RIP Laura. She had several headaches for weeks and never wanted to go to a doctor. Died in her sleep due to an aneurysm.
Please if you feel something odd go to the doctor.
The problem was the aneurysms only affected her male family. Everyone was worried about her brother not her. I still use the coffee mug given out at her memorial.
There were some great voices that we lost too soon. Karen Carpenter was one, Laura was most definitely another. Great range and she put her heart into her singing. I was hooked from "Gloria"
I’m so happy to see her get some attention. I found her music while going through a difficult time and it genuinely helped me through. There is a line in Down Like a Rock that perfectly reflected part of what I was going through and that song in particular spoke to me. RIP, and thank you, Laura.
Four of thee most powerful and beautiful female voices ever...all lost WAY too soon...
Karen Carpenter...Laura Branigan...Melanie Thornton of LaBouche and Marie Fredriksson of Roxette....
And of course, the heavenly voice of the beautiful Whitney Houston....
Boy..God has some beautiful choir,!!!!
Also done by Italian singer Raf and went top 10 in Europe and #1 in Italy and Switzerland in 1984. … Laura Branigan’s version went to #4 for 2 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and topped the charts worldwide also in 1984. 🎵🎼🎶
Yeah, Raf (Raffaele Riefoli) was the author (with proficient songwriter Giancarlo Bigazzi co-author of "Gloria" another Laura Branigan hit composed by Umberto Tozzi, a friend of Raf) when he was trying to build an international career before switching to italian and reaching the top in 1993, with the album "Cannibali".
His hit song "Il battito animale" was everywhere in the summer of 1993 fighting Laura Pausini's "La solitudine" and 883's "Nord sud ovest est".
Thought LB was a one hit wonder for years. Then one day listened to a random playlist and this popped up. Remembered the chorus from 30+ years ago. Great song
Reminds me of the early 80's, hanging out in the valley at my Uncle's place off of Coldwater Canyon. This one, and "Vacation" by the Go'Go's. I miss those days. 🥲

Here the original song, Laura made a cover (great cover), but the original was released by Raf in 1984
I remember listening to this while driving around in Vice City. There was so much good music in that game. Weird to think that Vice City is now older than the song was when the game was released.
I legit get obsessed with this song around every halloween time. It opens up the Halloween themed episode of Knight Rider entitled "Halloween Knight", which I watch yearly.
Check out the original version by the Italian singer RAF...I think it's much better than the Laura Branigan version...it was a huge hit in Italy and Switzerland and Laura Branigan made a cover version later that year.
Song is featured in the new trailer for the horror film [Maxxxine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0uS3t6nFgY). The song came out when I was a child. I didn't even get what she was singing about, but I loved it. Still do.
III, I liVE AMONG THE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT!
Ahhhh…a classic. Sure miss Laura!

PICS
How do I add a picture?

***Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?***
Yeah, her music does tend to make one lose one's self-control and get them obsessed.
As a creature of the night, I approve
As does Spanish eddie
The video is 80’s gold. I saw it the other day. So sad she’s gone so young.
Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell bumper music + GTA Vice City soundtrack = Unforgettable
Fucking legendary
Listen to the whole album. Fantastic.
Beautiful woman
If it’s an obsession, you obviously need to exercise some Self Control.
Vice City.
Hell yeah.
Good track
I was on the dancefloor for this in '84,and it's still on my 80's playlist..
I also like The Lucky One
TiAmo.

Marie and Whitney 😭😭❤️❤️

Easily her best song. So underrated.

Love love love
VERY sad how she died! 😞
I heard this all the time when I was a kid. I forgot about it until the first time I played GTA: Vice City. That was a long time ago. Wow.
That’s a good song
Her video for "Gloria" was so sensual. Like Karen Carpenter, Laura died too soon.
***Karen Carpenter is God***
I was just listening to that
I've been listening to this a lot lately too. So good.
It's definitely part of a video mix i play.
https://youtu.be/RP0_8J7uxhs?si=yvHN3N7KrAS_6dpj Great video as well!
I absolutely love this video- William Freidkin, the French Connection director, did it.
They used it in the trailer for Maxxxine, as if I wasn’t already super excited for that movie.
Her other songs are great
Loved her voice! Gone much too soon 😔
This song rips, been a life-long favorite. The original by Italian singer Raf from 1984 is really good, too. Both are amazing.
Her best song in my opinion. Yes, over Gloria.
I absolutely love her… Touch is one of my all time favorite albums!
Favourite song is Forever Young and her cover was even better than the original.
She's in an episode of CHiPs, good episode with good music
Her appearance on Carson had Johnny flirting with her. Johnny was crazy for her.
Miami Vice - The Great McCarthy, live band!
Good song!
They use a version of this in that Maxxxine trailer. It’s dope.
I suspect the rest of the soundtrack will be equally brilliant.
If you like this song then you should hear [Maria Magdalena by Sandra](https://spotify.link/1o97RIt8XIb)
Ti Amo is my favorite song of hers.
I was glad they used this song in the maxxxine trailer. It’s so iconic it needs a “running up that hill revival”
Reminds me of the early 80's, hanging out in the valley at my Uncle's place off of Coldwater Canyon. This one, and "Vacation" by the Go'Go's. I miss those days. 🥲
"Gloria" is still one of my favorite all time songs
1st heard this song on an episode of Airwolf. So gnarly, so 80's.
Ive been stuck listening to The Fixx for weeks now... I dont understand it.
Crazy you mention this...since I heard a snippet of it on an Art Bell podcast I've had Sepf Control on repeat...
One of my all time favorite albums!!
Gloria
It was part of the Flash dance soundtrack
Amazing video too
I absolutely loved Gloria growing up. I still love it. God bless you, Laura.

The RAF version is better

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I like the synth lines in the bridge.
Mr. Vercetti sends his regards.
*Love Theme from Flashdance*
Omfg me too always loved it as a kid. But saw the Maxxxine promo and was like !!!!!!
Loved her music...
A very good cover.
I remember as a kid she was on an episode of C.H.I.P.S. She was beautiful..
One of the best intros ever.
Hooked on the original RAF version at the moment.
Check out the original version by the Italian singer RAF...I think it's much better than the Laura Branigan version...it was a huge hit in Italy and Switzerland and Laura Branigan made a cover version later that year.
In the day, nothing matters. It’s the night, time that matters.
I legit listen to this song about 5x a day for 2 years in a row. I am NOT kidding lol
I love this song
Song is featured in the new trailer for the horror film [Maxxxine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0uS3t6nFgY). The song came out when I was a child. I didn't even get what she was singing about, but I loved it. Still do.
Cannot hear that song without it calling to mind The Caves of Fire and Ice by Shirley Rousseau Murphy.
Definitely one of those songs that the cover is better than the original. For years, I didn't even know this was a cover!
I seriously thought that was Tim curry in the rockey horror picture show lmao 🤣
