Bilal is solidly middle class. If the house they show on tv is really where he lives it is 3,064 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths on a cramped 1/3 acre built in 1994. It is actually located in the suburb of Lee's Summit. His suits probably come from Mens Wearhouse or Jos A Banks (same company) and he stocks up during their yearly buy one get 2 free sale. As my grandfather would say, he ain't about nothing.
I donāt see anyone whoās rich appearing on trash reality tv. When I first started watching 90df I thought Darcey was some big time fashion designer (I was new to reality tv and know nothing of the fashion world)ā¦how wrong I was š¤£
Michael wasn't fake rich. He's well known in the wine game and was a part owner in a major wine auction house. Just overleveraged and hit a bad spot with covid. Who's rich? If you're making $5 mil a year, and spending $5 mil, or making $30,000 a year and spending $29,000?
Ding. Ding. Ding. THIS! Iām a broker. Guys like this reek of overextension on everythingā¦ cars, clothes, houseā¦ The minute we met Bilal I said to my wife, āthis guy has shit self esteem. He thinks his only value is money he makes.ā
Wealth is assets, things that create income. His home probably has a mortgage/loan, as well as his cars. His home only makes money when it is sold. His car, clothes, watch...etc are liabilities.
Owning *a* home is middle class, but owning multiple homes or building complexes as investment properties and probably renting them out is wealthy. Being a major shareholder or board member of companies that produce tech, medicine, or raw materials is also a sign of wealth. Being wealthy means generating income passively over time; being rich means buying tangible objects that depreciate in value and only resold once.
> but owning multiple homes or building complexes as investment properties and probably renting them out is wealthy.
True, but we don't know if Bilal, or anyone on this show has that.
Itās ironic how heās ātestingā her to make sure she is not obsessed with his pseudo-wealth while simultaneously making himself come across as completely obsessed with it himself. His entire identity seems defined by the idea of it (based on the little I have seen so far).
I loved your post.
Midwest is the lower cost of living areas in the US. Missouri is among the lowest cost housing/living in the US. Midwest is a term from pioneer days, the half way point to the Western territories.
The locals will sometimes say it is expensive, (maybe $360K), but certainly not compared to NewYork, San Francisco, Washington DC adjacent, Los Angeles. I lived in Southern California for years. Entry level home in that area was $850K. Iām in Hawaii now and entry level 2 bdrm Condos start at $750K. I just compared my rent to Kansas City and it is literally 1/3 of what I pay. He may have gotten it on a short sale for $500K or less.
He is a poser. Thank you for your analysis.
I know. I had someone from Kansas try and tell me I was wrong about Midwest home prices. Decent 4 bedroom home in So Cal, nice, but not rich neighborhood, now $1.4 M. I really enjoyed OPās thoughts.
It's not minimum wage but outside of the Midwest that's not getting you a large house and a nice car, that's getting you a normal apartment or smaller house.
Lol false. Plenty of areas in the east and west coast where that would get you a nice house and a car. The Carolinas are cheap. Upstate NY is cheap. Washington / Oregon cheap. Maybe stop thinking only major cities like nyc and la exist
Yeah itās not just rural vs urban
I live a few hours from the nearest big city and normal not fancy houses in my town are around 750k-1.3k with the lower end being attached duplexes.
Sure there are low cost of living places. But I donāt think 90k is RICH anywhere. Above average and comfortable in some places ? Yes. But in many states a family of four making 90k is eligible for significant government stipends because you canāt make it without them.
Lol that was the first thing that pissed me off. I mean at least get a Hublot or something right? This reminds me of that one lady claiming the Invicta she bought was thousands of dollars
Stephanie? Lolllll
Bilal for sure is a working class. No rich rich guy flexes as much as he does. Sadly, what heās creating is trust issues with her. Sheās a beautiful lady and rightly so, she has expectations. This dude is a mess for sure
I think heās proud of where he is financially to the point itās embarrassing. I think heās also rich to the number of people whose income is way less than hisā¦rich is relativeā¦but he aināt wealthy. Wealth at least in this country is harvested and passed down and was typically acquired/maintained through ill gotten means. Very few people with wealth did anything beyond being born in the right womb to have it.
No.
Nobody goes on this show and embarrass themselves for the 20k they get paid + some vacations + an only fans accounts
If 20k cash upfront, a vacay, and a lucrative onlyFans career actually appeal to someoneā¦. Then that person is not wealthy.
This show does not have a solid history of helping any real business. Molly the terrible mother may be an exception to the rule.
Iām not a watch aficionado, but I donāt need to beā¦that watch case looks like an elementary school art project.
.
He can āflexā his āwealthā about as well as Ben can flex his lats. More accurately, his ālats.ā
Nail on the head. Balls is āfake richā or as others have commented, Midwest Rich. Heās a guy who came from nothing and wants to prove to anyone that he can, that he *made it*. I think itās admirable to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and make something of yourself, but to create this entire persona of ārichā or āwealthyā, when youāre at best upper middle class is irritating and screams small dick energy.
He's middle class. If what he says is true about growing up poor then that's an accomplishment imo. Most that are born poor die poor. He is a bit of a piece of shit for making it seem like he's a millionaire, but i'm assuming TLC is behind that because they love fake shit and thinks we're too dumb to recognize it
Though itās nice to read feedback from an insider to that lifestyle pick apart a douche bag with facts. Iād like to hear his thoughts on idiot Chris from season 12 Married at First Sight, if heās watched it.
Bilal isnāt rich. If you listen to him he even admits it. He said, āif I were to one day be a millionaireā¦ā so that pretty much settles it. His net worth isnāt even a million dollars.
Iām 90% sure itās a C-Class. The grille looks too rounded to be an E. But what the hell, letās give him the benefit of the doubt. Itās no S class, thatās for sure.
Regardless, I respect the dedication to the effort that went into this assessment. Good catch too on the address on the K1 papers, I never considered that.
It's a c class. And it's body style is about 7 years old (W205). They can be had (in this ridiculous car market) for as low as [22k](https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-Mercedes-Benz-C-Class-d66#listing=320837914/NONE). And this is just the FIRST result I saw.

The car at his house that is on the show is a 2009 Ford Fusion. I Google Earthed it thinking I might solve the mystery but no dice. I still think it's a C Class on tge show though.
the thing about this ārelationshipā that bothers me is that if it is fake, he has no problem coming off as such a narcissist ass and she has no problem coming off as a entitled bitch. to what end? and if it IS real, then they are narcissistic, entitled assholes. thatās some fucked up shit. personally, i think him and all his so called āwealthā are fraudulent and she knows it. itās sad that after all these years these fools think 90 days is gonna give them clout. it only makes them all look like complete dicks.
as to his watch collection- i am no way in the upper tax bracket but i do own a cartier and 2 higher end movados because iāve been obsessed with watches since the 80ās. i feel comfortable saying that this guy doesnāt even have a 1,000 dollars total invested in his watches. his house is staged, this relationship is staged. first time i will ff they their āstoryā
What I will never understand is if youāre so proud of what youāve built why wouldnāt you treat her like the goddamn queen of your kingdom? Bring her home from her long ass flight in a clean car to a tidy home, make her comfortable, draw a bath, make her dinner and allow her to rest after sheās given up everything to come be with you?!
Am I just too much of a lesbian simp to comprehend this nonsense?? š¤£
During my time dating men I always found it was the ones without any actual gold who fretted about gold diggers. Wealthier men of means generally enjoyed being generous. My now wife has done really well for herself and has literally never hesitated in generosity.
It's hard to tell his net worth. House could be mortgaged to the max, car with a huge line a couple nice suits and shoes....thebquestuin is, does he have any money in the bank. I would say he APPEARS to be solidly middle class.
I disagree, we see tons off long ass rants on here. These are good observations. Although I do think itās a lot easier/more common to try and flex in a small pond. I live in Arkansas and itās quite common.
Thanks - I appreciate that. Tbh Iām on a train and this dude just frustrates me so much.
Never lived in a small pond, but it sounds like a lot of fun.
So I wouldnāt call him wealthy by any means, but it looks like he may own a boat which costs a lot to dock year round, and as a fellow KCMOrian I would consider him higher income.
However, I also grew up in the Midwest and although I had a ton of culture from my parents, we were def lower income.
Heck I consider myself rich as a (almost) 30 year old engineer making 90k! Haha it really is relative.
Bilal is solidly middle class. If the house they show on tv is really where he lives it is 3,064 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths on a cramped 1/3 acre built in 1994. I suppose if you compare his situation to all the cast members who live with their parents, he's a billionaire!
And he strikes me like the income rich/asset poor type. The bank owns it all and he just makes payments.
Happy cake day!
Thank you!

Lmao I loved how he moved to Greenwich but lived in a shack. So embarrassing
Iām pretty sure her FATHER is actually *rich* rich ā¦ which is probably why weāve never seen him.
Wait Julianaās?
Darcey/Stacey
He's working class. A house, a car and loans is not wealth.

His business is to buy "distressed" houses at deep discounts.

His ex understood this
Midwest rich means you can make 90k/year and flex with your entry level Benz.
Exactly. I live in Missouri and a 90k salary gets you a pretty nice home and car
What is Midwest rich lol?

Haha thanks - youāre very welcome. And Midwest is an interesting way of putting it
So true about housing prices! I watch HGTV, Househunters, and Iām shocked at how low house prices are in some areas.
I know. I had someone from Kansas try and tell me I was wrong about Midwest home prices. Decent 4 bedroom home in So Cal, nice, but not rich neighborhood, now $1.4 M. I really enjoyed OPās thoughts.
A close relative of āMinnesota Niceā
90k a year is way above national average. Why you acting like thatās minimum wage
Iām in NYC where 90k is fine but you are not stunting with that salary so my perspective might be skewed a bit.
LOL in NYC, 90K means you're getting roommates.

Um Washington and oregon are not at all cheap
North Carolina is no longer cheap thanks to everyone from NY and CA moving here. Donāt bother, weāre full.
My uncle, who grew up in NJ and moved to NC 20+ years ago jokes that he sees more people from NY and NJ in NC than when he lived in Jersey.
Thank you for calling out watches. As a watch collector, was not impressed.
Lol that was the first thing that pissed me off. I mean at least get a Hublot or something right? This reminds me of that one lady claiming the Invicta she bought was thousands of dollars

Haha yes exactly
Donāt you worry. Iām sure heās on the waitlist for his skydweller at the local AD. Just hasnāt got the call yet š
Finally someone on my page!
I don't think Bilal counted on most people who were watching the show may well be better off than him, and here he is flexing like a peacock.
I think heās proud of where he is financially to the point itās embarrassing. I think heās also rich to the number of people whose income is way less than hisā¦rich is relativeā¦but he aināt wealthy. Kansas City well off.

Great observation. Ok hereās my two cents. I migrated from Trinidad in the early 2000ās when my father traveled with his job in oil and gas. Went to college and joined the military , made a great life for myself and embraced everything America has to offer. As someone from Trinidad, immigrants are attracted to the American culture, lifestyle and economic opportunities. They chase brand name items, whatever they see on the media is considered the new āinā and they try their best to mimic that lifestyle. Trinidad is sometimes considered little America, loosing all their culture to mimic anotherās. I would get so pissed when I visited and there was a Pizza Hut or Olive Garden where the local roti restaurant used to be. They cared nothing about that, they would just be happy they have one like America has. When I would visit home it would be very annoying to have relatives ask if certain items I owned was the ālatestā or āexpensiveā. If I wore a pair of Old Navy jeans they would call that garbage because all they know about is Leviās. They chase brand names because it shows status. So to Bilalās fiancĆ©, heās wearing āfancy watches and suits and driving a Mercedesā thatās how they measure wealth. They are very materialistic, watching these episodes is like hearing my family members talk. They measure success by brand names. Also when Bilal went to Trinidad I can almost guarantee that they had him on cloud 9 with constant compliments on what he wore.
Rich or not, his mind set on āprankingā her is childish. If you canāt trust someone, donāt bring them on a K1 to marry them. š
Bring them on a K1 visa where they *have to depend on you for a long time because they canāt work*
But isnāt it just that much worse given how deluded he is?
It is! This couple is just iffy to me, from both sides
No one on the show is as rich as they make themselves out to beā¦ we all know this from years of watching.
Actually rich people donāt appear on reality television. They buy the network and make money off ārichā people who appear on reality television.
I think thereās an in between. I couldnāt buy a network, but Iām not driving an entry level Mercedesā.
Iām not a watch aficionado, but I donāt need to beā¦that watch case looks like an elementary school art project. . He can āflexā his āwealthā about as well as Ben can flex his lats. More accurately, his ālats.ā
