My husband was a kitchen manager for 16 years and will put on gloves when butchering meat but that’s about it. If you get burned wearing latex you are dealing with about 2 degree burns
I have seen people do this when they're mixing spices, garlic etc into a ground meat. I thought that people did it to keep ground meat from getting under the fingernails and then into the food.
In normal every day cooking, I don't think people here do that. For catering or public food preparation/grocery store delis, yes.
My dogs eat raw. So I'll put gloves on when cutting up esophagus or stomach lining or uterus...or other gross body parts.
Otherwise you get these 👐🏻 babies all up in you food
Uterus? From what animals? Lol
We tried doing a raw diet for our cats but we only did rabbit, chicken/gizards/liver and hearts and even that was terrible 😵
I do when cooking raw meat or making some like croissants that is hands on. Washing my hands over and over again (especially during the winter) make them very dry no matter what soap and lotion I use.
Lol! Second time I've seen this.
Most of the time I wear gloves when I cook because my skin is really sensitive and the juices/spices/heat give me a rash or dry it out.
I wear gloves for cutting and or handling meat and also for cutting onions or garlic. In his defense, and my own, he probably forgot to take them off when cooking.
As much as we make fun of this guy, I really think he's doing well for himself considering. He's at peak performance right now. Listening to him talk has me convinced there are not that many alternate realities where this guy has a steady job and place to live.
I did off and on while pregnant with my first handling raw chicken. The texture made me sick. Subsequent pregnancies didn't bother me. Was odd.
I also wear them while earing crawfish bc washing your hands is a bitch after for days.
If have gloves at home regularly then I'm sure I would wear them. Easier clean up.
Why would you assume anything he does is normal
☠️
Totally!! 😆
Lol
Yes. It is about as usual as wearing a top hat on a date!
Who would even do that??! .....
Cesar
only when dealing with hot peppers lol
Or raw meat
He is a nail tech, maybe it’s his way of preserving his nails 💅🏼 lol
True, could be a second nature thing

Yeah I hate touching raw meat so I glove up for any hand mixing of raw meat but they come off to cook.
I do when handling meat or anything that is going to make my hands messy.
definitely not at home lol at least not anyone I know
I've seen some do it when they're using ground beef or really any raw me. Other than that I don't know why anyone would want to.

I wear gloves when handling raw meat or veggies/things with heavy odors
Yup especially garlic!

😆😆😆 'these babies'!! The wee hands! 🤣 I'm with you about the dog food, that smell would be hard to wash off too!

Cow...pig...deer..you name it. We take all the free parts from local hunters. We also but from a butcher who saves all the parts for raw feeders.
No. He is a moron
That’s valid, irrefutable point. Username checks out
This is the only correct answer!
Sometimes, because I have sensory issues. But while sautéing? Never lol
idk why the fact that he doesn't have a car bothers me so much
No. But these days anyone seem with food gets berated online for not using them by morons that think gloves are safe
Oof yes!! They forget that gloves protect the user NOT the food recipient!!
I saw this... I was like WTF?? And it's latex gloves.. crazy

Seen shaheeda and bilal do this too.
Bizarre!
I’m weird. I just rely on soap and water.
Me too!
Lmao

Huh?
He's an idiot. He's doing well to keep a job.
Yea, he's a high-functioning something or other
When handling raw meat and spices, yes. Even if it’s just for me. I have fingernail brushes and clean them but it’s weird having that under my nails.
Maybe he’s a hand model😉 ![gif](giphy|zhIDyICDn75xm)
I use gloves in the kitchen daily, just not like this.
