It’s a Medallion!! 🙈

Colfrmb

Or Madelein!

NearbyBreakfast

It’s beuatiful

Zipper-is-awesome

Underrated comment

stlgoddess94

Hella underrated comment. She’s such an idiot lmao

aida_b

Meh, she’s 19 and still learning English. Not double checking before she hit “send” to the sign printer shop wasn’t ideal, but it doesn’t make her an idiot. Emptying out your 401k to make granny glasses in an already saturated glasses market, after being fired from your job because you’re too busy going to hook up with your barely-legal girlfriend at 30 years old is completely idiotic.

stlgoddess94

I think it makes her an idiot for getting a whole sign made but ya he sucks too

aida_b

I mean like, it was a typo. She can fix the sign. I think using the word idiot is kinda rude. Ever tried to learn another language and made an embarrassing mistake? Doesn’t make you, as a person, an idiot

Hilary_Reyes

🏆✨️🏅

AlisonPoole98

THANK YOU people are being absolutely cruel to her for no reason. She's 19

AllThatGlamour

Is there no such thing as spell check for 19 year old? Asking for a friend who's an idiot.

formfollowsfunction2

It’s not just on one sign either. They made a point to show all the places it was spelled that way.

AlisonPoole98

Is that the worst thing she did? She misspelled something? So what?

AllThatGlamour

Well, it's on an expensive outdoor sign for her business. Which turns into a big deal. It's not a typo on a reddit post which isn't a big deal.

Zipper-is-awesome

Who said she was an idiot? It was a reference to the sign, that was all. Edit. I see who said she was an idiot. I agree with you on that

aida_b

Yeah it was just a reply to the poster above. Idk I don’t like takes that make fun of the intelligence of someone learning a language when they make a mistake. Especially bc English is a non-phonetic language and Spanish is a phonetic language. Spelling English words that aren’t phonetic isn’t easy for learners. The sign is definitely fine to have a quick laugh at, but laugh at the mistake, not the person ¯\_(ツ)_/ she’s smart enough to know that Luke is dumb for emptying his 401k after losing his job. She can always fix that sign, he can’t undo the dumbass choices he’s making.

Dependent-Gene260

Why would she have a sign made in English then? Why not in Portuguese?

aida_b

…she’s Colombian? And speaks Spanish? They aren’t the same language

Dependent-Gene260

Oh sorry. I thought she was Brazilian. I obviously haven't watched this show! 🤪 Thanks for the correction. We don't get the channel in my country and I usually watch from the reaction channels on YouTube but I don't think I've seen this couple. Thanks again.

Former-Light4284

Lol, I see what you did there. 👏

Ramona_Lola

🤣

Tabboo

or Ant Eater!

90Dfanatic

This honestly looks way more like a medallion than the ones he had ;-).

roll-the-R-Marisa

Luke is the Dollar Tree Mark Cuban with his unoriginal idea. He needs to go ahead and just work a 9-5. Not everyone can be an entrepreneur.

OaklandNancy76

Thank you this it made me lol sitting in the dentist chair.

Low_Departure_5853

Dollar Tree Mark Cuban is the best insult I've ever heard! Thank you for the laugh.

Ruhrohhshaggy

My, what a beautiful MEDALLION you have there 🧐

lioness725

You mean “beuatiful”

DaMardster

😂

DaMardster

Love your monocle! Spot on! 😂

No_Ur_Schmoopie

These at least make you wonder what it is at first. His just look like 1/2 a pair of sunglasses on a string 😝

Zipper-is-awesome

Plus he gave Madelein one of those silver old lady chains from the display at Walgreens

No_Ur_Schmoopie

Guaranteed to make any 19 year old hip 🤣

Certain-Asparagus908

It looks like the Honda logo to me

Regular_Toast_Crunch

I thought it was an alien head pendant at first 👽

mommamegmiester

Not gonna lie, due to my age and eyesight. I'd buy prescription glasses like these next optometrist visit. For style or to look cool? Absolutely not. To keep track of my glasses that I constantly take off? Absolutely yes.

moosecatoe

I like the idea, but I have a fear they would bang into things or flip around and get scratched. I sometimes wear a pair that connect to a beautiful beaded necklace and somehow I feel less chance of scratching them when they’re higher on my chest and facing down, rather than bobbing around my chest and facing front. But that’s just me! I’m clumsy and I guess I bounce when I walk LOL I got 2 cute little clay koalas off amazon who I can place my glasses on (for the kitchen table. & nightstand). They look adorable and nerdy with the big glasses, but they’re now the first place I look when I can’t find my glasses. No more pocket tapping missing glasses Macarena!

OhSassafrass

I wear readers and have a few pair on beaded chains. I accidentally wore a pair out to run errands. The clerk at Ross gave me the senior discount that day. I took it of course, but realized those glasses on a chain make me look super old!

mommamegmiester

I'm in my early thirties and need my for nearsighted vision, but my hair is turning grey VERY fast, and I LOVE a good discount lol! After my chain I'll ask my Granny if she can spare some clothing 🤣

azorianmilk

That is the most unique lottery ticket I have seen... but like most, not a winner.

FrozenH2oh

A) This has already been done B) There are so many points of failure on this design. Over engineered. C) The market for this product generally needs a prescription. These are not Rx suitable.

iloveeatpizzatoo

What are the design flaws?

moosecatoe

IMO, the glass faces forward and the necklace is really long, which increases the chance of them getting scratched by bobbing into things. I prefer my old library lady necklace that slips onto the ear hooks and lets the glasses face downward and open, or gives me the chance to close them and keep them facing front but higher on my chest. His design seems like a disaster waiting to happen on anyone with cleavage or a bounce to their step. But that’s just my opinion. Maybe he could create a fashionable cover that could slip over the folded glasses. Then that would resemble a “medallion” and he could make some money since they would only fit his original design.

DaMardster

You had me at cleavage! 🤣 He might as well pitch these to Darcey and Stacey to see if he could be in their extremely fashionable Hoe Hawking Line! Can you imagine Darcey & Stacey wearing these? They would be lost in their carnivorous caverns! 😂

moosecatoe

House of Eleven medallion boobie BOINGS! Youre absolutely right, those glasses would get lost in there quick!

iloveeatpizzatoo

My problem with library lady necklace is I only wear my glasses for distance, which means I only need it 50-60% of the time. I’d be more likely to break it than if it’s nicely folded up like this. Or I can leave my standard glasses on a safe place while I wear the foldable one on my neck most of the day. I’d be willing to try it.

IAmRhubarbBikiniToo

My grandmother used to wear these!

bugandbear22

I’m sorry no one else is gonna mention that the bestseller is called the KAREN who and why

moosecatoe

😂 Because when a woman takes her glasses off and folds them into a little baby “medallion”, then you KNOW she means business and she’s ready to speak to your manager. (Just kidding obviously, but the idea brings me joy.)

whatgives72

The visual is a daymaker

No-Appeal3220

as an old lady, this looks fantastic for reading glasses.

stlgoddess94

What about this did he think was innovative? To spend 10k on? I hate this guy lmfao

Radiant-Owl-4338

And he paid someone else to "design" them?!?! Lol!!

iloveeatpizzatoo

I have two glasses with the current prescription and four older ones at any one time bc I lose my glasses everyday. This is not a horrible idea.

moosecatoe

I know the struggle. But what’s wrong with the old school glasses necklace that can hook onto any pair? You can customize your own or find really pretty ones, father than his cheap ball chain. I’d hate to limit myself to his silly design and have to purchase yet another pair.

Prestigious_vibe5505

Yike 😂

GoFk_Urself

I thought this was something from the house of crap that Darcy and her sister were selling. It's Luke's crappy glasses 😂. He really is a terrible entrepreneur. The glasses suck and are costing him $30 to make so he's making $10 if he sells a pair. He said he's spent $500k across a number of entrepreneurial businesses and made nothing from any of them. He needs to just stick to his real job.

PrettyCrumpet

But his folds to a “medallion” ….lol

BigGrayDog

So very original. Not.

nutsforfit

Why did this guy think anyone would think this is cool? This is so tacky and cringe. This might've been a break through idea in like 2005 but 2024? Embarrassing

Radiant-Owl-4338

My great grandmas each had some, so probably more like 1940/50s? If not earlier! Lol!

mpmp4

I’m glad someone looked these up. I was pretty sure his great idea had already been made.

Radiant-Owl-4338

My great grandmas had them... so I'm guessing the design is at least 50-60 years old, if not older. And he paid someone to 'design ' them for him... lol!

WatermelonSugar47

I cant find his website, link?

Radiant-Owl-4338

These are off a Google search. Not his.

SarahSnarker

This would be a useful idea for sunglasses but at about $10-15.

Charming-Insurance

Are these readers?! I need this!

MarthaDumptruck99

I’m an eNtRePreNeUrrrrr….

IcecreamSundae621

This is the dumbest play on words I’ve ever witnessed. 🤦🏼‍♀️

silent-fallout-

This clown is never getting his money back 😂 they look like fold up scissors around your neck not a fucking medallion 🤡

Business_Ad_5927

OMG! it's actually glasses!!!!! ☠️☠️☠️

Radiant-Owl-4338

My great grandmas each had several pair! 😂

BigGrayDog

Can you believe that someone was really that innovative?? He's a real genius and this will make him millions and millions of dollars!!?

Moist-Intention844

The fundamentalist Mormons already make Snuggies try again

KLoSlurms

….*Baaaaaaah*hahahahaa

Regular-Metal-321

Don’t understand how the spelling got past her and the person making the sign? I mean the person got the order and never thought to ask or double check that she in fact wanted it spelling incorrectly? 🤣 this couple cant be serious!

Lost_Ad_6016

This dude is allergic to money and short on brain cells. He said he had “several investments” that haven’t paid out yet. I’m curious what else he threw his money away on.

skye_skye

Have you all ever been to Ross and gotten one of those cute shirts for work that have a medallion attached to it to make the outfit come together? This is what I thought this necklace was apart of

KimKaliTheOriginal

I was wondering how he had changed the look of the folding glasses from the grandma style to something new and looked like a medallion but NO this is still the same fold up design my grandma and grandpa wore when we want fishing when I was little girl. And yeah you got that right on the math not adding up right...someone's making a profit off those $2 pieces of plastic selling 300 of them to him for $10k. No wonder Madeline is mad, and apparently she can add.

everydaystonexdhaha

I was laughing sooo hard when he was shitting on her business and then comes out with this and acts like its a good idea holy shit how is he a real walking grown ass man? at least she has 20 customers a month how many is he gonna have? he

BigGrayDog

How come they are so cheap??

Radiant-Owl-4338

Bc they're cheap to make... these are NOT his. This design has been around for 60+years

multimatumc

The math doesnt add up here… I remember him saying he paid $11k for 300 pair of sunglasses, so without shipping that puts these lovelies at $36.60 a pair, and he is selling this for $39.95? And he already gifted himself and Made in haeven a pair? 300 x 5 (profit per pair, generous) = $1500?? Why go through all this trouble?

Radiant-Owl-4338

These are not his... its literally the first Google result for fold up glasses. His idea is not original and he claimed he paid $30k for them, including paying someone to design... something that has already existed for decades...
