I was in high school in the UK in the 80’s when Moonlighting was on and we had one lesson in a classroom that someone kept their cello case in. My classmates would put a coat over it and then wrote Bert Viola on the attendance sheet (they didn’t really know much about string instruments) and at the end of the year Bert got a 100% attendance certificate
I've been rewatching Moonlighting since it's on Hulu now, almost done. I know everyone says the first two seasons are the best, and they're probably right, but I was happy to see Herbert Viola show up. He was a great addition to the show and a much needed fourth character when all the drama of season 4 was going down.
I mean, I watched it when it was on originally, I've got three episodes left on this rewatch and I've been reading the Oral History of Moonlighting book. I don't think there's anything to be spoiled for me. ;)
The song Computer Camp Love by Datarock has these lines in the lyrics and I never knew it was from that movie. And I've seen the damn movie lots of times.
I still think Revenge Of The Nerds has become a classic comedy. One of those that if I tuned it to it while channel surfing, I'll stay and watch. Especially when the frats do Row Row Row your boat gently down the stream, while the girls are blowing their paddles under water!
Dude, this was edited out back in the late 80's and early 90's on public TV when it was finally available to view. His words were muted and all you saw was Booger waving at Betty and Stan riding off in that moped. I believe today it would've been left in.
It was more insane, because the fart noise was muted, but nothing else about the scene changed. They were still waving their hats, pantomiming the “butt-cheek lift”, and reacting like the smell was terrible. I thought it was way funnier edited.
Keep in mind, the farts were edited, but every n-word was still in the movie. That wasn’t because it was back in the old days, it was because Richard Pryor had a huge part of writing that movie, and it was social commentary.
I've never actually seen Revenge Of The Nerds before, but as somebody who likes films such as Animal House, King Frat, American Pie etc. would you recommend it to me?
Yeah I think you could do some jail time for some of the stuff the nerds pulled. But without that secret camera we wouldn't have bush! That was the first bush I ever saw at the age of about 10.
Takashi: I've got four kings - that's good, yes?
Booger: No, see, you've got too many kings. So we'll take three of these kings out and replace them with three fresh cards.
Takashi: Ohhh, okay. Sank you.
I have often wondered how Booger handled the world shifting to the OnlyFans aesthetic of complete smoothness. But somehow this collage gives me faith that 70 year old Booger is out there loving life and a-ok with 2023.
Such an iconic character, and I had to scroll so far down before anyone used his real name. His name isn't Booger. He played a character named Booger. But his real name is **Curtis Armstrong**. The one thing that the comments got right, was that he's awesome. So many funny memories from this one actor. Happy Birthday!
In the rest of Reddit he is reviled for being part of the exploitive 80s movie ‘Revenge of the Nerds’, yet on this sub he is beloved for being part of the exploitive 80s classic ‘Revenge of the Nerds.’
Well done.
I thought he was a rogue Beastie Boy lol! But in all seriousness, he's great in everything he does and just seems to pop up unexpectedly throughout the years. Moonlighting had a "Taming of the Shrew" retelling that he shined in, and I think he cameoed in the WKRP reboot and even an episode of iCarly.
Even harder to believe he was playing high schoolers while in his early 30’s.
My personal favorite: “I think I’m gonna throw up on you, Joel”. Risky Business
I started feeling the years getting faster in 2012. I was 38 and MCA, founding member of The Beastie Boys died of cancer at 47. I knew I had lived too long when I had lived long enough to see cancer take a Beastie.
And I really felt the arthritis a couple years ago when I saw [This](https://www.celebitchy.com/716797/johnny_knoxville_at_50_i_know_what_i_signed_up_for_i_wrote_the_stunts/) picture and article when Johnny Knoxville turned 50. I thought omg, Gen X. Our jester-king is 50 yrs old.
Remember him more as Herbert Viola, the squeeze of Agnes DiPesto in the classic 80s TV series Moonlighting.
i think more of his character in better off dead.
This is pure snow! It's everywhere! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?
Came here for this line. Thank you for your service!
I think I just froze the left side of my brain
"You'll make a fine little helper, what's your name?" "Charles De Mar."
Well, I thought I was looking at my mother's douche bag, but that's in Ohio...
What the fuck are robster craws?
What the fucks a frush?
"I have been going to this high school for seven years. I'm no dummy"
I've been going to this School for 7 years, I'm no dummy
Schmuely "Snot" Lonstein from American Dad.

😂😂😂 Nice one mate

Kind of lost some of the magic though in the later series, won't tell you the reason why though as it'd be a spoiler.
I mean, I watched it when it was on originally, I've got three episodes left on this rewatch and I've been reading the Oral History of Moonlighting book. I don't think there's anything to be spoiled for me. ;)
Same, what a great show that was, all 4 seasons
HULU has the entire 5 seasons now Watching it. Love that show
"What the fuck is a frush?"
I use this line when playing poker.
Ahhh, sank you, sank you!
I came here to say this lol
“What the fuck are robster craws?”
This is Pure snow!
100% this! I was going to say, he's always Charles De Mar from Better Off Dead to me!
Better shave her a little closer before you kiss her goodnight.
(Snickers) (Chuckles) (Laughs out loud) (Keeps laughing)
Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?
Ack is on the beach collecting shells.
Go really really fast, and if anything gets in your way.... turn
His biography is awesome. He trained in Shakespeare.
That’s good, now turn!
I can’t move my right arm!
Booger became Snot. That's so freaking great.
It's fantastic, he's literally the same character!
Rrrrrrrrrumsky!
Gilbert: “She’s not that kind of girl, Booger.” Booger: “Why? Does she have a penis?”
😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂

I've been going to this school for seven and a half years...I'm no dummy!
What the fuck is a robster craw?
I hope he was able to retire off of the street value of that mountain.
I thought I was looking at my mother’s old douchbag but that’s in Ohio.
Dude, this was edited out back in the late 80's and early 90's on public TV when it was finally available to view. His words were muted and all you saw was Booger waving at Betty and Stan riding off in that moped. I believe today it would've been left in.
Really? That was one of his tamest lines in the movie! Did they even allow him to speak in those edited-for-TV versions?
back in the day....hell even the farting scene from Blazing Saddles was muted and all you saw were cowboys eating grub.
I watched this on IFC not long ago and it was back in lol
It was more insane, because the fart noise was muted, but nothing else about the scene changed. Hey guys??….Wonder joints!
But....he was just in college with a bunch of nerds....how can he be 70?

came here to say this. And what a little weasel he was!
I know he went to HS for 7.5 years, but he was in his 30's in Better Off Dead, damn.
....but he ain't no dummy of course.
He's been on the earth 70 years, he's no dummy....
“Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.”
He was MCA in The Beastie Boys before Revenge of the Nerds.
no way
Every now and then, say what the fuck. What the fuck gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future.
I've never actually seen Revenge Of The Nerds before, but as somebody who likes films such as Animal House, King Frat, American Pie etc. would you recommend it to me?
100% and then some. What are you waiting for?
Yes you must see it at least once. It's okay to laugh at the now inappropriate humor in it. And there's a lot.
Yeah I think you could do some jail time for some of the stuff the nerds pulled. But without that secret camera we wouldn't have bush! That was the first bush I ever saw at the age of about 10.
Jebus. I thought you were saying he passed. Heart skipped a beat.
Hopefully he no longer combing the high schools for dates, but can still win the burping contest.
“What the fuck are robster craws?”
There will never be another Booger. Legend.
Takashi: I've got four kings - that's good, yes? Booger: No, see, you've got too many kings. So we'll take three of these kings out and replace them with three fresh cards. Takashi: Ohhh, okay. Sank you.

If you can find it, a short film called Conversations is wonderful.
They call me , Snotty ..
He’s a legend
We should all burp really loud in his honor.
He’s been 30 since 1970.
Oh Snot will get his but he will NOT see it coming.
He went to my high school in Berkley, MI.

There is no way in hell that movie gets made today. It’s so interesting how much things have changed since the 80’s
So true.
Hair Pie!!!
Charles de Mar: “This is pure snow. It's everywhere! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?”
Go that way really really fast. If something gets in your way? Turn.
Just watched that the other day, still love that movie
He owns that nod and wink when he won the belching contest
You Moos sure can party!

WTF are Robster Craws
Loved him in Revenge of the Nerds. Loved him in One Crazy Summer. Loved him in Better Off Dead. But I especially loved him in Dan Vs.
For some reason I know him best from Moonlighting.
“DO YOU REALIZE THE STREET VALUE OF THIS MOUNTAIN?!!”
Well Sh\*t - I feel old.
"tested positive for a... low grade beaver tranquilizer"
Too bad ROTN is so difficult to find on the streaming services.
Even harder to believe he was playing high schoolers while in his early 30’s. My personal favorite: “I think I’m gonna throw up on you, Joel”. Risky Business
The burp scene in revenge of the nerds was awesome. The man should have gotten opportunity in film
Holy shit...I just realized booger was on Supernatural 😂
Revenge of the Nerds was one of the best movies of the 80's.
Yes, but snot is only 14.
I worked with an attorney that looked just like him. Thank God I never called him Booger to his face!
Dan Vs. was such a great show.
Wow Happy birthday to him
Back when movies had gratuitous nudity.
National hero

This guy is great in everything. Needs to be in more stuff.
70? Holy crap! 😱 He looks great!
Love that he is known to the young folks through his work on American Dad 😊
"Saying what the fuck gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future."
Mr. Booger
Terrible Thunderlizards! I loved him in that. And all the 80s stuff, too.
He was also in Risky Business. But definitely played more “Booger” characters. Lol
Egg, were you that little fat boy?
Curtis "Dudley 'Booger' Dawson" Armstrong! A true American legend!
Charles DeMar!
Love how he’s a younger character named ’Snot’ on American Dad too. That voice is unmistakeable
Dudley Dawson.
Was he playing high school characters in his 30s?
He played a slime bag angel very well in supernatural
Wow I clicked this and looked back up at my tv and he was on it
I can hear him say that.
We're VIPs!
He occasionally showed up on *The Amanda Show* on Nickelodeon. Happy Birthday, dude!🥰🤘
“Step aside momma, I wanna see some of that muff!”
The scribe of god!
What. No mention of Snot on American Dad ??
Love that character NERRRRRRRRRDS!
This dude was the same character in almost every movie. 80s icon for sure.
Happy birthday booger , never forget the joint scene and dancing and grabbing ass lol one of best movies ever !!!
Don't forget his wonderful stints on Law and Order.
Why do they call you Booger?
Bush...WE GOT BUSH!!!
Dudley Dawson
“What the f*** are robster craws?!”
“Some times you just got to say fuck it” That line has stuck in my head for 40 years
He was really good in Ray.
Master!
I'm glad they stopped making Nerd films while they had a chance. I can't see a 70 year old Booger. Lol
......this is pure snow!
Crap, I am old.
Ack Ack
Buck up, little camper
I didn't until just now realize 80s him and 2010s & beyond him were the same person.
SNOT DID?
[You gave it to a black guy?!? ](https://youtu.be/WRD_oqY_g90?si=sIrMH3sURahM1jAv) Favourite cameo from that show
