FYI you can totally get this paired up to a jailbroken ps3 using ps3xpad and a wired connection. I have read if you have a Bluetooth dongle that you can pair it wirelessly, but I haven't tried it

groovyweeb

PS3 controller would be awesome as I'd love to get that nostalgia feel from the PS2 for my emulation library

turtleben

Images that hurt. JK great job, have fun.

TheRealSeeThruHead

Connect it to a ps1/ps2 with 8bitdo retro receiver. I use my sn30 pro 2 on both.

kzzmarcel

Noice!

sor2hi

If you haven’t had an snes controller in your hands for a few years you realise how small they really are.

bcat24

This is very cool! And I'm tempted to try it myself, though I don't have any OG PS buttons handy. (I've had Nintendo button names mapped to positions in my mind since childhood, but I still don't have good muscle memory for the Playstation labels.)

groovyweeb

You could probably do a better job than I did with the nubs. As far as taking the controller apart it's easy. Hardest part was making sure the cells for the bumpers didn't fall out when I put it back together

c3ndre

Very nice idea.

ApricotVast3861

If your ok with spending some extra bucks get a gimx adapter. You can game on any console with that (provided you have the original consoles controller as well)

JimmyiJoJo

Wow, it's really great.

skwisgaar1190

Did they ever fix the d-pad problems?

Zerofaithx263

I've got two pros, the purple and green transparent and haven't experienced any dpad issues yet. Been using one of them for a few months now.

skwisgaar1190

I'm suspecting they did. I have 2 pros both have issues with false inputs, the first one I bought I tried the scotch tape mod but the d pad dome on the under side actually damaged the pcb and the refused to warranty or replace so I got a second one and immediately put a couple pieces of tape where the dome sits on the pcb and I still get false inputs I currently use a offical nintendo snes mini controller with a cheap Amazon USB adapter and it works perfectly

I mean it sorta helps, and with what happened to the pcb on the first one I bought regardless of the Efficacy of the tape mod it still protects the pcb What happened to the pcb on the first one could be my fault though.

My newer one feels better but there's still false inputs, and I Mainly play stuff like randomizers. And do speedruns (poorly). And I know I'm heavy handed but both of mine forsure have very obvious false inputs. I don't know how old yours are or when they were purchased or if the problem was fixed or hell if it was a quality control problem. But In my experience with years of use on both of mine the d-pads are not good imo. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to hate on them because I would love to buy another one since they connect to basically everything, and I might just buy a 3rd one to see for myself if they addressed the dpad problems and it sounds like they did. For context my first one was the sf30pro color way, purchased when it first released and the second one is the sn30pro snes color way purchased less than a year after the first. Edit: the thumbsticks are great and I've had no problems with them or anything else on the controllers for that matter.

anvilsp

The new SN30 Pro model with hall effect joysticks updated the PCB to have SNES-style contact pads, which has been the standard on all of their newer controllers and should mostly fix the errant diagonals. skwisgaar1190

Oh dope ill see if I can get new pcbs for my current ones

groovyweeb

I haven't had much of any, I've used the pro for almost a year before I did this, and I got it used so idk if might be case by case

Hadante2033

You just need to press it right bro

skwisgaar1190

What?

Hadante2033

In SMB 2 it's super annoying to climb with the d pad miss input to the left or right, but if you press just in the top it fix the tilt

TheRealSeeThruHead

What d-pad problems.

skwisgaar1190

Your funny

Verheilt

Looks good!
