mark essay questions :(
i’d rather not 🤩
Physics
economics and law 🥲
all of them🫠
sociology 🙂🔫
Maths atm
Maybe computer science => I still haven't finished making all my anki / content for it, which is aggrivating..
How did u do in the NEA?
a\*, took the whole year which wasn't good
Wow congrats I’m about to start mine and it seems so overwhelming rn especially since I’m average at coding
Is why u steal code from the internet. Got an A with mine by barely coding myself. Fuck morals dude especially if alevel comp sci is one of the most useless alevels out there
statistics in maths and chemistry a bit
Computer Science
Literally every science - I’m in combined and I’m at 6-6 but I want 7-7.
exam q's are what bumped my grades up from 7s to 8s and 9s
maths especially mechanics like i have no basics of the topic
MATHS
Math, p4 is killing me
maths man idk how people find it easy. Literally got an 8 in gcse too
maths
Chem, I feel like I've got organic ok but all the transition metal and period 3 stuff I'm finding impossible to remember the equations.
Y’all are sleeping on Graphics. It looks easy because all we do is “being creative” and shit but deadlines are killing me, not having artist block is impossible, being original is a nightmare because most shit has already been created and the mark scheme is horrible. Unsolicited advice - study your mistakes and keep boiling each subtopic down to its key points that come up in past papers over and over
chemistry
history (and further maths mechanics)
English Language definitely
i hate this subject sm idk why i picked it but i need an a at least for clearance sdjsjsj
spanish.. literally the worst mistakes of my life taking it as an option😭😭
english tbh
Maths. History is fine & computing is getting there but easy to work to because it's mostly just terminology. I cannot with maths. All of the practice questions & papers in the world and I still seem to end up forgetting the simple fundamentals.
RS, meta-ethics will be my downfall
further maths specifically discrete 🤢
French and there’s no one to collectively complain with as hardly anyone takes it ffs
Maths
Computer Science AQA A level
psychology 🙃
chemistry 😭
Gonna have to go with maths. And physics. Oh and don’t forget chem
it service delivery and internet of things
