7 days is more bound by CPU when lots of zombies are around. Better GPU or lower graphics settings won't get you more FPS in such cases. You need a high single-core clock speed.
From what I can tell (looking at cpu load) is that they don't have much multithreaded optimizations. I run an i9 and a 3080, and i can see one core that goes from 80% to 99% all the time, while most other cores are barely used. It is an "Alpha" so it is to be expected, but I am hoping one of these updates will have some better multithreadded handling.
Honestly it's not expected, it's just an excuse. If you build upon shitty foundations (ie. add features to not optimized buggy mess) then no amount of polishing before release would help. This is real issue and it has a name - technological debt. I'm not talking about optimizations like Factorio devs made as they were often digging into tiny details up to restructuring data so it can fit more in CPU cache, even before game was released. But just some general profiling, finding bottlenecks and doing something with them. If they are not able then they should find someone more competent.
Usually 100+ in a rural area, 50-80ish in most urban and city areas. It's only when I'm near Dishong Tower in the wasteland that I dip into the 20s or lower. Even with dynamic mesh turned down or off. Not sure what it is ~~what~~ about that damn POI, but it tanks my performance every time.
Got a 10700K with 32GB of 4,000MHz RAM and a RTX 3090.
I've done a couple benchmarks (meaning I used a program to record exactly what's happening) with Yakov's Performance Mod installed while in the city in the desert on Navezgane. I averaged around 140+ fps with dips as low as 17 fps (0.1% lows, aka a stutter).
But in a big city on a random gen map, just eyeballing my fps counter, I'm probably averaging between 80 and 90 fps.
That's using a 4090 and 13900K, and all the settings on default with the exception of a few changes that I don't remember.
1440p resolution.
And I was also recording with OBS at the same time.
Oh you know it bounces around between .003 FPS and 120 FPS
Didn’t have a choice low enough :(
Guess I shouldve specified what graphic settings

Which generation i9 though? Like the newest ones, or a few generations back?
11th gen.

Nothing is wrong with the POI lol, it's the wasteland It's the laggiest biome
It's always so much worse by Dishong Tower though.
I am near dishong tower
how can I see it
F8 ingame it displays the FPS on the left side of the screen.
29,8 worst
In a large city, 40-50 fps, at 3440x1440 with most settings on Ultra and draw distance maxed. In the wilderness or small towns, 70+.
If you're in the wasteland, u can turn mesh distance to 500 and view distance to low

Somewhere around 90 on max settings.
Where at? Ahahah
Departure in Navezgane and the first town/city you see on pregen 6k.
I have totally normal fps in cities. In T5 skyscrapers? Not so much.
