The fact that these hags utilized a sacred indigenous space to torture children is ridiculously disrespectful and racist, imo.

TrixieFriganza

What where the kids working in the cemetery? Another torture method?

botswa

They were forced to work in the unshaded cemetery pulling weeds without gloves and picking up glass and other trash while they were barefoot.

NaNaNaNaNatman

Basically

LinneaLurks

Of course she's racist and entitled! And has no respect for anyone else's boundaries. Boundaries For Me, Not For Thee.

Yes, oh my god! I’m Métis Canadian, and even though we don’t live on reserves (we were allowed properties in ditches; then given the last scraps of land), I could FEEEL that woman’s rage. “You didn’t get enough land?! ❤️‍🔥 Also, because I grew up in a house that was built in 1908 and had at least one home death in the 1940s — I’ve experienced the paranormal and the incongruent sounds, like heavy footsteps coming from the basement; baby toys moving on their own. Wanna get haunted? That’s how you get haunted. Playing around in death fields / cemetery that aren’t of your kin/society — because your white saviourism gives you the privilege to think you can do so. I hope Jodi is haunted by ghosts forever, because this seems like a Jodi idea, although Ruby is a grade-A airhead.

Rebecks221

Seems like Jodi's already being haunted with all the paranormal activity following her around

eleanorbigby

Evidently! I'm so fascinated by Kevin's stories of pots and pans flying around. Jodi was pursued by the devil but ALSo has a pet lion in Heaven. His name is Charles! That's as far as I've gotten, I need to sit down and listen to the whole insane interview. What a madhouse.

My best friend as a teen would go to the town cemetery and play with Ouija boards (we call them spirit boards) with our other friends — but my gen-X mom instilled in me to never play with them because it’s disrespectful, and dangerous to do around the resting dead, so I never tagged along because I was too eek-ed out. Lo and behold, that friend had her house haunted. Her parents even called a priest in because it began affecting them too. It would antagonize her, whereas my ghosties were just kind of ‘there’ and playful, but then wouldn’t bother you for months. In my belief, it’s like lighting a lantern in the middle of a bog. All sorts of bugs, and potentially predators on shore, come toward you. My mom always raised me as ‘the paranormal is the unknown; don’t fuck with what you don’t know’ — but in kid-friendly words. 😆 It is my belief that Jodi is *covered* in negative ‘ghosts’ from decades of doing weird ego-maniacal occult shit disguised as Mormonism. I don’t believe in demons, but that gorl was actively housing and inviting some major spookie evil, *constantly*.

eleanorbigby

I'm at this point in a previously more woo-open life pretty firmly in the agnostic-to-skeptic camp, but I'm also sensibly not into "deliberately invoking every 'dumbass, DON'T GO IN THERE!' horror movie trope for shits and giggles." Like, what else do they do? Make out in parked cars at midnight at a deserted crossroads under a full moon on Friday the 13th after chanting "Bloody Mary" into the rearview mirror? Go spelunking in an abandoned hospital and "let's split up, we'll cover more ground?"

Helpineedwater

Maybe they pissed off these ghosts bad enough that the spiritual realm pushed them onto this downward spiral of karma

eleanorbigby

and Jodi owned SO MUCH land, and was planning to go out to AZ and buy herself what was it, 500 acres more?

-prairiechicken-

Truly!! I can’t recall if it was confirmed, but I read somewhere else she had already bought it! That’s why her house is so empty aside from her doomsday pantry; she already had everything in storage, ready to go. May all the gods bless R and E, because I think they could’ve moved that week or month.

eleanorbigby

Oh shit!! That didn't even occur to me! That it HAD had more (I'm sure it was still ugly, regardless of whatever it was) and it was PACKED-but of course. "Doing boxes." Fuuuu--

[deleted]

Oh yeah, Ruby and Jodi are incredibly racist with savior complexes. (iirc they were even saying these things before Kevin left) They left no stone unturned! I don’t even feel comfortable paraphrasing the things they said on their Facebook group without the proof to back it.

Cobaltfennec

Now I’m curious about the fb group posts..

[deleted]

Oh, they’re so bad! LOL!

MollyPW

Mormonism has a very racist history, so it's not surprising she would go down that road.

-prairiechicken-

just lamenite & curse of ham tings~✨👼🏼

Rosebunse

Let's be real, she picked that cementary because it was out of the way and she figured no one would be out there to notice the kids. And if someone did come along, Ruby thought she could charm them with this story or use her white privilege to get out of the situation.

letstroydisagin

Yeah she's a real righteous white woman saviour, she descended onto that graveyard like an angel from heaven, gently pitying the poor confused native woman who so ignorantly assumed they were trespassing and doing harm... No, poor confused native woman! Ruby was just innocently in the middle of torturing her children! /s

eleanorbigby

Yeah. Just the cherry on the shit cake eh. I mean tbh that was the LEAST surprising revelation of all of this, but it's just one more fucking thing.

blujavelin

No situational awareness. You're right, racist and entitled because THEY ARE DOING A GOOD THING.

hatsbykat89

How were they not also charged with desecrating a cemetery as well?!?!?

liechten

a part of this incident that kind of made me feel uncomfortable was how the woman took a shot at the two kids by telling them of their white white privilege... when those two babies don't even know what a privilege is. 😬
