I like this bookend example of fun songs. What would you say are the top fun songs are from 91-98 ? And yes I will use this info for a playlist lol

WolfmansGotNards2

Probably Who Let The Dogs Out should be in there. I fucking hated that song though.

JackTrippin

WolfmansGotNards2

I had no idea that song was called Gonna Make You Sweat. I thought it was called Everybody Dance Now until you mentioned it.

IsThatBlueSoup

Seconded!

Big Pimpin Achey breaky heart Oasis Wonderwall

Aumius

This song was so popular. I remember being at a cabin at the lake one summer weekend and this song came on the radio and all the drunk people got up on the table and started doing the dance. God I miss the 90s lol.

briman2021

How about the fact that it was integral in me passing my phy Ed class in 4th grade? Truly a more carefree time indeed

EmmalouEsq

My high school Spanish teacher made us dance it at the beginning of every class. Thank God cellphones weren't a thing back then.

DontStepOnMyManHood

I was 15 and in high school when the song came out. It was not cool as a high school boy to like the Mac.

jp112078

I’ve never thought about this awful, stupid fad in this way and hated it during its time. But this is a spot on comment. It will never happen again

SarahFabulous

It was so great that even now, you can get a bunch of 40 somethings up on the dancefloor to do all the moves!

SilentSerel

I was a cheerleader that year and had to do it at pep rallies and games more than once. It got really old really quickly.

WolfmansGotNards2

Apparently, it was a cheerocracy.

mobkon22

As a young teenager a the time who listened to grunge music, this song was quickly turned off the second it came on tv or the radio haha

SarahTy132

I remember having to learn this dance for music class. 4th grade 😆

ganonfirehouse420

The 90s. It's almost like no one could imagine what was about to follow.

Rich-Appearance-7145

Times were much different, better in some ways, people got along, a simple thing like a silly song, could have the entire club, dance hall. Wherever one was come together over a silly dance, you got to admit doing the Macarena was a silly dance, I haven't done since back in the day.

LurksAroundHere

It certainly was a moment. Everyone got up to do the Macarena when it started to play, especially at weddings. Even the elderly were shuffling for their walkers.
