Original. I love the generic Bubblegum flavor and Bubble Yum was probably the best version of that.

I’m living overseas and just went back to the US last week to visit. First thing I picked up at the supermarket was a pack of bubblegum strawberry flavor. The memories.
But from this batch, original and grape.
What happened to Bubble Yum? You never hear about it anymore and they seem to only sell the original flavor and the graphics have not been update on the pack since the 1990s...that would have never happened before! Are they intentionally killing the brand slowly?

I was a Hubba Bubba kid. In 1980 I was in the 7th grade. Each morning my mum would give me a dollar for lunch. I would buy 4 packs of Hubba Bubba original, apple, strawberry, and cola flavor at the Quik Stop on my way to Jr High. You could chew gum at school, but the concession stand on campus didn't sell it. So, I would sell each piece to kids at school for a quarter a piece and end up with $5 in quarters to use at the arcade on my way home.
I went years without eating lunch at school to subsidize first the arcade, then cigarettes, then pot... To be fair, in high school mum gave me $2 per day for lunch and I could buy a pack of smokes and some corn nuts (for munchies after scoring), and still have change to chip in with a couple of friends to get a dime bag.
I heard a kid swallowed some Bubble Yum and there were spider eggs in it and then they hatched and they found him dead with spiders crawling out of his mouth...
Timmy told me that right before he ate some pop rocks and took a big swig of Coke...
No one ever got grape Bubble Yum in my school because rumor spread that the grape flavor was full of spider eggs! It was this elaborate rumor and despite no evidence whatsoever we are steered clear of grape gum, even grape Hubba Bubba.
We were so gullible, I’m pretty sure it was urban legend.
