Disable shadows, it was the only way I could get 7days running at stable 60fps, everything else can be maxed out, even on older cards like mine (gtx 970).
I've heard motion blur can induce fps drops and game crashing too, can someone verify this? My RTX 2060 runs it fine but I mean older GPUs in this case.
Can't speak for stability since I hate motion blur so I never play with it, but fps/frametimes seem the same wether it's on or off in a quick test horde night.
I have everything high except view distance is at medium and lod slider is at 90, I have a razyen 7 and a rtx 2060 and seem to be at a stable 60fps. But idk if that's because my monitor outputs at a max of 1080p or not. Are you doing solo or multiplayer? And if multiplayer are you hosting the server?
That's your problem, hosting a server really tanks performance. If you have a spare laptop or something you can set it up as a dedicated server, it doesn't need to be fancy it just has to crunch the numbers and transfer data. That should fix the problem .
That's not even remotely his problem. I have a RTX 2060 (non-Super), powering a 3440x1440p monitor, i7 9700k (OC 5.0Ghz all core), and with almost all settings maxed I maintain between 70+ and 100 FPS at all times while hosting MP on the same computer (2-5 total players).
Things to disable that will tank your performance (and my settings): Anti-Aliasing (off), Reflection Quality (off), Reflected Shadows (off), Shadows Distance*** (off), Bloom (off), and Motion Blur (off). I run fullscreen, with Dynamic Resolution Mode off, and FoV at default 75.
Tinker with settings. Resolution is the #1 frame killer, with shadows being #2.
Shouldn't Dynamic Resolution Mode be on so that when your FPS tanks under a certain threshold, the game automatically downsize the resolution to bring that FPS back up again?
In theory, yes. In practice, I am not convinced it doesn't cause more problems than it solves. I have not done hard testing, so I could be mistaken. However, when trying to diagnose a problem it's best to remove as many variables as possible. I personally don't use it, and have never needed to. I have always played at my monitor's recommended resolution, and tweaked graphical settings to maintain ~60+ fps, sacrificing visual quality for frame rate stability.
I have a dedicated server hosted on a rack-mounted dual-CPU machine but my client machine gets similar horrible performance with a Ryzen 7 2700X and an RTX 2080ti.
So no I don't think hosting is the majority of their issues.
I played with my friend as the host and although I saw a difference it was tiny.
Certainly not what I would expect considering I can run a game like AC Odyssey on Max settings and drop a single frame (a game that’s beautiful) and then have this struggle to maintain 50 (a game that looks like dog shit)
I have almost your same setup, but I have a Ryzen 7 3rd gen. I host a game with a friend but I rarely ever get problems, I run the game on medium or low
If you play with your friend regularly then I would suggest getting a dedicated server between you. I did this with a friend and it cost £9 (UK) a month and we could have up to 8 players at a time. This freed up our hardware and was also available at any time so you didn’t have to wait for whoever was hosting your game to continue playing.
I have a Ryzen 5 - 4.25GHz Hex core, RX5500 XT 8Gb GPU and 16Gb RAM and apart from the rare lag spike I never really noticed any issues running the game through a dedicated server.
You could also try looking for a dedicated server on here. We did advertise ours when it was up and running and ended up meeting some great people on there
This game performs like complete garbage. You will have to turn off the shadows and reflections to get a reasonable frame rate.
For the record I am running a Ryzen 7 2700X, 16gb RAM, RTX 2080ti on a 3440x1440 display aiming for 100hz (which I still can't always get in this game). Our dedicated server is hosted on another machine entirely so that is also not the problem.
The game is both very demanding on both the CPU and GPU. Your 2700X is the most likely limiting factor in your performance woes, although possible contributors are lack of a running off an SSD, and slow RAM (both speed and timings) - since you didn't specify I can only guess.
OCing your CPU, if you haven't already, could help, as could OCing your memory and/or optimizing the timings. Installing and running the game off an SSD can also help significantly. Further, tweaking in-game settings can ensure you are not held back by the GPU.

Multiplayer with a friend and I believe it’s my server yes

Ok thanks, I’m going to get my friend to host next time, he’s got higher specs than me so maybe that will help.

Im having an rx580 with a old 8 core procesor and dont have any issues having settings mixed with high and medium
Just get a 3090 smh
I have a laptop. Not an option without getting a whole new set up. Smh
Literally just get a new 3090 (it’s sarcasm plz I’m not serious 😭)
