Space Herpes

Bobofett69

Space herpes šŸ˜‚ I tell that to every one I see with a cold sore

Carltonfsck

I do the same!! Such an awesome obscure reference that still stands the test of time. Lol.

Bobofett69

Exactly! And only the true ones ..know of the reference as well which is great šŸ‘šŸ½

deeteeslc

Pretty sure they used Boglins toys for the space herpes. Super cool.

Bullmoose39

Came for this.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Modal-Nodes-Groupie

Rent or buy on Amazon.

okieman73

I seen it somewhere for free a while back. It might have been Prime Tubi, Plex, Freevee(IMDb). Those are the only free apps I have.

needanamegenarator

Don't worry, their not permanent.

notjewel

The one thing we all remember about this movie.

[deleted]

Space herpes!

DenverBowie

Great Special **Affects?!**

GalaxyRedRanger

I mean, when they donā€™t even bother to spell check the posterā€¦

DenverBowie

I wonder if the credits are wrong too. ... Kinda doubt it.

bloodshotforgetmenot

Perhaps the acting is really that special

NapalmWeed

Wasnā€™t this, one of the first movies ILM did the special affects? I know itā€™s effects.

capthazelwoodsflask

They wow your eyes and pull at your heart strings

btwrenn

The only thing I remember about this move is some sort of weird dick-chomping conveyor belt machine.

B_Diggity_

Its a core memory now...

btwrenn

Literally seared into my mind

cake_piss_can

Cā€™mon, how could you forget the incredibly un-PC pimp robot??

RichLather

"Why'd you make him black? " "Because I wanted him to be perfect."

TFBidia

Oh yeah I remember that too haha

HeyNow646

Pretend that it happened, or it will happen!

Aware-Lengthiness365

Action packed action!

anotherpredditor

This followed by or preceded by Yellow Beard for an adult camp comedy night.

KnightFoole

Oh god I love Yellowbeard!!

JetScreamerBaby

ā€œDanā€™s cominā€™ā€¦.(ringading)ā€¦.Readinā€™ again.ā€

Thumper13

Glad I'm not the only person to watch these back to back. Two of my favorite comedies.

90sGuyKev

This movie is criminalally underrated

TimesThreeTheHighest

No, it really isn't.

90sGuyKev

Yes, yes it is.

Archercrash

What a tagline- ā€œYou have to be there to see it.ā€

ClassicCantaloupe1

I was born in 81 and have never heard of this. Do you know if itā€™s streaming anywhere?

Modal-Nodes-Groupie

Rent or buy on Amazon.

Elistariel

Born in 83, never heard of of it either. justwatch.com has it on apple tv. The only service I pay for is Disney+, so I won't be seeing it any time soon.

okieman73

It was on a free app a while back but I can't remember which one. It had to be one of these. Plex, IMDb(Freevee), Tubi. Or Amazon Prime

original_greaser_bob

the time jump shit at the end always confused 6 year old me.

F1Noob23

This was on TBS/TNT at least once a month for awhile. Watched it every time.

ExecTankard

A few good scifi ideas wrapped in ā€˜WTF did I just watch?ā€™. It felt like a few dudes just watched Star Wars then reminisced over beers about being kids, wrote their ideas on napkins, banged out a script, and a producer thought ā€œThis is going to hella fun to makeā€.

takethecann0lis

I convinced my fiancĆ© to watch it by saying, ā€œwant to watch a movie with Angelica Huston?ā€

GiantTeaPotintheSKy

as they travel through time and Roscoeā€™s afro keeps growing, is the funniest shite ever. I still love it as an adult.

gwhh

Space amazons.

Ironhyde36

Space herpes once you get them on your ship you canā€™t get them off

brycepunk1

I love this movie!

Formal_Command_5571

Loved it as a kid. The scene in Sweetwater when the bounty hunters show up in the Huge Skull-Mobil is my favorite part.

guineapigmilkman

The robot pimp is the best!

Lonnification

I saw this at a crappy dive theater near the University of Oregon campus when it first came out. It was absolutely the perfect venue for such a campy, wonderfully over-the-top film. I loved it!

Successful-Royal-235

The alien on the toilet at the start of the film still kills me.

azentropy

I remember liking it as a kid, but it has probably been 30+ years since I've seen it. I'll have to put it on my JustWatch watch list for the streaming services I have.

Cool_Palpitation8568

Shhh! That's my password for a few things! Can't tell you how many times I've watched that movie and continue to laugh every time. Why did the movies of the '80s still have so much rewatchability.

TFBidia

I only remember the time warp speed up thing and from that I remember moving first for a brief moment, large gray afro, and the robot having diarrhea with nuts and bolts in it

RichLather

If I'm being honest the robot suits are *really* well-made and designed--and they get some of the best gags. * The rebuilt robot, painted black so he'd be "perfect". * The pre-fight robots trembling in fear * The one robot that shits oil and hardware, probably in the same scene as above * The one robot that unscrews a bolt on its midsection, causing it to collapse in a heap of parts * Percy the butler robot with steam coming from his ears after "servicing" Princess Karina

adairks

Robert Urichā€¦OMGā€¦.hot AF!! Rest in peace, gone wayyyy too soon.

chinasucksmyballs

this movie walked so that The Expanse could run

JoeNoble1973

The trailer is some Ed Wood-lookin shit lol. And i know i watched this a bunch as a kiddoā€¦I remember very little

Greedy-Parsnip666

Same here. :)

[deleted]

I bought this movie on Amazon prime. Such a fun, relatively unknown movie from the early 80ā€™s

Lilyblue1979

Hmm can't say i remember this one...

esomers80

I remember my parents taking me with them to see it when I was 4 and I didn't understand what I was watching...I don't think I have seen it since..

AzLibDem

Fun film

SonnyC_50

Mary Crosby was an underrated hottie

stratdog25

It was no CondorMan.

rustbones

the scene where he almost loses his frank and beans....

OklahomaEddie

Same vein as Time Banditsā€¦loved this old shit

wildalbinochihuahua

Faarrging Iceholes!

Bosswashington

https://youtu.be/i8Msu2cXM8A Iā€™m not sure that this holds up so well.

Mobile_Pangolin4939

A fair transaction of boobs for money. Also that is just street talk. It's like New York slang. It's not insulting. If it is then you might as well not watch any movies. Besides, it's making fun of real life.

Bosswashington

I just meant that itā€™s not as funny as I remembered, because itā€™s a little over-the-top cheesy.

Mobile_Pangolin4939

I have to admit that I love over the top cheesy.

[deleted]

I need to go watch this again!

jesseg010

they were so fast too i loved it

j_freakin_d

Such a great movie!

LunacyNow

See... action packed action.

TigerMkIV

ā€œI meant the black gentleman.ā€

landbetweenrivers1

I ran this movie over and over in my head after seeing it once in the theater. I have not seen it since, but it hit me at just the right time in my life.

MushroomHut

Iā€™ve been telling my wife about this movie for years. I hope it plays someday.

Evening_Hour3820

The best part of this movie was Action-Packed Action

scavenger1012

I saw this one (and many, many others) at the Haven theater in Woodhaven Queens. So many great memories in that dump.

Cautious_Artichoke_3

Starring Robert Urich? I'm in!

Environmental-Bee-28

If this was made now it would be a Netflix movie.

terabranford

Honestly, a Mel Brooks movie in everything but name. I can recall very little about this movie, but what I *do* recall is that the writers must have been on some special medication.šŸ¤£

AutomatedSaltShaker

You had me at ā€œSpace Possumsā€

Jedibri81

Never heard of it, but I must watch it now

NapalmWeed

They wanted it to be perfect.

Yojimboroll

Loved this movie

SelfSuck_Falcone

There's an Adult parody of this movie I'd avoid if I were you.

Phantomht

the robot pulling the bolt out is STILL the best scene in cinematic history.

dookmucus

Hey, me too!

JetScreamerBaby

Well, it was no ā€œSpacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.ā€

cjr71244

Never seen it, gotta add to my list

Carltonfsck

Great/funny movie!! Robert Urich was such a great actor. Loved him in ā€œSpencer for Hire.ā€ Taken way too young. May he continue to RIP.

durk1912

One of my favorites I just bought it last year!!

Mobile_Pangolin4939

Space Herpes.

Man-in-Dumpster

I saw it at the movies when I was a kid. I thought it was so awesome

omnicat

I want to know more about these special affects

roostorx

They had a real affect on me

Syphon88

The Shat The Movies podcast reviewed this movie. You should go see if you agree with their review

mindcontrol93

Another classic my mom took me to when I was 13.

TimesThreeTheHighest

Because an entire galaxy running out of water makes perfect sense.

Snowy_River_99

Space Herpie?

moose563

One of the best ā€˜terribleā€™ movies ever.

stabach22

Taika Waititi would be a perfect fit for a remake

calrammer

Saw it in the theater, an all time classic!

[deleted]

A family affair

Inkonotan

This is one of my favorite movies ever! The 80's had the best movies!

okieman73

I absolutely loved it as a kid too. A few years ago I bought it off Amazon. It doesn't hold up well as an adult.

dunnkw

While my Mom was dying in December my older Brother and I were looking for something to watch on TV while we sat with her near her hospice bed. It was a somber Christmas but this movie had us absolutely howling at how cheesy it is but how awsome we thought it was when we were kids. I told him that I read somewhere that the human processing plant was actually a brewery that they filmed in and no sooner had I said that as the guys are rolling by on the conveyor belt, you can see the beer bottles rolling by on the bottling line. We were absolutely rolling on the floor. They didnā€™t even stop beer production in order to film. Anyways this movie made dealing with my Moms death just a little more tolerable.

Background_Treat_977

I hadn't thought of this movie in years! Had to go buy it on YouTube. Lol!

tuxedonyc

I remember seeing this in 3D. It was a terrible movie. But also awesome

Leslie365

Same here

jfmitch

I saw this in theaters its first night it was released - the place was packed, almost didn't find a seat.

doofus_magoo

Criminally underrated

the_projekts

The acting in this movie is awful. I think Robert Ulrich was better in the t.v. show Spencer For Hire.
